  1. Clement has an ERA close to 7 since the All-Star Break last season, that doesnt include his pathetic game 1 vs the White Sox. How can Sox fans not become inpatient with him?
  2. I didnt say a sweep game 3- toss up (doesnt mean im betting on a win) Im thinking it could be 2 out of 3. This season Sox have done unexpectedly well against rookie pitchers for the first time.
  3. Beckett can sometimes show brief stints of brilliance, I just have a good feeling about tonights game Thats why I said game 3 is a toss up, meaning it could go either way. I do realize that he has been better than Wells, dont need to be told that at all. Just calling it a toss-up because this season the Sox havent been that much affected by rookie pitchers they have faced for the first time. Maybe they'll keep this offensive surge going. Wells has been good in his last 2 starts, good test to see if he can continue
  4. Beckett vs Robertson-- Edge, Red Sox Schilling vs Bonderman-- Edge, Red Sox Wells vs Verlander-- toss up
  5. Maybe its just hope, Clement in a Sox uniform in 2007 would be an utter disgrace
  6. Tell that to Gordon Edes & Sean MacAdamns, respected writers who know what they are talking about. I'll trust them & their sources before I hear an opinion on a message board, no offense What has Clement shown to Boston to think any positive thoughts for 2007... the answer is nothing. He has been the worst starting pitcher since the All-Star Break last year. Dont give me the "hit in the head" excuse, he was bad in his 3 starts prior to that day in Tampa Bay. What is best for the team is to get rid of Clement, getting rid of him instantly improves the pitching staff. $10 million long relief man, somehow I dont see Theo writing that down as a possibility. Tavarez would be a cheaper and same results type long man.
  7. Sox were willing to rid themselves of E-Rent's remaining 3 year/$30 million contract. Sox officials (especially Theo) have quickly realized this is another signing gone bad. Clement cant handle the spotlight that is playing in Boston and pitching in the playoffs. I can guarantee you have seen the last of Clement in a Sox uni
  8. The Sox will not retain Clement for next season. It is foolish to think so. Even though Clement was said to be slowly improving in his workouts, the Sox have quietly shut him down for the rest of the season. Gordon Edes, Sean MacAdam, etc have said that according to team sources, they will most likley: include him in a trade with taking chunk of his remaining salary, or place him on waivers & buy out his contract if he clears By All accounts Schilling Beckett Papelbon (If he reamins closer, free agent acquisition like Jason Schmidt) Lester Wakefield Lugo or no Lugo, Pedroia is still favored to be the starting 2nd baseman in 07
  9. I just started the night shift, I came home and was just checking my email before i went to bed
  10. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060813&content_id=1608045&vkey=news_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla Boston is reportedly looking for relief help. But in a waiver period, I dont see it happening. A deal in the offseason could happen if both teams are still interested
  11. If not for the Cubs extending him, the Sox were expected to make a big push for Derrek Lee
  12. Trot Nixon through the end of May had 5 HRs, 28 RBIs. His power is declining and everyone was expecting for him to get on the DL again, sure enough it happened. From a power corner outfielder, he has turned into a singles hitter who can now draw his fair share of walks! Wily Mo has more HRs and closing in on same ammont of RBIs in less games/ABs. Coco has also been heating up since the All-Star Break. Trot's credentials this season merits him to become a bench player/clubhouse guy for remainder of the season
  13. ok... I highlighted that it says they think Wily Mo will have a good advanatge of getting most of the starts in center field over Coco Crisp when righties are on the mound... the time that Trot gets back. It should be obvious to everyone, at least I think it should, that Wily Mo Pena has earned the starting right field job and shouldnt be involved in any s***** plattons anymore. Its not about defense at all
  14. Im going to do some research in that, the season is ending very soon
  15. writers of rotoworld, like usual, dont know what theyre talking about
  16. updated stats 2-6, 2.69 ERA (12 starts) 60.1 innings, 47 Hits, 24 Runs (18 ER), 2 HRs, 31 Walks, 61 Ks
  17. updated stats .298 avg, .381 obp, 32 Doubles, Triple, 7 HRs, 43 RBIs, 47 Runs, 40 Walks, SB
  18. updated stats 2-3, 2.52 ERA (10 starts) 50 innings, 35 Hits, 16 Runs (14 ER), 6 HRs, 11 Walks, 34 Ks
  19. Foxsports.com Ken Rosenthal in his weekly baseball report spoke about how Vernon Wells turned down a contract extension, and will probably do so in the offseason. Which I guess would prompt a trade. Rosenthal sees the Rangers & Angels as the 2 most likely places he would go to. That would be a sigh of relief to see him leave the AL East. Especially for Beckett EDIT: Sorry Mods, I meant to post this in the rumor mill
  20. Im going to go into convulsions if I see Tito start Trot right away when he comes back from the DL
  21. I did it because I wanted to find a picture that would fit in todays game of him sucking, this one was too enticing not to post.
  22. Dating back to last season, its a 1-15 slide
  23. LMAO I did a search for pictures of Jason Johnson. How true is this guys? http://www.readerweekly.us/issue/readerweekly/images/Jason_Johnson.jpg
  24. Jason Johnson is just an afterthought --Bullpen of Hansen, Timlin, Papelbon hold the line for 4 scoreless innings -- Great to see other guys than 3-4 were able to get it done. --Pena well just continues to stamp his name in the lineup card, how about the #5 spot now Tito? Then Youk move down to the 7 or 8 spot to solidify the bottom of the order --Mirabelli had one of his classic big swinging days, which included another clutch game tying HR --Manny enough said, I had a feeling he could be the game winner --Great Defense These last 2 games are just showing the type of moxy these guys should be playing like. Hoping this is the momentum shift here
  25. technically his first walkoff hit. Last season facing the A's in September, he was hit with the bases loaded
