1. They make a little blue pill for when the Yankees aren't able to get their Wang to go. Ba-dum-bum!
2. Not that I think Kottaras has proven something by what I've seen, either way, the first numbers found in the -/-/- field are absolutely worthless because of the 9. It's a waste of time even looking them up.
3. HOLY CRAP LEARN HOW TO QUOTE What are you talking about?
4. Who cares?
5. Nick Green is a backup utility player. No, backup utility player is not a redundancy, I mean he is best suited for backing up the utility player who backs up the starters. Let's not pretend that, regardless of what he does in the first couple of months of this season, any team is going to give up something of value to get him. Every team has multiple guys like this in the minors and/or can pick them up on waivers for a minor league contract. Please allow sanity to return to the discussion.
6. Looks like he's going to skip that level. Too bad, so sad, you'll have to root for him to succeed or root against your team.
7. Did Tek have an appointment with Dr Frankenstein this offseason. He's alive, HE'S ALIVE!
8. Squander. Could have stepped right on their throats there.

Define elite? If it's the 1.050 OPS player (actually 1.049) with 50+ bombs he was in 2006, yeah, but that standard is a bit extreme. If it's .950 with 35+, I think he can still produce at that level for another year or two beyond this one (provided he gets his timing back).

I agree that he needs to be moved down in the order, but he does need to stay on the lineup card so he can work through this. In another month, if he's still rocking a Cesar Crespo line, then start thinking about other options (both internal and in trade).

12. Yeah, it was replayed. The two fans were over the fence, ie they broke the plane of the field of play. The trajectory of the ball was a HR, but it was playable. When Crowe jumped his glove was bumped by the fans hanging over the fence, so he missed it.
13. So, replay is fairly worthless.
14. Replay. The fan's glove was clearly over the wall in the field of play. If he prohibited Crowe from making the play, ie if Crowe's glove was bumped by the fan, the correct call would be that Posada is out. EDIT: And it looks like he did bump his glove. Let's see if replay is even worth having.
15. Bear with as I'm watching MLB.TV, so I'm about 20 seconds behind. If that curveball he threw to Markakis had a snatch, I'd f*** it.
16. You've got to be s***ing me with the ropes right at people this season. It will end, but it's gettting ridiculous.
17. I wouldn't mind sitting him if Carter was proficient against LHP, but that's a weakness for Carter. If Bailey was up, then yes.
18. Bandbox, not sandbox.
19. I disagree. They've got him where he can continue to work on his main flaw, a tendancy to K a lot. He's a year away. Figgins is 31, and his main asset, speed, will start to decline soon. He's a career .744 OPS player manning a CIF spot. That won't last. Wood will push him into the role he really should be in, utility player / pinch runner. As far as a ticking clock goes, he's got options this year and next. He's on the 40-man roster, so he's protected from the Rule V draft. They have time with him. That said, I'd trade the overrated Figgins to a foolish team right now, and let Wood adjust his game to the ultimate level.
20. Why didn't the Yankees just say NASA was involved in the new stadium? Nobody would have batted an eye at the construction costs if this was acknowledged publically. It's only a handful of games, but the new Yankee Stadium appears to have park effects that would make Coors Field blush. This came up even before the season started, as several who watched the exhibition games noted that the ball seemed to leave the park with extreme ease. Let's look at how things have shaken out early this year.
Where|Games|HR|HRA|(HR+HRA)/Game Home|3|8|9|5.67 Away|9|11|8|2.11
That's a HR park factor of 2.69. That's insane. Now, I'm aware that most who have studied park effects think you need at least 3 years worth of data to come up with a reliable park factor, and I don't anticipate this crazy number to hold up. However, a "reliable park factor" is something used to adjust a player's stats to a neutral field of play, which is not what I'm trying to do. I do think that this is an interesting development in the brief history of the new park, and it's something that I think warrants attention moving forward. Anyone with knowledge of both parks have an idea as to cause? Were there prevailing winds into the old YS that are shutoff by the newer, larger OF structure? I know the orientation is just slightly different than the old YS, but does the new stadium concourse allow more helping winds to blow through and add carry to the ball?
21. You are making the part in bold up, right? He had an excellent spring with the Angels, and his start to the season in AAA has been stellar. Also, this is the Angels we are talking about. They've held on to their prospects in miserly fashion, even the run of the mill ones. Wood looks like a future superstar.
22. Is it just me, or does Luke Scott have a face that seems to say, "Yeah, I know what it feels like to have a cock in my mouth"?
23. Come on Eddings, that's been a strike all night.
24. Well no s***. Throw the little f***er the same pitch in the same location over, and over, and over, and he'll poke it the other way. Game calling ability, FTW!
25. WEEI doesn't stream because the Red Sox don't have the rights to sell that to them. MLB has exclusive rights to online subscription content. The revenues, like the Fox TV deal, go into the general pool split by all the teams.
