  1. Tito is going to Timlin with runner on 2nd base
  2. Hafner is 4 for 6 against Schilling, and he has thrown 135 pitches yeaaa sorry Schil but your night is done, hell it shouldve been done after 6 innings
  3. 110 pitches... and the expected 3 are blake, sizemore, michaels. Ok
  4. Same happened in Beckett's first start, and he somehow dug back for good pitches to last 7 innings
  5. well right now their bullpen isnt good. Wickman & Mota are the main guys you dont want to face. Betancourt & Miller are both on the DL. The remaining pitchers are buffet time for the Sox lineup.
  6. ok Bard has been getting better with each start, Wakefield is comfortable with him and it has shown. A thorn in Wakefield's side has been that the Sox bats seem to take a holiday when he's pitching, they need to answer the call tomorrow. first start- 4 passed balls last 3 starts- 2 passed balls first start- 7 Runs in 3.2 innings last 3 starts- 7 Runs (4 ER) in 24 innings pitched 5 total run support from Sox offense in his first 4 starts
  7. Id rather say he's best suited for long relief. How can he be a situational lefty if lefties have a career .300 batting avg against him?
  8. its the only al opponent he hasnt beat while with the red sox. He does have a 1-2 record against them, that win coming in an interleague game in his time with Philadelphia or Arizona
  9. Dont worry, its a good first thread. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. Is Harris, Damon's replacement? No he is not. Coco Crisp is and he will be back in like 2/3 weeks from now. Willie was brought in during spring training to really just be a bench player/pinch runner. Im still in belief that Dustan Mohr will get the majority of ABs in center field for the next few weeks. I hardly see that we're heading for another lost season, throwing in the towel after 19 games really isnt the way to go. Bard has purely gotten better catching Wake since that day in Texas. Since then Wake has had 3 starts, 6 Runs (4 ER) in 24 innings pitched. First start had 4 passed balls, next 3 starts has had 2 passed balls. Wake's losses have mainly been due to a lack of run support, even last season it was a problem. Im not yet worrying about Gonzo, he has already saved his share of runs. Which is what he was mainly brought on board for. If his offense continues as it is now, look for a call up for the promising Dustin Pedroia. Id say July is a good estimation, if not sonner than that. About DiNardo, a 5th starter is the easiest starting pitcher that a GM can find. Something will be done if his next start remains shaky, gotta keep the faith.
  11. Burnett might not be back until June. JP Riccardi indicated that it could be 4 weeks, it could be 6 weeks. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060425.BLUEJAYS25/TPStory/TPSports/
  12. All in the family? Though not for this year's draft, Papelbon's little twin brothers (also pitchers) are excelling at the University of Florida. It would be a great story if Sox were to draft them as well if/when they go into the draft. Both of them currently have ERA's under 3, Jeremy is a left-hander, Josh is a side arming right-hander. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=136546&format=&page=2
  13. Im up for this 3 Wins 5 HRs EDIT: 33 total runs
  14. Chacon... Well, its gonna be bad until proven otherwise. Boston roughed him up as a Colorado pitcher, then as a Yankee pitcher last season. Beckett by far has a better shot of pitching a good game
  15. ooh clement really close now Tito dont let loyalty stand in the way, bullpen in the 6th. Clement has given all he could give
  16. May Clement rid his troubles of facing the Blue Jays. If not, may the Sox bats be able to contend in a slug fest.
  17. Sox sent Stern down so he could play every day, up to 500 ABs. A big reason was because he hasnt yet found his niche against major league pitching. Willie Harris isnt here to be a starter, just a utility guy. We're likely to see Dustan Mohr get the majority of starts until Coco gets back. I like Stern too, but him getting everyday seasoning in the minors can only help him improve
  18. Hey yankee fans, just a query As the rotation stands now, here's the Sox starting pitchers for the 2 game series against NY May 1st- The steady knuckler Wake May 2nd- Beckett's first matchup since that October 03 night Any idea who will be pitching for the pinstripes? RJ vs Beckett matchup would be a sweet deal.
  19. no leadoff hitter? Youk has been doing a very good job leading off
  20. somebody explain to me, Pete Walker got a save today and he came in to protect an 8-1 lead.
  21. Jermaine Van Buren has been optioned to Pawtucket. In comes Manny DelCarmen who has had a hot start to the AAA season.
  22. dude come off it, "you guys are going to lose all these games". Your dribble lacks logic murderer's rows? Sox swept O's, 2 of 3 from D-rays. Schilling, Beckett, & Wake are pitching great for us... wishful thinking if you think the Sox will fall on their faces in a snap
  23. huh? Im thinking like this because each start he has made against Toronto, he's gotten hammered. The stats speak loud against him.
  24. 3 game losing streak, could be 4 tomorrow with Clement pitching in his house of horrors
