He probably has 10,000 "other" ABs and comes with a tremendous scouting report. My point isn't that he has had a great ML career, my point is that those who have watched him throughout his career (Sox offensive player of the year, NCAA All-American, etc.,) certainly didn't expect him to come up and suck.
EDIT: Just out of curiosity (because I was guessing out of my ass how many ABs do you think the average ML rookie has had before he makes the bigs? 4,000 maybe?)
