  1. Fair enough. I figured it was just a bad showing. For what it's worth, when Reggie McNeal is on his game, I'd take him over Vincent Young.
  2. Congratulations, Big Papi!
  3. I don't think so. Your boys from A&M cost me $10 when they played CU. I just handed over the money after the 1st quarter when CU had, like, a 20 point lead. And Texas dismantled CU.
  4. Agreed. Let's face it. Even though I think they deserve to be #1, Texas is only in first to cause controversy and to get people talking.
  5. The push actually doesn't happen as often as you'd like to think it does because when the QB is in the pile of players and the pile is moving, it's not a penalty. Not very often does the QB get stuffed spin to his side and get a two handed push to the chest. You admit it was a missed call. What difference does it make how often it's called? A rule is a rule and one of the higher ups in terms of NCAA Football officiating said it should've been a penalty. The spot... I can live with the spot. Another penalty had to do with Pete Carroll's son, and Assistant Coach, was down by the goalline calling for a timeout. Not only did they have no timeouts, but being by the goalline, he was obviously WELL outside of the coaches box. Both penalties... neither called. As for the fumble in the OSU game -- it was a turnover, but like I said, it was a FORCED turnover. He didn't just drop the ball. USC won by 3. The Notre Dame kicker, Fitzpatrick, shanked a very makable FG not long before USC's final possession. Really... is that any different than OSU fumbling?
  6. USC was outplayed for 3 quarters as well! I'm not going to reward USC for mistakes in officiating. As for not being able to hold onto the ball... the OSU player wasn't just running and the ball slipped out... their last fumble was forced. Texas won the game over OSU fair and square over a team that is lights out at home... USC won a road game at Notre Dame, where they JUST won their first home game, this year. No matter how you look at it, USC shouldn't have won that game.
  7. You also said it wasn't more impressive than USC's win at Notre Dame... how was it not? Notre Dame had already lost a home game to Michigan State before that game -- meanwhile, OSU had been lights out in non-conference home games. Besides, as I already mentioned, the controversy surrounding the means by which USC beat Notre Dame by -- USC lost that game if not for poor officiating. Any of 2 missed penalty calls would've been game over for USC.
  8. To be fair -- how many QB's have played the position with Vick's style?
  9. As for Michael Vick, say what you want about him, or his ability to throw the ball -- there isn't one player in the game that's more difficult to gameplan against in the NFL than Michael Vick. There's a reason his name seems to be the stock answer to the question 'who is the most difficult player to defend against?' when asked amongst NFL players. But seriously, get the guy some recievers and then let's judge him.
  10. Maybe you have to not be a Pats fan to notice it, but yeah, ESPN has been all over the Patriots' cock. It's gotten to the point where I went from cheering for the Patriots some, to wanting to see the dynasty fall flat on it's face because every game they win, I know it'll be a week full of hearing about another clutch, Tom Brady drive with an exclamation point in the form of a Vinatieri FG. Between ESPN's coverage and all the commercials featuring the Patriots, they're shoved down our throats entirely too much.
  11. Not completely sure what exactly you're looking for, but here's a site with a detailed history of the team -- As well as just about any other team. http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/al/bosox/redsox.html
  12. Me too. Got a mid-term in the morning.
  13. Nobody can deny the similarities. Similar hair color, even.
  14. If they're going to rig it so the White Sox win the World Series, they could atleast be less obvious. No team has ever benefitted from so many blatantly obvious missed calls. Posednik should've been out... now he's on second.
  15. Lidge is looking good tonight. How great would it be if he hit a walkoff HR in the bottom half of the 10th, assuming they let him hit? That'd be a hell of a story.
  16. Before Texas went on the road and beat OSU -- when was the last time OSU had lost a non-conference home game? Besides, I think the people who've voted for Texas in the human polls are justifiably holding the means by which USC beat Notre Dame against them. And no, you shouldn't have to beat the Champions to be #1... last season has nothing to do with this season. That's the strength of the computers... they don't take last year in consideration.
  17. I think Eli will win a Super Bowl before Peyton. Eli can win the big games. He could in college, atleast.
  18. YES! Vizcaino!!!! What a game this has turned out to be!
  19. ... I hate to cry conspiracy, but the White Sox are the beneficiaries of yet another blown call -- and it leads to a Grand Slam. Ridiculous.
  20. And if the defense has to, almost constantly, put 8 men in the box to stop the run, it's not particularly difficult to have a high QB Rating.
  21. ... Jason f***ing Elam gave the Giants new life with a missed FG. Giants will, in all likelihood, beat the Broncos.
  22. No doubt. Atleast they dumped the 'scoreboard' look on the scoreboard at the top of the screen. Now all they need to do is drop all the sound effects, scooter, and their s***** commentators and watching a broadcast on Fox won't make me want to shoot myself. Remember last year when they opened the ALCS with some crappy Star Wars opening? I wish I could gouge out my memory because of that.
  23. He's in a system where he just has to not make mistakes, basically. The reason the Patriots have had so much success against the Steelers is because they make Roethlisberger beat them. And he can't. The only thing I hate more than the Big Ben lovefest is the constant Jake Plummer bashing. Plummer isn't particularly great, but he's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be.
  24. Is anyone else watching this Broncos/Giants game? How many times can get Plaxico Burress get away with pass interference?
  25. I'm with you on that one. You're the first person that seems to agree with me. If you throw Roethlisberger into a system where he has to make plays to win football games -- he's a very average QB.
