  1. Traditionals: 2-9, 5.33 era Perphs: 5.21 k/9, 2.78 bb/9, 10.3 h/9, 1.39 hr/9 Please stop.
  2. Oh, he's been better to this point, but at the same time he hasn't looked excessively better or worse than before. The clamoring for Drew has to do with the fact that, when he's normal, he's better, and it looks like he's pulling out of the mire of a pretty bad slump. And, if it were any other pitcher, I'd agree, he should have played yesterday. But RJ, aged or not, is still hell on lefties. For a comparable situation, consider Abreu. The same argument you made could have been made about him 2 weeks ago. Would you want him to find some pine time after a couple of games that looked like he found his stroke? I didn't think so.
  3. Doubtful. Tito purportedly took both Ortiz and Drew out due to RJ's extreme effectiveness against lefties. Sure, he's old and all, but with his height he still throws the ball from a release point lefties have hard time with. Here are the platoon delta's for LH hitters: -0.092/-0.050/-0.094
  4. Barely survived? He was the #2 run producer on a playoff team. That's hardly treading water. Seeing how jilted you guys are over him is kind of funny though.
  5. I'll go ahead and guarantee it doesn't end in SA in game 5 (2-3-2 in the Finals).
  6. Do you struggle with reading for content? I said the moves in the 7th made no sense. I said he'd be wrong if he let Coco hit with runners on in the 9th. The time you were calling for Ortiz to hit, with 2 out none on, was the most irrelevant time for him to hit, and that is all I took issue with.
  7. This makes absolutely no sense. You have a chance to skip your worst offensive player with your best, when you have only one out left, with two on down 4, and two producers after this spot. It makes zero sense. That said, prove me wrong, Coco.
  8. Now, if Lugo gets on, and he doesn't PH for Crisp, then he's a fool.
  9. What was Ortiz going to do, hit a 4-run solo job?
  10. I was cooking some dinner for the kids, so I missed the play until they showed a replay. Timlin is so bad, he can't even get free outs.
  11. I think that whole sequence in the 7th is going to cost them the game. I'm not saying Drew would have done anything to make a difference, but Francona got caught napping there, IMO. That was just bad managing. The chance to take the lead cannot be left in the hands of Lugo and Crisp right now.
  12. I will say, that was a nice inning from Donnelly. Byrnes dug out a pitchers pitch for the single and he put the side to rest after that.
  13. I guess the double switch, with JD hitting for Lugo would have been too complicated. Cora goes to SS, JD goes to RF, the pitcher takes the 7th spot in the order and won't come up until the 9th. Entirely too confusing.
  14. Lugo, on cue.
  15. And the walk costs him. Again.
  16. He needs to cut the s*** with the walks.
  17. Nice, but he got away with two meatballs to Snyder. Good thing for him, and us, that Snyder kind of blows.
  18. Strikes are prefered.
  19. Yertle, Vulture? Tomato, tomahto, if you ask me. He's still a cartoonish looking jackoff with a mullet. Mike Lowell is bringing sexy back.
  20. Ball 8 against Manny. The supporting cast needs to step up, because Manny isn't getting jack to hit from Yertle.
  21. Like buttah. He doesn't seem to get consistent depth with the change/fork. Several of them seem to start their break about 20' out of his hand.
  22. Better, now stop falling behind.
  23. Strikes are prefered.
