  1. Yeah, really. Nice perspective, doc.
  2. Fricken' lasers! http://homepage.mac.com/rlmorel/.Public/drevil.jpg
  3. Make it hurt, DJ.
  4. Kotsay will cost a pick, no? I've said it before, but I'll be very surprised if you get Giambi to decline arb. Of the remaining 3 (Abreu, Mussina, Pudge) that you are letting walk, of course they all automatically go to a team with records 16-30. None of those teams that have money but don't spend it wisely and will end up with picks 1-15 will have interest? Some spenders on that list. The Dodgers (unless they win the division), Giants, Orioles, Texas, Cincinnati, Seattle, Cleveland.....all likely to finish with a 1-15 pick.
  5. You are right about his weakest zone (Pedroia's) being down and in, but not about what causes it. Stepping in the buckett creates a hole down and away, not down and in. I agree Anderson does it, and he torches the down and in pitch. He doesn't have a high BA on them, but that's where you can't miss if you want to keep him in the ballpark. Pedroia's hotzone is everything except down and in.
  6. Wait, wait, make it 3 after the Crosby double brought him up to .251.
  7. Two of the starting 9 hitting over .250, and both of them w/o a lick of pop.
  8. Sonnanstine has the slop bucket working tonight.
  9. It'll be a tough loss, but I think they can weather it. To add, I was already of the opinion he should get a taste in Sept when rosters expand. What's a couple of weeks?
  10. Why not? The MLE of his work in Portland, admittedly a small sample but it's what he's done consistently at every level for a year and a half now, puts him in the top-10 among qualified MLB 1B. There are no suitable internal options. He's probably got the most advanced plate approach in the whole system. The only hurdle is getting him on the 40-man.
  11. ARod punks Guerriereeireirereire. You know, I can't be harsh on that girl who fell. She grew up in regular suburban America most likely. No pressure like this before. Imagine if she had been taken from her parents at age 3 and thrown into the state atheltic program? What if the life of being an outcast in upper Mongolia faced her if she slipped up in her routine? It's really an apples and oranges comparison.
  12. David Mailman appears to have found his stroke in Greenville. Last 10: .372/.413/.697, with 3 HR Season: .250/.333/.370 He showed absolutley no pop and was suffering from very low BABIP to start the year. He's not as good as his last-10 line, but he's showing signs of something there.
  13. Same girl finds the mat again.
  14. During one of the broadcasts they said something about how a particular event had seen the WR broken in the last 4 Olympics. That's not surprising. We still haven't maxed out our understanding of athletic training. I suspect these records fall in 4 years as well.

  16. http://www.eddie-hughes.com/pix/main.php/d/84-2/dscn4547.jpg mlb.tv delay, sorry.
  17. He doesn't have one. He thinks only 9 games have been played since the ASG.
  18. A cookie does not hit itself out of the park.
