  1. I'd assume we have a f***ing* censor, now... edit: *guess not
  2. Yeah. He had opportunity after opportunity to make Joey Porter look bad. Porter didn't exactly have his greatest game ever, but atleast he didn't have numerous mistakes that contribute towards his team losing.
  3. Very true. The exact reason why Shaun Alexander shouldn't have been the league's MVP.
  4. Do the All-Stars atleast get some practices before the game?
  5. I don't think they could even compete with the East starters. They've lost games to Utah twice, Washington, and a Cleveland team which is Lebron James without Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade, Shaq and Jermaine O'Neal. There is absolutely no way they can even hang with the East starters. Seriously, if you replace the Cleveland Cavaliers starters with the starters for the East, is there any logic in thinking that they do better than the 13 point loss? Even in the past the Pistons have had to give Ben Wallace help on Shaq, doing that would leave another All-Star open.
  6. Remember what UConn did to the Orange in Syracuse? They won't be so merciful in Storrs*. *or Hartford, if that's where the game is.
  7. Figured I'd bump this up with some big games coming up. UConn destroyed Indiana today -- the score doesn't indicate how much UConn dominated them in my opinion. The closest Indiana could cut the lead was 7 or 8 in the second half, and then it got bumped back up to 15 shortly after. Even when Indiana made a run to get it to 7, never really felt like they'd give UConn a scare. Duke survived against Florida State. Sheldon Williams: King of the late game no-call. FSU should've gone to the line late in OT
  8. Nope, 'Melo missed it. Huge bummer too because the game was in Denver. Oh well, I got to go to the Rookie Challenge, where he was the game's MVP -- that was fun, getting to see LeBron, Melo, and D-Wade on the same team in person.
  9. Take away China's vote. Yao should be kicked out of Houston for that weekend because he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that game.
  10. Same with if 'Melo fails to make the team. He got slighted last year, too.
  11. What a joke. I'm all for giving the fans some say... but when Yao Ming gets the most votes (again), it's god damn ridiculous.
  12. He had my vote when he beat the Steelers in the AFC Championship in a great effort by him while playing with, I believe, the flu. Hearing about how sick he was before the game, and he didn't tell anyone about it as a possible excuse for a bad game, or to get the positive publicity he eventually would for having the great game he would.
  13. Apparently Tom Brady was battling a sports hernia for part of the season, which makes his great season an even greater accomplishment. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2317223
  14. Not so much. Even Duke would gladly trade for UConn's talent. (Before you Duke fans yell at me, understand that I meant that with tongue-in-cheek)
  15. Don't get me started on that. Aside from the vanity points NE scored when the game was in little doubt, they got outscored by Champ Bailey's INT and the TD run that followed it (7-6). And that INT was forced as much as it was a lapse in judgement.
  16. Not Denver, but a little more than an hour away from it. Jake was really good this year, didn't make as many stupid plays. And it's like I've been saying, what's T.O. gonna do? Throw Jake Plummer under the bus? The entire city already did that -- so many people wanted Plummer gone. He doesn't seem to care about how others percieve him, either, he just goes out and plays football. I read an article today that said if they can't get Owens, the Broncos are going to try and acquire Ricky Williams from the 'phins. Can you imagine him running behind that O-Line? Shanahan must have some sort of fetish for troubled players or something.
  17. Oooh, good one! That said, I want my Broncos to sign him!
  18. Not to stray too far off-topic, but can you honestly think of any worse Free Agent signings in the NFL than the Raiders signing Larry Brown? The only one that comes to mind for me is the Lions signing Scott Mitchell, though he did have one good year.
  19. Exactly. Stupid Raiders.
  20. Far be it from me to defend Bill Cowher, but I put that one more on Neil O'Donnell than Cowher. Cowher had his team ready enough to completely outplay the Cowboys. If not for O'Donnell completely missing the mark and finding Larry Brown twice, the Steelers probably win that one.
  21. Well, I consider any playoff game a 'big game' -- and his playoff performances have been forgettable, outside of the NFC Championship game in which the running game was aided a lot by Hasselback's nearly flawless performance. A lot of his yards came after Hasselback had been carving Carolina apart. Even against Washington before he got concussed and left the game, he fumbled on the first possession.
  22. Like I said, I thank god for Porter. He just made an otherwise unintriguing matchup interesting.
  23. Very true, but I'm not convinced that Seattle is all that great still. If the game was being played at Qwest Field, then Seattle would win, no doubt in my mind. But outside of there, like I said, I'm not convinced. Plus, I'd be concerned with Shaun Alexander's big game failures if I was Seattle. I think Cowher's changed this year -- the team's been coming out throwing so far in the playoffs.
  24. Alright people, since it's the biggest game of the year and the action is starting to pick up in Detroit, I figured I'd start this thread a few days in advance so we can get to talking about the Super Bowl. Thank god Jerramy Stevens accidentally got Joey Porter started -- Porter seemed like the only man capable of making this game all that interesting to those outside of the two teams fanbases. I don't know about you guys, but until I got to watch Media Day on NFL Network, I was really having trouble getting into this game. The only interesting story for a while had been Jerome Bettis' homecoming and his first Super Bowl and blah, blah, blah -- but that got played out after like... a day. Anyways, anybody have any predictions on the game? I'm thinking 27-14 Steelers win it.
  25. Yep. UCLA has 11, Kentucky is second with 7, followed by Indiana, UNC, and Duke with 5, 4, and 3 respectively. Most amazing about UCLA's 11 is that they, at one point, won 7 straight.
