  1. He's in line for the cheap win now.
  2. Dice: "This pop up, grounder s*** is boring, let put another one on and make it interesting."
  3. Is he trying to see how many guys he can walk without giving up a run?
  4. For those of you who may have been in the can during the commercial break, ESPN let us know that Arena Football is on ESPN2. Just so you know.
  5. There are chunks of Bonderman in Lowell's poop. That's right, I said poop.
  6. Somebody with half a head from the FO needs to be on the phone right now letting Tito know he needs to ignore the "let him get the win" BS. If he walks the leadoff guy in the 5th at 90 pitches, pull him.
  7. Thank you for chasing, Mags.
  8. I don't know what's more painful to watch now, Matsuzaka pitching or Wakefield.
  9. Four pitch leadoff walk. Lester has better control.
  10. And even if you get away with it, you run yourself out early and call upon the middle relief. Our middle relief = autoloss.
  11. Petey, you'd be on first if you let it brush the jersey. Take the free pass.
  12. Winning streak. Although, today's GT can be started by one of two people since Thumper fell asleep at the wheel.
  13. Love fangraphs. The WPA game graphs are really fun. Especially when there are huge late game jumps, like this one.... The 'Stros entered the 9th with a 95% chance of winning up 3-0, then the shiz hit the fan. http://www.fangraphs.com/tgraphs/20080415_Astros_Phillies_0.png
  14. What is the path to the Pitch f/x data? I tried year_2008, month_5, day_4 for 5/4/2008. Don't know where to find the raw pitch f/x. I did see something that looked useful under "plays" and attempted to export it to Excel, but got a schema error.
  15. Gom, your PM's are full.
  16. Done.
  17. What about Volquez and the other players included? That's 3 for 1, with two corner power players that can play immediately in your lineup. What you lose from Reynolds to Cabrera (mainly some OBP and a few bases), you will more than gain in Votto over whoever you slot as the 3rd OF. Votto carrying OF position eligibility is valuable.
  18. Yeszir, proposal sent.
  19. Go ahead, Staats, you can say it. "OH NO, WE SUCK AGAIN!" http://www.cineol.net/images/noticias/Cameos/Waterboy_2.jpg
  20. Let someone else finish this game if Youk brings them home? Nah, crazy talk, it would take a save from the "closer". Youk!
  21. He really expands his strikezone for some odd reason in those situations. Let him walk you, Dustin.
  22. In Gomes' ROY year, '05, I went to every Sox vs Rays series down in Tampa. I watched quite a few of their games on TV as well when it didn't conflict with Sox' games. Gomes used to spray line drives all over the field. His swing was much more level (still had some lift to it). He's morphed into a close to worthless TTO hitter. He's trying to jack every pitch. It amazes me that the Tampa organization either has him doing this or allows it to happen. I feared him as a hitter in a big spot in '05. Now I only fear he'll accidentally run into one. JHB, that's a bit much. There's some very good young, cheap talent on this team.
