  1. I don't know why Sox fans are getting excited. They get to bring in a junk-balling LHP, which is the worst thing for us, and take out the BP machine. I want Karstens back.
  2. Ouch. Hope he's alright. Looked like it hit the side of his knee pretty hard.
  3. I don't know why you are expecting proof. There's no proof he will be good here, just like there's no proof he won't be. You scout him, assess the risk, and make a decision. And, your take on the roster implication is way off. If they think his game is good enough to sign him, then Manny will very likely get traded. So, the roster implication would be adding a player to replace Manny and whoever they get back in trade. There is the potential for an increase in overall performance there.
  4. Yeah, and Jacksonville's still there to pick before Dallas. That was a good move by them, because if they want him, they aren't likely to lose him to Cin, Ten, and NYG. So, they netted a 3rd and 6th while still getting the guy they wanted (assuming it's Quinn).
  5. Because of who is slotted ahead of them and their needs. Cincinatti, Tennessee, and NY could all use some help on the D-Line. He's very likely gone by the time they pick, and that's not a lot to get the guy that you want. That move made sense to me.
  6. When his oblique heals, I suggest anyone who thinks these guys can't contribute watch Akinori Iwamura on the DRays. From what I've read, Kosuke has his type of game, and Iwamura is solid ball player. I'd love to have that guy on the team.
  7. So they move back in the 1st round, and trade their 2nd and 5th for a 6th to get Revis. Seems like a bit much with other good corners on the board. Especially when they need a potential franchise QB. Strange move.
  8. No way. I'll be mildly surprised if he gets past Carolina at #14 (Delhomme is not the long-term guy, IMO), quite surprised if he slips past Jacksonville at #17 (Leftwich same story), and utterly shocked if Dallas doesn't take him at #22. I can really see the Jets moving up a few spots.
  9. Really. That graphic about the next 5 picks not needing to draft QB is right on. Quinn will go to decent team and won't be pressed to do it all next year. That is an interesting story to this draft, and if it's the Jets, they are on the way up and should make the move if they can.
  10. I don't know, football isn't like baseball where you just draft the most talented player. He certainly fits for them and fills a need. I'm shocked Quinn slipped to the 'Fins, who must be doing backflips. EDIT: WHOA! Ginn? I don't see it.
  11. Looks like they are going to go with Landry. He's a good ball player, but I think they need to get more out of the draft. It would surprise me if he doesn't get traded later today.
  12. Levi Brown goes 5th. The 'Skins don't pick again until the 5th round. They don't need Quinn or Peterson. Landry would help, but 6 seems early for him. They should move down. And, Snyder sucks.
  13. Adams goes 4th. Solid pick, but I think the Bucs missed what they needed most by one pick. Thomas would have helped them a lot.
  14. I think you need to be a member of the league to view the league page. If I'm on a different computer, I need to log in to get to the league.
  15. Thomas goes 3rd. That's still a good pick. And, of course, it sets up John Gruden to draft Brady Quinn when they already have Simms, Garcia, and Plummer under contract. Hilarity ensues, a la Millen, if he does that. I'm listening to WDAE, the Tampa sports talk station online, and the Big Dog, Steve Duemig, who rips Gruden daily, is already setting the stage. Go to 620wdae.com and listen to the stream if you want to hear him rant if Gruden takes Quinn.
  16. I think they need to take Quinn. They desperately need a QB to compliment Winslow and Edwards. They can have another restructuring season next year while Quinn learns the pro game and come into next draft looking for more immediate impact from OT or RB. Just my $0.02.
  17. Cleveland next. They could use all three of Quinn, Peterson, or Thomas. Which way do they go?
  18. Johnson #2, cue the pundits.
  19. Russell goes first. Millen's on the clock.....
  20. http://www.theonion.com/content/files/images/Manny-Ramirez-R.jpg Time to start driving the ball.
  21. The Detroit spot is funny to consider now. Millen will catch all sorts of crap if he picks his 4th WR in the past 5 1st rounds, but CJ is the better than anyone he's selected thus far. What to do, what to do? EDIT: And the best talent in the draft.
  22. The knuckleball is like a ghost-pitch. You think you see it, you swing at it with confidence, but there's nothing there. So, the pitcher with the ghost-pitch gets the Ghost Train, right? I'm glad you agee. Tim "Ghost Train" Wakefield vs. Jeff "Juggs" Karstens http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f8/kembry/Ghost-3-w.jpg http://fog.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p264939reg.jpg Winning is good. Let's do that, and lest we forget.......... This shall rule the day. http://whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com/photos/uncategorized/knuckleball.jpg
  23. Shame. I sit any Yankee on my fantasy team against the Sox. Karma. You got what you deserved.
