  12. ah well haha i got some slack for putting this in the game thread forum, so i figured sox and yanks are biggest rivals in sports history, its only convenient to put it in the fights thread enjoy, may the best teams win tonight across the board
  13. Rays look to even score with Yankees New York (65-52) at Tampa Bay (46-73), 7:15 p.m. ET Randy Johnson vs. Doug Waechter After losing to the Yankees, 5-2, on Monday, the Devil Rays will try to grab one back at Tropicana Field on Tuesday night. The loss snapped Tampa Bay's three-game winning streak. The Rays, who went 6-6 on their last road trip, are one game into a 13-game homestand. They finish this three-game series against the Yankees on Wednesday, then host Texas for three games. Left-hander Randy Johnson will start for the Yankees. In his last start, the Big Unit allowed five earned runs on 10 hits over four innings, as the Yankees fell to Toronto, 8-5, on Aug. 6. Johnson missed his last start because of back pain. Doug Waechter will start for the Devil Rays. The right-hander pitched seven innings at Baltimore on Thursday, but gave up four earned runs on seven hits en route to a 4-2 loss. Randy Johnson has not had "Cy Young" success against the Devil Rays to say the least. This season, he is 1-0 with a 10.45 ERA in 2 games (10 1/3 innings) giving up 14 Hits (5 Homeruns), 13 Runs, 1 Walk, and 11 Ks. Pitching matchup NYY: LHP Randy Johnson • 11-7, 4.29 ERA in 2005 • 0-1, 10.45 ERA vs. TB in 2005 TB: RHP Doug Waechter • 4-8, 5.32 ERA in 2005 • 1-0, 5.14 ERA vs. NYY in 2005
  14. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/5820 he'd be the guy to get out righties. This season with the Marlins, he held right handed batters to just a .130 batting avg!!
  15. haha yeah its something like 8 years in a row American League have easily won them
  16. well we dont have to worry about that this season since the American League team had won it in July
  17. . Now with Mike Remlinger a lefty who has shown what he's capable of. I can only hope hes gets DFA'ed, what help can he really bring? Really Perisho is the more viable option than this clone of John Halamma, his time in Pawtucket in 5 games (6 innings pitched) has a 1-0 recod with an ERA of 3.00, 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and striking out 3
  18. why not if pap does another great start, getting the win under his belt, lead sox managemnt to maybe move arroyo back to the bullpen and pap to the #5 starter role? Arroyo sharing closing and setup duties with Timlin. Hell 1st innings of games he pitches in, is basically when he does his best
  19. jesus, why cant we just take one game at a time? one loss and now "its better luck next year"
  20. i hopped off of my couch last night when Rent' ran to home when the ball was grounded out to third. didnt understand what was gopin on there
  21. well thats convenient, his last post was 7/31
  22. "you guys are way too confident" dude we have actual 100% belief and trust in the Red Sox. Yes there's been ups and down for the Red Sox as there is for every team every year, god stop being "Mr Downer, or funkill". we are just living in the moment, nothing wrong with that.--and Sox do best at home where they play 24 of out of last 45 games. the Yanks play 25 out of next 44 games away from yankee satdium
  23. when i heard there would be an open start for today's game i thought right away either gonzo would get the start or Sox would call up their big prospect that he is, Jon Lester--But still happy nonetheless, i was at the game he pitched for the Sox against the Twins, he's got the stuff just needs to control location
