  1. thats now what, like 5 homeruns off of Yankee pitching in the first 3 games?
  2. haha yank fans bark at us for our pitching, but hmm we held Texas Rangers for 3 games without hitting a homerun, Fenway being a hitter's ballpark as well--only team to hold Texas Rangers homerless in a series
  3. going from double A ball to the playoffs against hardened veterans
  4. well Texas put in a bad pitcher for today, i mean 2 things (1) relief pitcher (2) i checked his f***ing stats and last time he pitched was on frigging July 9th !!!
  5. texas able to break up chances of a no hitter with a single, but all they could muster against mussina
  6. true but what did Roethlisberger do when he ended up in the playoffs? He started playing very much so as a rookie and handed the ball over. Could Hansen or Papelbon take on the roles of closing games against the White Sox and A's in the playoffs after just a month or so playing in the big leagues?
  7. sure thing for the stats. as for rowand, ozzie will have that on his mind and probably have him bat 3rd or cleanup at 4th
  8. pitcher vs. batter matchups Jon Garland vs: (career against Boston in 7 games has a 3-2 record with a 4.54 ERA) Johnny Damon, 6 for 17 (.438 avg) 2 Doubles, HR, 4 RBIs, 2 Ks, SB Edgar Renterria, 1 for 7 (.143 avg) RBI David Ortiz, 4 for 15 (.267 avg) 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 3 Walks, 2 Ks Manny Ramirez, 7 for 12 (.583 avg) 2 Doubles, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 4 Ks, K Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) 2 Ks Kevin Millar, 2 for 5 (.400 avg) Double, RBI, Walk Tony Graffanino, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) 2 Ks Bill Mueller, 3 for 8 (.375 avg) Double, RBI, 2 Walks Gabe Kapler, 6 for 15 (.400 avg) 2 Doubles, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, Walk, 4 Ks Jason Varitek, 2 for 8 (.250 avg) RBI, 2 Walks, 2 Ks Kevin Youkilis, 0 for 3, K Tim Wakefield vs: (career against Chicago in 24 games has a 4-10 record with a 5.58 ERA) Joe Crede, 4 for 11 (.364 avg) Jermaine Dye, 6 for 34 (.176 avg) Double, HR, 2 RBIs, Walk, 9 Ks Carl Everett, 6 for 13 (.462 avg) Double, Walk, 4 Ks Willie Harris, 0 for 6, 2 Ks Paul Konerko, 4 for 17 (.235 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, 4 Walks, 5 Ks Timo Perez, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) AJ Pierzynski, 5 for 16 (.313 avg) Double, HR, 4 RBIs, Walk, 2 Ks Scott Podsenik, 0 for 4 Aaron Rowand, 8 for 11 (.727 avg) 3 HRs, 7 RBIs, 2 Walks, SB Juan Uribe, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) HR, 3 RBIs Chris Widger, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) K
  9. Wakefield turned a fine performance last time which was in Minnesota striking out a career high 11 batters, lets hope his knuckle ball of his will be dancing with the White Sox today
  10. haha and ripping at TO's comments "last time i check my name is Terrell Owens, not Terrell Reid" and Donovan responded to the reporters "Hey did you know my name is Donovan McNabb?"--He was having a fun time, he's a cool guy, if Eagles werent playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl, wouldve def rooted Donovan on
  11. but man lets just say Red Sox are able to wheel and deal to get Konerko in the mix as the starting 1st baseman, i mean how f***ing good would that be!! besides his defense, how would pitchers feel if expected in the lineup are the 3-4-5 hitters being Ortiz, Manny, and Konerko
  12. Matt Cassel has got some good stuff with 13 of 20 for 135 yds with a touchdown, and got great scrambles. rohan davey is still what we've seen before. backups should be Flutie, Cassel, and 4th being Davey
  13. Wakefield is undoubtedly coming off of one of his best starts in '05 with a career high 11 strikeouts. Lets hope he can put the bullpen at ease by going late into games which he has done repeatedly this season.
  14. yeaah ok we're racists. but really why we dislike carl everett is because he was basically our "Terrell Owens", all in all a complete *******. Before he left Boston he talked to the reporters disrespecting the Red Sox organization and all of us Red Sox fans
  15. I loved watching press conference of Donovan McNabb, he's a cool stand up guy and didnt mind at all to address TO "Be a man and tell me what you need to say face to face, dont hide behind the cameras"
  16. um im not even saying at all that manny and damon are both going to go at same time, im saying that they are both in question for 2006. like how damon's contract deals are still uncertain, and sox have always before tried to move manny in the offseason
  17. well true undoubtedly but always fun to bask in the glow of your respected teams doing well---which im sure you were with the yanks having a 10 game winning streak, and doing very well in july and at one point taking the lead in the AL East for a day
  18. well maybe sox are eyeing after both of them, since Aubrey Huff can play the outfield and *gulp* Damon and Manny are both in question for 2006
  19. on boston.com, Gordon Edes talking about how Sox are interested in bringing in Huff to possibly be the new 1st baseman, as well as Paul Konerko could be in their sites when he becomes a free agent this offseason.
  20. thats right one game at a time, going into tomorrow's game with a 5 game lead over the yankees, thanks
  21. get this ok, Sox have by far the best offense in the American League but also as of late for the current stretch of games in August--In the 5 game winning streak, the lowest ammount of runs Boston has scored was 8!! all in all outscoring opponents 55-33, averaging 11 runs a game in that stretch. In yankees stretch of last 5 games, they have outscored their opponents 20-19. Mark my words Sox will always find a way to rally to win, as shown many times before this
  22. haha oh yeah did chicago calm the Sox's bats, 9 runs off of 13 hits including 3 homeruns--Boston's second whipping of Mark Buehrle this season, the 2nd best pitcher in the American League
