  1. WEEI is reporting that there is speculation Kevin Millar might have been the unaminous Red sox player talking that smack about Schilling
  2. To make room for Stanton, Wade Miller was transferred to the 60 day disabled list
  3. if he's able to help us, why not? this is a big key series, and it helps if you have another veteran relief pitcher. Besides Sox will now benefit with 3 left-handed relievers in Myers, Stanton, and DiNardo. Stanton did do a respectable job with the Nationals in 30 games. 2-1 record with a 3.58 ERA
  4. um haha, im speechless what is it about that most players on the red sox and yankees current rosters have played for or will someday play for the rival team? i guess its tradition dating back to babe ruth
  5. The Chicago White Sox have clinched the Central with their win against Detroit this afternoon. Question now is, will Chicago still give up a fight against the Guardians this wknd? time will tell starting tomorrow
  6. I heard the Orioles are a viable contender to try and sign Piazza as their DH next year. He'd provide a reliable bat for them
  7. I'll take David Wells' 18 wins against the Yanks with a 3.09 ERA any day. besides the fact this season at home he does best going 7-1 with a 3.00 ERA. He gives the definition of "big gamer" and yes i know what im gonna hear, "oh but he has a bad knee" that didnt stop him from beating the Orioles and into the 7th inning, did it?
  8. yawn, one game back and yet its over for the sox yea whatever dude. Ive seen Sox come back worse than this. and who's saying wakefield will do bad on saturday? most likely it will be another pitcher's duel and its not likely sox's offensive struggles will continue when the playoffs are here which is starting tonight through sunday so if the sox win, and cleveland loses which knowing tampa bay they could lose, sox would then be up a game over the Guardians. But the season is automatically over from one game? You should really check yourself, if you think this 3 game series will be a sweep for ny
  9. listen pal i was taking about that his f***ing defense has improved, not his offense
  10. best offense: edgar is continuing to heat it up which is great to see as in the 1st inning he hit his 8th HR to straight-away center field and scored the only 2 runs the Sox were able to muster up. Edgar has a current 6 game hitting streak (at least one extra base hit in those games) and has scored 5 Runs in the first 3 games. Big Papi collected his majors leading 144th RBI. dishonorable mention: Really everybody as 11 men were left on base, enough to even at least tie up the game. Manny had went 0-4 and stranded 4 men on base, Tek continuing his never-ending slump went 0-3, Millar did have a hit but stranded 5 men on base, and Tony G also had a hit but still had stranded 4 men on base with his outs. An offensive slump at Fenway is not a good thing to see right now. best pitching: Lenny DiNardo had really helped keep the Sox in the game as he went 4 strong innings giving up just the 1 hit (double that let 2 runners score) he walked 3 and struck out 2. Manny Delcarmn making his bid that he should be played more had a scoreless inning of relief. Myers also did a good job to close out the 9th. dishonorable mention: i think thats kind of obvious best defense: bill mueller, swear to god he better be heavily considered for a gold glove
  11. yeaa, how'd he help the cowboys last season?
  12. we will see how he does dude his most important game yet--playoffs game in Fenway Park come Friday and I really dont think Sox will play like they have against the Jays
  13. big difference, yea the sox's bullpen from 4th inning to the end didnt allow any runs to the jays--yanks bullpen gave up like what, 10 the other day?--be afraid if one of the yanks starters this wknd doesnt last that long
  14. Get ready Sox fans, tomorrow will be Matt Clement's biggest start in his Red Sox career pure cinematic drama to say the least
  15. The first 3 games of this 7 game homestand the Sox have stranded 24 base runners, overall total runs scored: 10 Runs
  16. thats the f***ing game!!!! 11 men left on base, their offense slumping like this still at home, yea good luck on that last 4 games
  17. damn it edgar and johnny--ok manny here we go, papi with a nice single that was almost caught
  18. DiNardo, Delcarmen and Myers have combined for brilliant 6 shutout innings
  19. tonight our bullpen didnt faulter, taking over in the 4th and not giving up any more runs--it became the offense's game to lose, 10 men left on base and just needed 5 runs to at least tie it
  20. woo-hoooo a f***ing pop up---sox batters have now left 10 men on base, and are 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position
  21. trot grounds out again, now with 2 outs for tony g
  22. get something going please, first 7 innings sox have left 8 men on base, they have had their chances before
  23. Billy Ballgame with a hit, sox threatening with 2 men on and 1 out
  24. DiNardo helped keep the Sox in the game, def a viable option if by some chance sox make it to late october. i hope offense gets something going--they havent really been runs crazy in a bit at Fenway in awhile now
  25. tampa has just blanked cleveland 1-0, Seth McClung with the win going 8 strong innings--at least theres that
