  1. riight Ortiz as a DH hasnt stepped up above and beyond all offensive players who play the field you say? name one DH you think is better than Ortiz... yeah thats what i thought 20 of his 47 HR have either tied or gave the go ahead runs. not to mention he leads the majors with 146 RBIs, but yea his game winning hits and such havent stepped up and byeond for his team. get your head checked.
  2. as well as didnt analysts, yankee and sox fans alike all agreed that derek lowe would be very hittable and such? no he stepped it up when the pressure came on
  3. lets not forget about Mike Myers has been in the past couple weeks turning in solid relief outings, last night closing out the 9th and now tonight setting up paps with 1.1 innings giving up just a walk in the end
  4. omg this is awesome seeing Papelbon with intensity emotions on the mound. Im getting flashbacks to clemens when he was still a red sox, and doing the fist pumps and barking out stuff to batters and his teammates. It something the rotation lost this season when Pedro had left. Papelbon is the real deal and ultimately very well could be the next Roger Clemens
  5. Papelbon earns his 3rd career win, i just realized that in his rookie season he has had the blue jays number. 2-0 with an 0.00 ERA, 6 2/3 straight scoreless innings
  6. i mean cmon has now 20 HRs that have tied or gave the sox the go-ahead runs--he is mr. clutch and he is just 29 from the 7th inning and on Papi: 19 HRs, 50 RBIs Arod: 9 HRs, 23 RBIs
  7. yes!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the turning point we need, what else but another f***ing walkoff win by our big papi. mvp cough cough
  8. yankee fans talking about that Papelbon will crumble under pressure? yeah right
  9. f***, these damn outfielders the blue jays have keep making web gem plays to rob sox of extra base hits and most especially runs
  10. olerud and mueller are not clutch this inning
  11. i ask and papi f***ing responds!!!!
  12. oh believe me they are already planning out him as part of the rotation for 2006. Thus far he is a thorn in the blue jays' side , 5.2 scoreless innings he has pitched against them
  13. Paps and Rent have done in this 8th what should be inspiring to the offense coming up, right?--just need at least one run to tie it up--leading off are papi, manny, tek
  14. um yea johnny this isnt golf you are playing
  15. all the more reason for him to be called in a close game. this is the guy who threw 3 shutout innings against the blue jays in toronto that helped the sox win in extra innings. in 8 out of his last 10 games has not allowed any runs, his ERA in September is now well below 2
  16. Paps with teh way of the K--now cmon boys just need one run tie the sucker up, any other runs you could gather this inning is also greatly appreciated
  17. billy ball game's hot hitting has cooled down since coming back home--rally ending DP Paps gets the ball for the 7th & 8th its looking like so far
  18. i go out to take my dog for a walk and i see 4-3
  19. ok so far the blue jays bullpen has thrown 7.1 scoreless inning against the sox this series--this is just as good time as any to stop that streak
  20. in 4 game series boston has scored 11 runs--less than 3 runs a game, they cant do that against ny unless all 3 of our pitchers throw sutouts
  21. well isnt our offense just tearing the cover off the ball--would you frigging wake up yet?

  24. Bedard opposes Small in finale New York (93-65) at Baltimore (71-87), 7:05 p.m. ET In Thursday's series finale -- and home finale for the Orioles -- against the Yankees, left-hander Erik Bedard will finish what has undoubtedly been a disappointing season after such an impressive start. Since he began the year 5-1 with a 2.08 ERA, Bedard is 1-6 with a 5.01 ERA in 14 starts. He has not won a decision since beating the Devil Rays on Aug. 9, and he also has seven no-decisions in that span, a testament to his inability to pitch deep into games. Bedard's counterpart, journeyman Aaron Small, has been a wunderkind for the Yankees after being stuck in Triple-A Columbus for most of the season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Small, a 31-year-old with his sixth Major League team, is the fourth Yankee pitcher to begin his New York career with nine wins. He faced the Orioles on Sept. 20 and allowed four runs and 10 hits in five innings but earned his ninth win. The Orioles played well enough to win Wednesday against the Yankees, but they were unable to penetrate the New York bullpen and dropped a tough 2-1 decision as the Yankees forged a one-game lead in the American League East over Boston. The Orioles are 1-9 in this 11-game stretch against the Red Sox and Yankees. The Orioles produced just five hits against right-hander Shawn Chacon and the New York bullpen and are hitting .270 as a club, tied for sixth in the American League. Also, the Orioles are just 11th in the AL in runs scored, which was a primary reason why they struggled in the second half. Miguel Tejada is two RBIs away from his sixth consecutive 100-RBI season. Pitching matchup BAL: LHP Erik Bedard • 6-7, 3.74 ERA in 2005 • 0-0, 3.00 ERA vs. NYY in 2005 NYY: RHP Aaron Small • 9-0, 3.25 ERA in 2005 • 1-0, 7.20 ERA vs. BAL in 2005 Player to watch Veteran B.J. Surhoff could be playing his final game at Camden Yards as he remains non-committal about his future. Surhoff has four hits in six career at-bats against Small and is hitting .267 against righties this season. Quick hits The Orioles have not won a season series against the Yankees since 1997, and they have dropped 21 of the past 23 series against the Bombers. ... The Orioles also dropped to 12-25 in one-run games. ... Daniel Cabrera finished 6-8 with a 3.25 ERA in 18 starts at Camden Yards this season. ... With one home game left, the Orioles are expected to draw more than 2.6 million fans.
  25. he does fit the complaints of schilling not get booed. hes been having an otherwise lackluster season, and he knows 2005 is his last with the sox. just bitter
