  1. Ellsbury a non factor? Him taking over center field in the playoffs was just plain huge. He was in a recent slump yes but in August he's come back strong batting .379 Lowrie has been a key catalyst for the top scoring team in the month of August (18 RBIs) and could hold down the shortstop position for the forseeable future Masterson has really stepped up into being part of the bridge to get to Papelbon Buchholz needs some fine tuning, 2009 is looking like a bounce back year as ever
  2. Dice-K post all-star break is quickly entering the Cy Young Race! Let the good times roll as the offense continues to come back... Ortiz, Youk, Lowrie (18 RBIs in August!!). I knew a hot run awaited them, so far so good! And tonight is Paul Byrd's first start This was Hunter's first start on the road this season and it didnt go so well Matsuzaka this season vs Texas in 2 games, 2-0 with a 2.19 ERA. At home in 12 games, 8-2 with a 3.28 ERA
  3. A strong game last night yet again by Lester! Youkilis, Bay and Lowrie (17 RBIs) continue their solid August Mendoza this season on the road in 8 games, 1-4 & 1 save with a 9.57 ERA
  4. Sweet deal, nice addition to the rotation and it didnt cost any players
  5. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/14/pats-sign-lynch/ The Patriots have signed former Bronco safety John Lynch. Always been a favorite player of mine, cant wait to see him contribute for New England
  6. Who is at fault for picking Sheffield over Guerrero?
  7. Pauley was just up here in case the bullpen had a rough game. The stud Lester did his thing to put to ease the bullpen and Tito. Rather have Carter up here but Bailey's role in this call-up will be minor anyway
  8. http://bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view/2008_08_13_Mike_Lowell_likely_to_go_on_DL/srvc=redsox&position=5 Mike Lowell is likely headed to the DL. We'll be seeing Youkilis at 3rd, Casey getting some more ABs at 1st base. Also on a serperate site with Peter Gammons, he sees Lugo becoming a super utility guy that he was for the Rays (ability to play 2nd, 3rd, ss and OF). That I wouldnt mind at all
  9. What are you talking about? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore;_ylt=Ag26wPnPs.drqYNLpaEFVn.FCLcF?gid=280802102 Lester got the W, I was at this game, giving up 2 runs in 7innings http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore;_ylt=AtWRai_05X0YVBqcOrdmRfOFCLcF?gid=280803102 Matsuzaka got the W, 2 runs in 6 innings
  10. This was Feldman's first career start vs Boston... and hopefully not his last! Great game by the offense not so much by the pitching. Zink looked good through 4 innings. The 5th inning he just plain imploded. Youkilis is on pace to def reach 100 RBIs, 30 HRs is possible as well. A free agent at end of 2010 season, at least 2009 offseason they need to sit down with him about contract extension. Ortiz is back Id like to see the back of the bullpen be Masterson/Okajima/Papelbon. Delcarmen can do middle relief. Feldman last season vs Boston in 1 game, 0.00 ERA. This season on the road in 9 games, 3-3 with a 6.04 ERA
  11. Solid move! Haha to Cashman and Kenny Williams on passing on a starting pitcher who has been 4-0 since the Break AND has postseason experience Beckett Matsuzaka Lester Wakefield Byrd Me like
  12. http://www.boston/com/sports/baseball Haha some things never change ; ) There is also a "dreadlock deadlock", as Torre has been asking Manny since August 1 to shorten up those dreads of his. It might happen this week but funny to see a quote by Torre, "Im not negotiating". Though it might happen this week at a place called Fantastic sams
  13. f***ing huge! First Crawford, now their MVP Longoria? Hell yea its time for the Sox to do some home cooking and gain some ground
  14. Tonights the major league debut of Charlie Zink! At 28 years old and being in the Red Sox organization for awhile, adrenaline is definitely pumping through his veins. Heres hoping a decent start awaits him and the Sox pound the Rangers putrid pitching staff
  15. For a team thats struggled on the road, its good to see a 4-3 road trip. Solid game by Beckett, starting to look like his 2007 self. Lowrie has been clutch with RISP, notably with the bases loaded (4 for 8). So far this month he has driven in 13 runs Beckett last season vs Chicago in 2 games, 2-0 with a 4.63 ERA. This season on the road in 13 games, 6-5 with a 3.55 ERA Danks last season vs Boston in 2 games, 0-2 with an 8.68 ERA. This season at home in 13 games, 4-4 with a 3.67 ERA
  16. Solid move by the D-Backs to add some pop to their lineup and help them fend off the Dodgers
  17. Thankfully he will miss the Rangers series and their tough lineup. His next start will be game 1 vs Toronto at Fenway
  18. Maybe Buchholz will have a decent outing next time around
  19. Whoa haha thanks for swinging and missing on what shouldve been ball 4
  20. when buchholz gets rattled, he really gets rattled
  21. Buchholz this season on the road in 8 games, 0-5 with a 7.68 ERA Floyd this season at home in 12 games, 7-2 with a 2.93 ERA
  22. Tampa wins again, that 7 game losing streak before the break only made them stronger. 3 potential playoff teams have lost players for the rest of the season Chicago- Jose Contreras with a ruptured achilles tendon. This will take 9 to 12 months rehab. Chicago lost and are now behind Minnesota for the Central Lead. The Wild Card will no doubt come out of the East Arizona- Orlando Hudson, discloated left wrist. A blow to the D-Backs as they try to fend off the Dodgers. A good bet the Wild Card will come out of the Cntral Houston- The Astros have won 11 out of their last 15 games in hopes of jumping into the race... But Carlos Lee, 26 HRs/97 RBIs, wont have a chance of returning next month with a broken finger
  23. Ah thanks for the heads up, i wondered how the run had scored when i left for the concourse. Yea its def something I want to do every year round
