I think it's more or less that based on my track record in these NFL Picks contests, he knows I won't win anyway.

Since I'm late, I was told it'd be alright to post these still and just not pick the Thursday game so it doesn't count as a win. Date & Time Favorite ................ Spread .................... When I first saw the title, I was wondering why the hell anybody cared. Pretty funny, though.
-
Yeah, I hate coaches like that. But what I'm saying about Miami is that it was the last game under their coach, and for a possible bowl spot. I watched that game and they definitely came to play, in my opinion.
-
I'm not sure you can blame him for any of the losses this year. The Hail Mary was a fluke thing. There's no schemes you can draw up to prevent a hail mary, it all comes down to execution by your players. The Miami game was against a Miami team that certainly came to play that night, in what could've been the last game for their coach and a game that got them bowl eligible. Miami threw in the towel early this season... but they came to play against BC. And I think you're very much underrating Wake Forest.
-
I'm not. That's the NFC for ya, has been for the last few years.
-
It's bad enough that they play that song every god damn commercial break...
-
MLB: Red Sox NHL: Avalanche (But I couldn't honestly tell you how they're doing because I really don't care) NFL: Broncos and 49ers NBA: Nuggets NCAAB: UConn NCAAF: Notre Dame

I don't know how the Patriots can't figure the Broncos out, to be honest. The Broncos make no attempt to disguise or change what they do on offense. Really, the only question going into the games are what RB is going to get the majority of the carries. And I can't even think of one occasion in which the defensive gameplan has even changed slightly all year. The reason the defense struggles in the second half is because the opponents adjust and Coyer does not. Coyer's a great teacher, but he needs to be demoted. He's a horrible D-Coordinator.
-
Yeah, that was an incredible play by Marshall. I'm sick of watching the Broncos play in primetime. I hate the blue pants they wear when they do. Cutler finished 10/21 for 143 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. And he looked absolutely terrible. Half of his yardage came on the great play by Marshall. His first touchdown pass was a ball thrown high to a wide open TE. Whatever, I never wanted him to start to begin with. He had the terrible decision to throw the ball rather than eat it and take the sack on his first pick. When I heard that Jay Cutler would be starting, I was worried that we'd be one and done in the playoffs. I guess I don't have to worry about that anymore. :dunno:
-
So glad we benched Plummer for Cutler... So far, he's just a poor man's Jake Plummer. I understand he'll get better, obviously, but he's not the man to be leading a playoff contender at this point in his career.
-
He's just a freak in general. He's going to be the dominant NBA big man over the next ten years. Almost scary to imagine him getting better, which will certainly happen.
-
He should've thought about that before he neglected to get a shooter. Allen Houston was saying 'Melo is the best offensive player in the game. I can't really bring myself to agree with that but he's certainly up there -- too big for quick guys to defend him, too quick for big guys to defend him, and he's got a nice shooting touch and gets to the line. George Karl said that if 'Melo got it in his head that he wants to be a great rebounder, he'd be the best on the Nuggets, which says a lot with Camby on the team. But he's been fantastic this year and he's becoming one of the elite. I rented NBA 2k7 for 360 today. Lebron is a 98. D-Wade is a 98. Carmelo is an 87. What's up with that?
-
Of all of the WR groups in the league, his would not rank in the top 30. Michael Vick is a great player. The problem has been Jim Mora Jr. trying to fit him into a system he's not built to play in and not getting him the talent to help him adjust.
-
Let's all talk about how great 'Melo is and how he should be an MVP candidate!

I really have no idea, to be honest. I haven't seen anything to officially suggest that Jake won't be starter, but the same could be said about him starting -- the Broncos have been pretty quiet on the issue, as far as I know. Everyone -- literally, everyone -- is calling for Jake's head. The already small group of Jake's supporters, which I'm a proud member of, is dwindling. I love Jake. I think he's far from being the only problem on this team. The defensive coordinator, Larry Coyer, is a joke. He knows how to make one adjustment, and that's pulling up and using his counter productive method for protecting the score midway through the third quarter. The offensive line is banged up, leading to some inconsistencies in the running game. Rod Smith has lost about two steps and is only capable of getting open against the zone and his hands are missing in action. We don't have the pass catching Tight Ends that Shanahan's system relies on. We need a stud RB. I'd love Kenny Irons or Marshawn Lynch. A guy who can pound you all game... no RB by committee. As for Cutler, there's two ways to go about it... the Eli Manning way, or the Phillip Rivers way. The guy has the potential to be great, but I'd hate to damage him by introducing him before he's ready. He looked great against second string defenses playing basic man and zone defenses in preseason, but that's it. So in short, in regards to the Cutler/Plummer situation, you know about as much as I do. But I expect that, barring injury, Jake Plummer has made his last start for the Denver Broncos. I love Jake, but part of me wants to see what Cutler's made of.
-
He said that he must have a little black in him. Who among us has thought similar things? I really don't think it's an issue in the slightest bit. Nor should it be.
-
I always forget about it. I entered last year because it was always on this page and I checked this forum a lot. I never think to look at the prizes and contests one and I never remember it off the top of my head. I'll try and remember to get in on it from here on out. As for Plummer, he gets a lot of blame he doesn't deserve. This team, especially Rod Smith, the Tight Ends, and the RB's, drop a lot of catchable footballs. There is absolutely no threat of a consistent running game. 3rd and four and 3rd and three are obvious passing downs for us, it seems. Jake really only has one good option -- Javon Walker. It's painfully obvious that Rod Smith has lost a step. Unless the defense is in a zone, Smith can't get open for his life. The team looks lifeless, as well. Midway through the third quarter against San Diego we put the brakes on on defense and starting playing to protect the lead. That's the only adjustment Coyer knows how to make. He should be demoted. He's a great teacher but his player calling is lacking, to say the least.
-
Looks like Jay Cutler is going to be starting for the Broncos against Seattle... This season had so much hope, too. Larry Coyer's inability or unwillingness to change the defensive gameplan when it's apparent that offenses have figured out how to move the ball against it really did us in. Jake's been bad, but this team should've won last week.
