  1. Aaron Bates went 5/5 with 4 HR. No, that isn't a typo. He's got 13 on the season, but 9 have come at home, so don't forget the grain of salt.
  2. Sushi, Refer to tonight as exhibit A, with tomorrow probably being exhibit B, as to why counting the Yankees out is folly. All it takes is one starter to go down. Just one, for any period of time, and we all of a sudden have 2/5 of the rotation going short on regular basis, thus draining the 'pen and putting pressure on the big 3. Now, luckily, JB isn't missing significant time, but there are still 4+ long months ahead, and s*** has been known to happen with this team. The Yankees will go on a tear at some point. With the talent they have in that lineup, and, while there is no ace, in the rotation, when everyone is clicking together, I can see them running off 16 of 20, easily. If that coincides with 3-week .500 stretch for us, the gap will close quick.
  3. C'mon Rent-an-error, why couldn't you drop that like when you played here. You do owe us, you know.
  4. It should be on the MLB homepage. Just click on the little TV icon by the game on the scoreboard.
  5. One hit. This is why I hate it when they let good pitchers of the hook in a shaky first.
  6. Folks, when/if you watch Baseball Tonight for the coverage of today's games, let me know what you guys think about the play at the plate in in the TB/FLA game. The Ray's announcers are beside themselves calling it a dirty play, but I disagree. Olivo was just sliding into home, but unfortunately the throw to the plate was bad and Paul had to reach across and low to try and catch the ball, and it resulted in the catcher's arm getting caught under the spikes. He didn't come out of the game, but hyperextended it pretty bad. I think it was just unfortunate, not dirty. If anyone watches it, let me know what you think.
  7. He misses out where the hitters can extend and drive too often.
  8. I'll admit, I wanted him to get a shot. It's not looking good, and Tavarez has pitched better than I ever imagined he would.
  9. Wow. I'm surprised the chain of FBs worked to get the K. He's not overpowering.
  10. 50 pitches or 4 inning limit.
  11. Smoltz is all over the place. Capitalize before he can settle in.
  12. Straighten that s*** out, Papi.
  13. Coco is starting to hit....again. Let's see if he can sustain it.
  14. Phelps was overmatched. Whew.
  15. Count our blessings that the goat was up.
  16. Wagner. Told ya. Go to first numnuts, that's the 2nd out and the lead is still 3.
  17. A for effort, but a collosal Cano-no. He needs to just eat that ball. Instead another run scores.
  18. Heilman gets 'er done. Wagner scares me in the 9th. I still remember that debacle in Shea last year.
  19. Mets BP doing everthing they can to give this one away. Heilman in to face Mr. Calm Eyes with 1st and 3rd, 2 outs in the 8th of a 8-6 game.
  20. Wright putting on the hitting clinic. Thanks, Johnny.
  21. Nice flip, Hollywood.
  22. KAPOW!
  23. Why throw Francouer strikes? Everything ought to be a nibble with that hacker.
