  1. Aren't innings just a function of the pitch count? To me, the inning total is immaterial. I figure you want X number of starts with a progressive Y number of pitches allowed per start. At the start of the year, his Y will be lower than the other 5 (except maybe for Lester), so I think it makes sense to start him in AAA until he works into a pitch count where he can go deep into games. Like I mentioned, Lester will need monitoring too, so I think who comes up north with the big club should be who wins out in ST.

I think this makes the Pittsburg game more interesting. They blitz from all over the field. And on offense they have a good mix of what worked for Philly. Good O-line, good running attack, solid TE/WR corps, plus a mobile QB who is more accurate than Feely. What they don't do is use backs in the passing game like Philly uses Westbrook. NE did a good job containing him, so I suspect a lot of what Feely found open in the middle of the field early was due to scheme against Westbrook (early dumps in the flat to him were covered by LBs).

Is the memory span of the NFL only two weeks? It seems like people forget how dangerous Devin Hester is after a couple of weeks and decide to kick to him again. Why? A kick where he has a chance to return is the most exciting play in football right now.
  4. Lopsided trade, but it looks more like the 0-9 guy just doesn't care that much instead of collusion.
  5. If you "got it" you would see that the numbers relative to position have their performances close enough to rule out a "robbery". And, furthermore, I don't see the point of getting so upset about Holliday not winning when there are others with just as legit cases. Hanley lead the NL in VORP, and Wright and Chipper Jones were both better than Holliday in that metric.
  6. LOL, you still don't get it. This is funny.
  7. And if you went on and on you'd continue to show how dense you are, because you are comparing their raw numbers without consideration of position. As it turns out, Rollins lower numbers from a SS are close in value to Holliday's numbers in LF. Hence, a close vote and not a robbery.
  8. Well thought out response. Keep it coming.
  9. Still, when you consider position, Holliday was about 1/2 a win better. Better is better, but it's not the travesty you are making it out to be.

It's got nothing to do with him being on the team I like the least. Aikman was nails. Good decisions, good throws. Hated him but he was a top flight QB, and I have no problem admitting it. Romo does all the things other QBs get raked over the coals for, but he gets away with it because he's putting the numbers up. I'm skeptical of those numbers when he's playing with one of the best WRs ever and in a very good system. Do I think he flat out sucks? No, but Romo man-love from the announcers is a bit much. And you know what, it won't stop. When Favre retires, Romo takes his place as the fanboy target from the football pundits, except he has about 1/3 the talent Favre had when he was in his prime.

It's pretty easy, take TO away from him and the Cowboys are considering which of Woodson, Dixon, Ryan, or Brohm they want to draft.

Stupid play call by Dallas to throw on 1st down. That's a free clock stopage. They could have run it and made the 'Skins burn a TO or accept some time off the clock.

I guess those two complete hosejobs of coverage on TO are a testament of Romo's greatness. Heath Shuler hits receivers that open.

    Nice grab by Moss.

That was the "right" call, but Crayton doesn't catch that ball w/o that contact. That is where having Taylor out hurts. EDIT: BTW, nice chuck and pray by uber-hype.

Unbelievable play by McIntosh. The guy is a ball hawk. EDIT: Nevermind. Looked good at first, but he needed the ground to secure it.

Give Grossman a HOF WR and a back that can make plays in the passing game, and I think we are looking at the same guy.

4th and less than a yard from the Dallas 33, and Gibbs goes for the 50 yd FG to end a drive that started on the WAS 4. Longest attempt of the year for Suisham. Misses it, of course. Had a real chance to stick a first half dagger in there by extending the drive, keeping the D on the field, chewing up the clock, and extending the lead. Too bad Gibbs hasn't hit menopause yet, and his cycle prevented him from going for the throat. Now Dallas starts off with good field position.

How Romo doesn't draw more Grossman comparisons has me scratching my head. That throw on the botched snap is the first lesson in Grossman 101. He just grabbed the ball, whirled around and flung it downfield without looking. Pick. People forget, Grossman had some games last year with unreal numbers. Romo is the same way, he'll wheel and deal to win some games, but he'll lose some all by himself too. If Buffalo was half the team earlier this year that they are now, they win that game that he threw 5 picks in.
  20. I just want to say, Cape, you've had rotten luck this year. It seems like your opponent has a milestone week when they play you. 722 points, good for 4th most in the league, and a 3-7 record. I feel for you.
  21. Nope, not if you do it right. Set the cap at a percentage of revenues, and it floats with fan interest in the game, and set a floor.
  22. Doesn't mean he isn't Japanese. FYI, lots of Japanese in HI.
