  1. I really don't think it has anything to do with them "figuring" him out. What's to figure out? He's the same pitcher that he has been for 10+ years. It's just a matter of his volatility. Look at his gamelogs. He's in the middle of a bad stretch right now. He has them all the time. Two of them happened to come against the Yankees. It's really nothing more than that.
  2. Check his history of posts re: Clemens. You will find it very consistent. Sometimes it helps to check on these things instead bringing out the cliche counter points.
  3. For me it's got nothing to do with coddling a player. Coco and Ellsbury lack the arm for RF, and Moss brings pop with him.
  4. Bring Ellsbury up if Coco gets hurt, because CF is where he ought play. He doesn't have the arm for RF. Moss does. And Moss brings pop with him. If Drew gets DL'd, Moss is the man.
  5. The better question is at what point does Pettitte's ERA start reflecting his perphs?
  6. Damn, the Tigers need Zumaya back. Jones came in to put out the fire in the 8th and limited the damage to get out of the inning up 9-7 after letting a couple of inherited runners in. They put two more on the board in the top half to make it 11-7, then the Tribe score 5 off him to win 12-11.
  7. Never tried it with the fruity stuff. Regular waffles, maple syrup.
  8. Try it. With a big glass of milk. I guarantee you will enjoy it.
  9. Peanut butter. Waffle, peanut butter, syrup. You don't know what you are missing.
  10. Who cares about the call? It won't make a difference in this game.
  11. Romero will walk Matsui. Book it.
  12. Despite the DP, never fear, Gascaino is warming.
  13. Well, this is what you get with Wake. A period of dominance. A period of dreadfulness. In the end, he'll be right around league average. He's an immense value, but you have to accept the volatility.
  14. Do you really not know why he's on the team? Haven't been following the Sox that long have we?
  15. Dougie stuffs Thumper's head in the toilet and rips a good fart. Me gusta Pedroia.
  16. Let's see some of that light-tower power Manny.
  17. Kid is just flat raking.
  18. If found a link to MGL's UZR through May 31. Manny -13 Drew -10 Griff -6 And that's only 1/3 of the way through. *BTW, I downloaded it into a spreadsheet with filters. Anyone who wants a copy, PM me your email address and I'll attach a copy.
  19. This. http://www.stevenellis.com/steven_ellis_the_complete/images/knuckleball.jpg
  20. Loretta? I mean, Loretta? What exactly does he do for this club? He's better than Cora, so I guess he could be the utility infielder. Although, one of the nice things about Cora in relation to the rest of the infield is that he is a LH bat. And, what's the point of picking a guy up if there's no need? The roster is limited to 25 guys for a reason, and you are wasting your time if you are filling it out with people that have no need. The thing I think we need to get by the deadline is another power RHRP. Donnelly is nice, but not quite enough. If MDC and Mmm'bop aren't ready to contibute, then we need to pick one up in trade. The list of candidates will be determined by who is and is not in contention come July 31, so I'll post who I think the targets should be as that picture becomes clear.
