  1. TO does have higher scale of booing, anyone just see his recent interview with pardon the interruption on espn?? he basically said he doesnt care he ever talks to donovan again but will still be his receiver on the field, yeah okk dude a quarterback and receiver need to be communicative and on same page if are to be successful. "My contract is not fair", yeah $50 million, man I feel for you
  2. on espn they said his friends dared him to jump onto the net, dumbass
  3. nah i used to have respect for palmeiro, not anymore, he cheated his way through the big leagues--when baltimore comes to boston and he's playing those games, he deserves to get frigging booed each time he takes the bat up to home plate
  4. revenue also isnt Sox's problem as well, 2nd highest payroll in the majors at around $127 million
  5. lee mazilli back to the yanks in 2006 possibly?
  6. dude trust me them spending millions of dollars on renovations on new seating areas and pavillions left and right doesnt bare any logic to several years ahead shelling out an extra $500 million or so on a new park. Im thinking Sox could be playing at Fenway Park up to 2020, and even by that time it will be protected by the historical society, as it turns its 100th bday in 2012
  7. well selling enough seats isnt their problem as theyre about to play their 200th consecutive sell out tomorrow
  8. you think their baserunning decisions have improved since the 2003 playoffs? haha
  9. anticiptaion for a sox/yanks series will be up higher as the longer wait in 2006 will be
  10. haha us die hard sox fans think alike posted threads at a minute apart--s*** yea i was thinking same thing and was hoping an interleague series have sox vs mets at fenway park, id pay whatever money to see the game pedro pitches
  11. from Boston.com Sox-Yanks won’t debut until May in 2006 By Boston.com Staff | August 11, 2005 Even in the middle of a pennant race, it’s never too early to start looking toward next season in Red Sox Nation. A major league source revealed to the Boston Globe’s Gordon Edes the Red Sox’ tentative 2006 schedule, which includes a stretch in which the Red Sox and Yankees face off 11 times in just over a month. The schedule still must be approved by the 30 team owners and is subject to change. According to the source, the Sox will open the season on the road in Arlington, Texas on Monday, April 3 for a three-game series against the Rangers. The Sox will then travel to Baltimore for a three-game stay versus the Orioles beginning April 7. After that, the team goes home to Boston to kick things off at Fenway April 10 against the Blue Jays. Boston’s first homestand will last 10 games, and includes the traditional April 17 Patriots Day morning matchup (against the Mariners). Unlike this season, when the Red Sox and Yankees squared off six times in April, the rivals won’t meet until May for the first of their 19 regular-season encounters. The first series between Boston and New York will be contested at Fenway on May 1-2. Just over a week later, the Sox head south to the Bronx to meet the Yankees from May 9-11. Then it’s back to Fenway for a three-game set May 22-24, and they’ll finish the busy stretch in New York from June 6-8. Oddly, none of these games take place on the weekend. However, the teams will wrap things up with a pair of four-game weekend sets in late summer, one in August (18-21, at Fenway), and one in September (14-17, at Yankee Stadium). Boston’s last five games of the regular season will be played at Fenway Park: two against the Devil Rays (Sept. 29-30) and three against the Orioles (Oct. 1-3). The Red Sox will take on teams from the NL East in interleague play in 2006. On the road, they’ll face the Phillies (May 19-21), Braves (June 16-18), and Marlins (June 30-July 2). At home, they’ll take on the Nationals, Phillies, and Mets during a nine-game homestand from June 19-29. The Mets series from June 27-29 is worth noting, as old friend Pedro Martinez will likely be making his return to Fenway Park. For the season, the Red Sox have no four-city road trips, and no four-team homestands. The source told Edes the schedule is subject to some minor revisions by the clubs, and has not yet been signed off on by the networks (ESPN and Fox). However, only minor tweaks are foreseen.
