  1. dude dont even start with me. i was naming names off the top of my head. im not like "jimmy carter05" remember that i said wells, abe alavrez and another prospect which could be kelly shoppach. Wells has requested he'd like to go to a team on the West and he always delivers for big games, enticing for the A's none-the-less. And Arroyo if any trade involving him, it would most likely be involved in a 1st baseman deal.
  2. no doubt so far in my mind we could see DelCarmen take over the setup role in 2007. type of relief pitching to ring up K's in bunches
  3. i think also what was on his mind is how each season for the Marlins they have had the lowest attendance of all baseball parks (even D-Rays beat them out, thats sad)
  4. its been reported that the yankees, like the red sox, will be looking to add a new 1st baseman to their roster. Yankees will surely let Tino walk, and their plan is to make Giambi a full time DH due to his lack of defensive play at 1st base. Duncan, their prized prospect has recently in the AFL games has been having some playing time at 1st base. Suggesting he could vie for a spot in the opening day roster. Duncan in the AFL games is tearing it up with a .377 avg, 6 HRs, 7 Doubles and 17 RBIs. For a center fielder yankees will try to look into dealing gold glover Torri Hunter, in which the Twins would acquire an infielder and a starting pitcher. Wright, Wang, Chacon or Small are being listed as possible players Yankees would deal. The Marlins Juan Pierre is also being listed, but he averages 2 or 3 HRs a year and not one to drive in many runs. Id say New York should stray from trades that might hurt them in the end, and go for like free agent Juan Encarcion whos just 29 and quite a defensive outfielder with pop in his bat.
  5. DiNardo has the best makeup to serve as the long reliever, what he did in the month of September being the pennant push alone showed he can handle pressure. He has great stuff as well to be a starting pitcher (an asset in case one of the starters gets injured or whatever)
  6. side note: here's yet another pitching prospects of ours moving up quickly to Fenway. sweet time it is
  7. good to get this out of the way! look forward to seeing you again on the mound Timlin. well just not with inherited runners ah i kid
  8. the way this offseason is going for both clubs, i can guarantee our teams will meet and it will most likely probably be another hell of a ride hopefully both rotations actually stay healthy i think we can agree 2005 was a topsy turvy baseball season
  9. sox should in 2006 have a platoon of Timlin and Foulke, or if able to get BJ Ryan or Scott Eyre have either of them platoon with Foulke just to have him on a short leash. Anything again of what we saw this season through the all star break, Sox should definitely explore trading him
  10. no douybt he's a great guy and he has his moments of great pitching. but just food for thought being: 6 starts he made he had lasted 5 innings or less. 1 of those starts had given up 6 ER, other 5 had given up 7 ER
  11. this had me laughing hard oh ok just because a poll on ESPN say so, thats how it is. who else has polls remembered that came out over a year ago?? i mean cmon dude, red sox and yankees are the biggest rivalry in baseball, nay... in all of sports. cubs and white sox will only play against each other in spring training, the interleague games, or the smallest chance a cubs/white sox world series. red sox and yankees have had such a long and tenuous history against one another in the past 100 years, playing up to 20 games a season against one another. as well as multiple playoff showdowns. He is purely dilluted, they arent the biggest rivalry. not at all...
  12. Arroyo isnt tied up to the Sox, contract wise. entering this off-season he will be arbitation eligible (2006 team option). he seems likely to be dealt in any 1st baseman deal
  13. so more waiting for us to hear if Theo will be back...
  14. i didnt say it was, i just popped in a certain secnario
  15. Amen to that! Andruw Jones to come in after Manny leaves, we would get the same thing in a run producing machine except more all star defense and none of the jogging to 1st base which happened more than once. Or even what if say Damon is signed to the Angels which he's indicated hed love to play for. Andruw Jones would be acquired through a Sox/Braves trade (he's still on contract for 2 seasons for $26 million) and Manny is still on board with any trade talks falling flat 3. David Ortiz 4. Manny Ramirez 5. Andruw Jones can you say... a trio that would have opposing pitchers pissing their pants?
  16. ??? who are you to talk like this? red sox nation just had to wait 86 years, and the white sox didnt win it all the way in 88 years. get off your high horse and realize its been a year, not 86 years since the last world series win for boston. at least red sox have made it there more times compared to white sox's first visit since 1959 thats because it happened this year, they said that about the marlins and diamondbacks as well. Red Sox had beaten a curse last year, and did the unthinkable come back, down from 3 games to beat the Yankees, then had swept the heavily favored Cardinals. yeah look at your posts youve done, you are quite the mature one
  17. Cano and Wang will sure help out the Yankees in the long run, as well as Duncan who will probably make his debut sometime in 2006. New York just needs to maintain their farm, and stray less from the big long contracts that have hurt them in the recent years
  18. hey kids heres how to be immature (*cough* try me *cough*) anyways... whatever you say doesnt defend how a $200 million team was beaten up and tired by the ALDS. the big players with big contracts they have recently signed didnt live up to anything in the playoffs or even get that far (Johnson, Arod, Wright, Pavano). Those 4 players combined in 2005 had made $58 million. no doubt Chashman is a great GM but in the end all the money in the world wont buy you teamwork and championships... the reason why the yankees had won those 4 world series from 96 to 2000 was because they had a great farm system producing up and coming solid ballplayers, along with a healthy rotation. as time went on the yankees tossed out their prospects like candy for aging all star players who are on the wrong side of 30.
  19. i see John Olerud being resigned as the 1st baseman backup, he produced in limited at bats for the Sox (7 HRs, 37 RBIs) and quickly became a fan favorite, and is best late innings defensive replacement there is currently. my favorite moment of 2005 of olerud was his 6 RBI game against the O's including 2 HRs. As for 2nd base it will be a platoon of Pedroia/Cora, or Graffanino/Pedroia. I heard on WEEI that Sox in spring training could offer Alejandro Machado a chance to win the 3rd base backup if Youkilis becomes the regular, or they could sign free agent former Blue Jays infielder Frank Menechino to take on the backup duties.
  20. Halladay in 10 games pitched at Fenway is 3-3 with a 4.28 ERA
  21. oh thank the lord once i see it in black and white theo is here to stay. get this deal done with ASAP, and lets get onto the next big deals. try to resign Johnny if he cooperates, and a 1st baseman trade deal.
  22. i guess there will be a new manager for the White Sox in 2006. because hasnt Ozzie said time and time again this season if they win it all, he will retire. then again it mightve been him just "talking."
