  1. I don't know. They came back from 21 down on us in one of our Super Bowl years when they had Kordell Stewart playing QB. And let's face it... is Kordell Stewart really that much better than Big Ben? But in all seriousness, they're just about done for.
  2. Pittsburgh goes for it on 4th and 2, converts (is that technically a conversion, though?), geta big gain, fumble and the Broncos recover. Pittsburgh's a mess.
  3. Best game of the year. Romo looked good. T.O. looks bad. Agreed. If Pittsburgh loses it may be their season. They barely made the wildcard at 11-5 last year. This would be their 6th loss.
  4. 11 minutes left in the first quarter and Denver is beating Pittsburgh 14-0 already. Jake looks good; the offense looks confident.
  5. This whole little 'referees don't take s***' deal is stupid. They've been so inconsistent. 'Melo got ejected for less than the bitching that Cassell was just doing.
  6. Well, I thought the incompetence stopped at Kiki. We still didn't pick up a shooter. We've only need one for, what, 3 years?
  7. 'Melo opens up his season here in just a few minutes. Don't care too much about the rest of the team this year. Though, that'll change I'm sure.
  8. Why is everyone acting like the Big East is getting the last laugh after everyone talked about how bad the conference was last year just because of tonights game? Sure, both teams are 7-0. But so far, Louisville's schedule is highlighted by a win at home against Miami (Not very difficult to do this year, considering Duke was within' 6 yards of beating them) and West Virginia's biggest win was... what, Maryland? It's a huge game tonight. But certainly not because it's between two great teams. These teams would be toast in a Big Ten or SEC schedule or if they actually played anybody worth anything out of conference.
  9. The Broncos really are among the best cornerbacks in the league. There's not a team in the league that's more capable of great coverage from just their secondary. They haven't blitzed much all year. Tom Brady had a ton of time in the pocket against Denver... just nobody ever got open. It was the same case with Steve McNair and pretty much any other quarterback. Look at past examples of how teams have beat the Colts. The Patriots put pressure on Manning. The San Diego Chargers were able to beat the Colts because Shawn Merriman was in Peyton's face all game. Same can be said for Pittsburgh with Joey Porter. If you give Manning all day, he will beat you. Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison will eventually get open if you give them enough time to. I'm not suggesting they didn't beat us because they have a great offense -- I'm saying we never gave our defense a chance, and it showed. I have two problems. - The gameplan goes against all previous examples of how to beat the Colts. In the two times we met them in the playoffs, when we gave up 41 and 49 points, we blitzed the hell out of them and we didn't have the players in the secondary. Now we have the players in the secondary. We have three great corners, when the last few times we were relying on guys named Roc Alexander. Even if what we did seemed like a great idea, don't you, at some point after Peyton is torching us, think about switching. It was obvious to everyone but the people in charge that that gameplan wasn't working. We didn't disguise anything or create any confusion. If we disguised blitz's from Wilson, Gold, and Williams, we'd have had guys at the line of scrimmage to stop Addai. As it was, I've never seen LB's play so far back from the line of scrimmage. The people in charge of the defense, namely Coyer, were scared of the Colts and it showed in the gameplan. - According to Darrent Williams, he was told to give Reggie Wayne a big cushion to not get beat deep. So Reggie tore us apart on short routes. If we blitzed and played physical with Reggie Wayne, Darrent Williams is a lot faster than him and could make up ground so as to not get beat deep. I blamed Darrent, but Darrent never had a chance with how they told him to play. Even then, Domonique Foxworth should've started. He embraces the challenge of facing top tier WR's and is better than Darrent, in my opinion. I remember him practically begging Shanahan to let him cover Randy Moss and he did a great job against Jimmy Smith last year, save for one big play that wasn't even against him. Oh well, Mike Bell was pretty god damn impressive, eh? I can only imagine what Maroney does... We have a cocky defense that holds grudges, though. After giving up a TD on a 18 yard or so drive against the Browns, they proceeded to record more sacks (2) than the Browns did first downs (1) for the last quarter. They'll come out and they'll be pissed off next week.
  10. Colts win. Colts game ball goes to both Darrent Williams for his attempt to cover Reggie Wayne and Larry Coyer for refusing to change his failing gameplan. And Peyton, I guess, for hitting his WR's who didn't have Broncos defenders within 7 yards of them.
  11. Manning has two minutes to work. It was a valiant effort but based on the entire rest of the game... we don't have a prayer. All Peyton has to do is throw to whomever Darrent Williams is covering. Probably Reggie Wayne some more.
  12. Mike Bell is good. He fits the system a lot better than Tatum, actually. I'd like to see them split carries more, personally. Cecil Sapp is destroying the Colts defense on these little fullback runs, too.
  13. This is ridiculous. No matter how many guys we drop back in coverage, Peyton will beat us if we give him time. Can we f***ing blitz Manning? I'm still not big on Larry Coyer, despite the success of this defense so far this year.
  14. Darrent Williams got absolutely worked on that possession. If we're not going to have anyone with 7 yards of their recievers, can we at least blitz and get pressure on Peyton?
  15. What's that? 12* straight completions for Manning? But they're all for short yardage. Bend but don't break, baby. 7-6 Broncos. Edit: * Only 10, I feel a little bit better, I guess.
  16. Touchdown Broncos!! Jake Plummer runs it in. 7-3!! How pathetic is our offense if the announcer says that may be our best drive of the season?
  17. I saw somebody post it on a message board last year, so when you asked, since I didn't know the answer, so I figured I'd try and track down this site. I managed to do so. http://gribblenation.net/nflmaps/ I think it's updated every week so I had little doubt it would be accurate. But considering I'm not near any other teams' markets I've never had to use it myself, really.
  18. The Broncos aren't disguising any of their coverages. Addai shouldn't be carving us apart. Wow... Pass Interference on Reggie Wayne. Good call.
  19. Nope. But I agree completely -- too protective of the quarterback there. Colts better learn to contain or else that play is going to hurt 'em. Jake just got it out inches too far.
  20. Two timeouts in the first three and a half minutes. Perhaps Shanahan, who usually likes to prove his genius, is trying to show that he can beat the Colts without timeouts? Colts just got owned on a naked boot. A ticky tack personal foul on the Colts followed. Can't say I agree with the call.
  21. Is that graphic accurate? Or are you getting the Jets game?
  22. Sorry it's so big... http://www.gribblenation.net/nflmaps/08-CBS-L.gif
  23. Tell me about it. Kinda like years past when we had the offense and we wished the defense would play at the same level. I hope I'm right about Shanahan just being conservative, not wanting to give the Colts too much to work with. Because the offense has been very conservative and there's been very little about what Shanahan has done in his time in Denver that says 'conservative'.