  12. our future closer is moving on up!! exciting to say the least
  13. not to mention, curt will be back as the ace of the rotation
  14. Notes: Foulke gets fitter Injured closer says he feels new crispness to pitches By Mike Petraglia / Special to MLB.com Keith Foulke (5-5, 6.23 ERA) will throw another session from the mound on Saturday. Any improvement is a victory to Keith Foulke. So when the injured Red Sox closer addressed reporters in front of his locker following his latest bullpen session before Wednesday's finale against the Rangers at Fenway Park, he was happy to explain why he was wearing a smile. "The bullpen session actually went much better today than it did the other day, so that's a positive," said Foulke, who began throwing off a mound Monday. "After my bullpen session on Monday, I wasn't real happy. I wasn't real happy with how I felt or how I threw, but today I go out there and pretty much from my first pitch off the mound, I had a little crispness on the ball. Breaking balls were good, and I'm starting to mess with the forkball again. And I'm happy." Foulke had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee July 7 and began working on a strengthening program shortly thereafter. "Post-surgery, I've definitely come a long ways. I went from not being able to walk upstairs to throwing off a mound in three weeks, so that's a good thing. "The doctors are happy and the [physical] therapists are all happy, so I guess we're going in the right direction. We're kind of pushing it now. I bust my tail every day when we come in here." Foulke, who hasn't placed a timetable on his return to the bullpen, threw 34 pitches off the mound, following a warm-up that included long toss. "I do long toss and then throw about 30 pitches or so," Foulke said. "I feel it. I'm not as ready as I thought I was. There are still times where I don't do things right, and I still feel my knee a little bit. Until we get that stuff [worked] out, and working on mechanical things, and when we get that figured out, that's when we'll be back." The right-hander was scheduled to throw another bullpen session Friday, but instead will throw off flat ground before throwing from mound again Saturday. "I was putting so much pressure on myself at the beginning of the year, it can't be any worse than that," said Foulke. "We're taking this opportunity to work on a lot of things. The team is doing well, so that makes it a lot easier, and I don't have to rush back due to us falling apart." Curt Schilling's effectiveness at the end of the bullpen has also taken some pressure off the need to rush Foulke back. "Curt's doing a great job," Foulke said. "It's going to allow me some time so when I do come back. It's the pitcher I used to be, not the one we saw at the beginning of the year." Foulke is anxious to show he's better than the hurler who posted a 5-5 record with a 6.23 ERA prior to the knee surgery. "I know I'm a better pitcher than what I was showing. If that guy comes back, you'll be talking to someone else next year," Foulke said. "Hopefully, when I come back, you'll see in the way that I pitch and how I come off the mound, you'll see that I feel better and stronger."
  15. best bet dude ebay, its been my friend this season. several times ive been lucky to get a single ticket for like $60 or less, very much worth the money
  16. considering Todd Pinkston is out for the whole season and this whole TO debacle again, Donovan might have to rely on some rookies and westbrook who just rejoined the team
  17. maybe TO can have a team of his own where he will play every position like that bugs bunny cartoon, haha
  18. i see the yanks maybe even an attempt at jason schmidt
  19. yeah jeez getting to see him play for the first time, for me was just unreal, fenway faithful was treating him like he's been a cult hero for awhile now, not sure if anybody could hear but in the 8th before he hit his 2nd double, section i was in above dougout were chanting "Tony G" "Tony G", it was awesome
  20. well Sox have set a new record for any team since end of 2003, im pretty sure tomorrow's game will be the 200th consecutive sellout. The fan craze that has been here since early 1900s and mix the with the fact Sox won it all last year, just about anybody who likes the Sox want to go to as many games as they can. like ive already been to like 15 games or so since april and still craving more
  21. i'll be first in line whenever they do start selling his red sox jersey replicas
  22. a day after taking a game off from him hurting his pinky on a slide home, tony g had 2 doubles last night driving in 3 runs while scoring 2 runs of his own, whats more impressive to me was that his first double was towards the green monster then his double in the 8th inning was driven to right field, great depth to have that he can put the ball anywhere In his first 15 games with the Sox, has not committed an error and has had 20 hits in 59 at bats (an overall .339 avg) 4 Doubles, 1 HR, 9 RBIs, 14 Runs scored, 3 Walks, 12 Ks, 2 for 3 Stolen Bases
  23. odds are on ESPN that there will be another sox/yanks fight in the offseason, this time trying to acquire aj burnett
  24. did anyone see that throw kap made to 3rd base from the right field, even though it didnt make it in time to tag the runner out, he just threw a lazer and accurate one at that to mueller
  25. theres even plans to build more seats the wrigley field way--take down the dunkin donuts siggn and other billboard in that area, and build extra floors on top of the building behind fenway with 250 extra seats on the roof or so and connecting the two buildings
