  1. I don't think the location has been an issue. People used to just flat out miss if he was up in the zone, above the belt. Now hitters are fouling him off for decades before getting something to hit. If it's a changed delivery, then that suggests a little less movement since there are fewer swings and misses. Whatever the cause, this version of Papelbon won't have a one-something ERA with no blown saves for long. He's on borrowed time pitching like he is now.
  2. Our version of Derek Turnbow, the one with a little better control, is heading down the same path, just not as quickly. You f***ers who treat him like your late game binky, do yourselves a favor, and wake up to this fact. It will only make the ride less painful.
  3. Amen. "I'm teh bestest!"
  4. The fanboy parade acting surprised by this in here is amusing. YOU ALL HAVEN'T BEEN PAYING ATTENTION!
  5. Papelbon has been a severe suck maven this year. He allows more baserunners than the Yankee pen on his own. That train is coming off the rail sooner rather than later, I fear.
  6. It's hilarious how Sterling loves his schtick so much he won't change the obvious insinuation found in this call relative to the current PED environment.
  7. I want to have Jason Bay's Canadian babies.
  8. Sit, Ass-Dribble.
  9. That's because he's not catching the ball and he's not hitting the ball. When you aren't a good runner that can steal bases who can't catch and can't hit, then you are a ballplayer that's struggling. This reminds me of when I played on the Big Red Machine before I made it into the HOF, did I mention the fact that I'm in the HOF, well I am, you should note that. Anyway, when a ball player is playing bad, he's not playing good. Sorry, had an out of body experience there, was it weird for you Joe? Oh, and Wake is the shiz.
  10. Wakefield. Staff ace.
  11. I agree that no trends are cut in stone in April, but it is funny watching you spin about it "only being April" for the benefit of your team only. Per your posts, Ortiz is cooked with lost bat speed, despite it "only being April". His bat speed looks fine to my eye, but his timing is off. The piece they did last night about his hand-cock being later than it was previously, ie he's getting off to a late start, which is a timing issue, not a bat speed issue. The "cheating fastball" you keep refering to is certainly there, but not for the reasons you state. And, again, the calendar shows that it's "only April" but not in your mind when finding critique for someone on the "other" team.
  12. Ripped again. Right at someone again.
  13. Nice hustle, Hollywood.
  14. Squeeze. That was strike 3.
  15. Looks like PEDitte appeased the gods of BABIP with a sacrafice of some kind. Everything was hit hard that inning.
  16. Be careful of the balk, Ellsbury.
  17. It's going to be hard to put him back in the BP if he pitches like that.
  18. I like this idea too. If we are all still here and want to do it again in 5 years, it would be interesting to add another wrinkle. Before we draft teams, we draft parks, so that your team draft has an extra layer of consideration.
  19. We'll see how consistent the method is. I'm noticing a trend, and I'll let you know if you slip up.
  20. Kemp may have been a reach in the 2nd round, but he's got 30/30 guy with an .850+ OPS and excellent D in center written all over him in the future. Might not be until next year or so, but we are playing for the next 5 years, and I didn't want to risk someone else reaching.
  21. Matt Kemp
