  1. Save situation post in 3...2...
  2. Pretty much.
  3. What the f*** did Greinke do wrong? Give up a triple? He shouldn't have even faced that guy this inning. Two runs have scored on an error and a WP.
  4. Circ du Royale? Jesus, quit it with the clown shoe stuff.
  5. Oh, we know, this has been made abundantly clear. Cora over Pedroia. Crisp over Ellsbury. Helton over Youkilis. The list is long. I think, at the worst, replacing Bailey with Millar is a wash, but then you have to give something up to get Millar. Even if the something is minor, you lose if you don't gain something in return. I see no gain here.
  6. I guess all those guys he's faced in the EL and IL over the last 5 years went on to play ball in the NPL and all the AL teams imported their pitchers from the Vega system. Look the amount of turnover in pitching lately, at how many fresh faces make up the pitching staffs of Baltimore, Tampa, Cleveland, etc. He's seen more of these pitchers than you realize.
  7. Rookie mistakes? Come on, do you even know the first thing about Bailey? He's not some hot shot kid who is still learning the game. He's 29. Been playing professional ball for 11 years now. In another system he's already been given a shot, but he wasn't here because they had to let prospects with a better pedigree like Moss and Murphy get a shot first. Here's why I favor him over Millar. Millar's player performance arc fits the model. His power prime was 29-32, and he's a few years beyond that. Murphy's MiLB performance appears to be following the same pattern. Hell, he sounds like another version of Kevin Millar. Good eye, good pop, no range, decent glove, plays LF/1B/DH, except he's just now entering those prime years. The MLE of the excellent season he's having in Pawtucket is .261/.349/.473. If you take Millar's 1st two MLB seasons and combine them for a 500+ AB sample, you'd get about a .270/.360/.470 line. I say take the younger version of Millar over the older .240/.330/.430 version.
  8. He won't have to play everyday. Lowrie can play 3B and Youk 1B when Casey sits. Bailey is the big RH bat off the bench. He's done everything you can to get this shot. He's earned it. The MLE of his season in Pawtucket is better than the current version of Kevin Millar.
  9. It's kind of funny how ARod has turned back into an unreliable performer in big situations this year after signing that huge deal. He just K'd with sacks full and nobody out. Not as bad as a DP, but it sets it up for the next guy to do it and end the inning with no runs scored. Nine more years.
  10. Why do we want a RH bat off the bench when the only starters he would be replacing are already RH? Your bench should complement the starting lineup, not fit some model that says you need a certain handed bat for specific situations. Which LH bat do you pull late in a game for Millar? Not Ortiz. Not Drew. Maybe Ellsbury. Certainly Cora. How often does Cora come up late in the game needing to be PH for? And, now that Bailey is up, why can't he do it. He's got more pop than KFK. As for being more productive than Casey. Millar's OBP is .337 to Casey's .412. From a bench guy, I'll take the far fewer outs over the extra bases. As for Casey maintaining that going forward, what makes you assume he's got to drop off? A hunch? His OBP by month is as follows: .424, .391, .392, .424, .409. Casey handles the bat well and has a good eye. It looks like coming off the bench suits him as he doesn't have to suit up to play every day and get worn down. Also, he doesn't hit many XBH's, not according to his stats he doesn't, but for those that like what their eyes tell them, how many of his hits did you think "double" off the bat? He's a slug. He makes Lowell look fleet of foot. The benefit of the XBH isn't limited to the hitter. The balls he hits into the gap still move the other runners over according their speed. Let's review. He's LH, the opposite of Youk and Lowell. He handles the bat well and hits for a high average. While he has no range, he's one of the most sure handed gloves in the game at 1B, a position where range is not as important. And he's capable of having stretches of time in between ABs and still producing. Casey is ideal for this team and its current roster.
  11. I don't care what you say to Thumper. I think he licked the window of a short school bus too. But celebrating an American disaster in order to rile someone is flat out pathetic. You fail at life.
  12. Game postponed per Gameday. BOY makes a valid point still pending.
  13. Not what I asked. Come on, you know where this is going and that the point you are making won't hold.
  14. Oh, I see, win the battle. Tell me, when does the pitcher actually face off against the pitcher in the AL?
  15. Wonderful, the pitcher record argument again. It's like an endless loop of stupidity. Apparently you forgot that you couldn't maintain your point when shown how little control pitchers have over their records. Do we need to do it again? Or are you just ignoring everything that shows the error in your thinking?
  16. Right now he is. I never said it would last forever, but I want him off the field while he sucks. You want guys with talent but are struggling off the team. See the difference, f***o?
  17. Oh my..... No, too easy. Way too easy.
  18. Wakefield was hurt last year at the end of the season. An extension of this logic would lead you to select Jon Lieber over Curt Schilling. Nice choice.
  19. Why did you bother making that apology if you were just going to carry on with the retardiliciousness? Just in case you weren't clear, your drool inspired baseball analysis is what gets everyone to jump all over your posts.
  20. I would be in favor of reducing TD pts to 4 points for all positions. It's a level playing field, and it reduces the impact of TD vultures who don't carry the load between the 20's. That's just me, though. If nobody wants to change it, I can live with the settings.
  21. Hopefully JE is truly back on his game, because that's the "A" lineup if he is.

Renaldo "Skeets" Nehemiah comes to mind. Although, he was a hurdler who went on to become a WR. I recall him being a bust. No hands. The idea of putting this kind of guy in a defensive role where the primary goal is to just knock it down and the gravy is if you can catch it might not be a bad one.
