  1. Maybe he's been trying to get fired all along, but he hasn't done enough yet, so he's going all out? Still, it's nowhere near as bad as the Cincinati lineup from a few days ago.
  2. Shouldn't be an obstacle. Clement is on the 15-day DL as of right now. He can get pushed to the 60-day and they can put Ellsbury on the 40-man.
  3. Here's the problem with that though, Fred. What do you attend, 15 maybe 20 Sox games a year? If the FO evaluated player performance on 15-20 randomly selected games rather than the whole season, then they'd end up with some pretty funky roster constructions from year to year. Bottom line, I could care less if he pleased you when you saw him because you don't go to every game, and everthing he does should get consideration. So, because of last year, there still should be room for some optimism. That said, he's shown so very little in his play that I suspect last year was the anomaly.
  4. The '07 version of WMP is indefensible. I don't want to see that version get another day of playing time. He's doing nothing with the bat, so they might as well call up a glove if Coco goes DL. What I don't understand is those that didn't like the '06 version. Sure he had his warts, but he was a definite offensive contributor, enough so to the point of making his (less frequent than now) defensive gaffes tolerable.
  5. What's all this talk about NY pitching Hughes tonight? The weather forcast has it being overcast tonight, and if yesterday is any indicator, they'll call the game by 3 pm.
  6. Josh "Bullet Train" Beckett vs. Adam "I'm really a pussy unless I'm having a fantasy about being a Master of the Universe with my big queer cat" Loewen http://images.scotsman.com/2006/02/15/1502bulletb.jpg http://geocities.yahoo.com.br/principeadam2001/heman/adam15.jpg Keep the train rolling.
  7. I believe you are talking about an Oedipus slip.
  8. That's BS. WMP has done nothing this year, but he deserves credit for that. According to you, he can't layoff the breaking ball in the dirt. Well, he did it 3 times that AB. The pitcher didn't f*** up, because that is what you are supposed to do with WMP. WMP showed some patience and earned a walk. Be a man, get over your rant, and give credit where credit is due.
  9. Good pitching. Timely late hitting. Good win. All aboard, bitches!!!
  10. 3...2....1....
  11. I've got the MASN feed on mlb.tv, and Palmer and Thorne were gushing about the O's pen. Yeah, I like it too.
  12. Who's to say they can't pitch him in a non-save opportunity. I know he needs to get work, but it's not tonight. He's only had 2 days off after 4 in 5.
  13. Nice play by Patterson.
  14. Do we need Papelbon tonight? I don't think so. We're through the heart of their order. I'd rather save him for tomorrow if they really need him, and if they don't, he's pretty much set for the whole Yankee series (assuming they don't need him 3 games in a row). Looks like the offense is going to take care of the decision.
  15. That hook is killer. Jima time!
  16. Willingham K's on ball 4 with the bases loaded. Amezega squibs one over the drawn 3B to tie it, and...................Wickman WP to score the game winner. Marlins win! Unbelievable. Hudson shut them down for 8 and they score 4 in the 9th. Fun team to watch.
  17. Hudson goes 8 IP with 12 Ks and is up 3-0, comes out for the 9th, 3 straight singles, enter Wickman, Olivo double scores two, runners on 2nd and 3rd, no out, IBB to load 'em, Willingham up.....the 500 in attendence in Florida are going wild.
  18. Perlozzo going to give us another base runner? Because you know he's walking someone else. I'll take it.
  19. I think you all get the point. I know he has the power, he just doesn't square it up that often. Tejader does.
  20. Curt, why can't you miss like that to Bako? Why does it always have to be to the best hitter on the team?
  21. This is stupid. Pedroia should still play because he doesn't look lost at the plate. He's working the count better than any hitter on the team, and he's getting contact. The hits will come. 3/9....3/22....no, 3/9.....no, 3/22 is like arguing over who gets to eat the ice cream cone that fell in dog s***. It's pointless. Look at his play on the field and decide from there because no sample is large enough to tell us much right now. That said, if his line holds up into June, then we'll need to make an adjustment.
  22. The obvious is obvious. Given the way he's played this year, I'm sure no one disagrees with you. I know I don't. I just grow tired of the whiny **** routine. We get it. Let. it. go.
