  1. Chad Spann, are you watching?
  2. Holy s***, 3 errors for Lowell tonight?
  3. Pinerio reminds me of Delcarmen a bit with his stuff. Hopefully he'll be better, with his experience.
  4. Very nice play Tek. Another serious breaking ball from Peniero.
  5. There are a lot of guys that take that long. You've been pretty fair about Pedroia a700. It is easy to be skeptical of giving an unaccomplished 2B the starting job on one of the highest payroll teams in baseball. I completely understand that.
  6. For what its worth, that was a NASTY pitch for the K there.
  7. He probably has 10,000 "other" ABs and comes with a tremendous scouting report. My point isn't that he has had a great ML career, my point is that those who have watched him throughout his career (Sox offensive player of the year, NCAA All-American, etc.,) certainly didn't expect him to come up and suck. EDIT: Just out of curiosity (because I was guessing out of my ass how many ABs do you think the average ML rookie has had before he makes the bigs? 4,000 maybe?)
  8. Maybe that's putting too much weight on the stats and not enough on the track record. He hit a lot of outs hard last year, and he doesn't strike out. He draws walks and plays a confident second base. The point is that a few weeks ago he was criticized for swinging hard and hitting the ball AT people instead of getting hits. Isn't he 24?
  9. Nice Inning Romero. Let's just end this game and go into tomorrow's game 1-1.
  10. I think two weeks ago that was called swinging from his heels.... wasn't it? Has Pedroia ever NOT hit with confidence?
  11. Riverside, I know you have always been behind this kid--as have I. He hasn't proven himself fully yet, but he looks pretty damn comfortable up there.
  12. That boy can hit the ball hard!!! Atta boy dusty!
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2826280 Totally wrong place for it (there is a separate thread) but some may not have left the game thread for awhile.
  14. I don't know if anyone noticed, but ESPN just announced that MLB and cable have reached a 7 year agreement for EI. f*** YEAH!!
  15. No, it's not on here. I believe you that its on where you live, just not here. That's okay, I bet it will all be on tomorrow, and I'm already watching on the computer. The fact that you're watching is all the reassurance I need that life will be good this spring and summer. Enjoy it my man, I'll start tomorrow! yeahyeahyeahyeahyeahyeah!!! I'm pumped.
  16. I am a Coco supporter, for sure. But he seems incapable of both trying to tell if a pitch is a close ball or strike and hitting a pitch hard. He seems to do best when he just lets it rip. I think the Sox may have taken a bit of that away in an effort to get him on base. Don't get me wrong, what I'm writing about is a VERY VERY hard thing to do. I'm always amazed that anyone can do it, and there is probably only about 5% of MAJOR LEAGUERS who can do it (let alone the 99.999% of the world's general population).
  17. It's not on here yet.
  18. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! I saw this post at the EXACT moment that Youkilis hit his bomb! Thank God. Thank you lord.
  19. Oh yeah, you need Beckett to go as deep as possible if he's comfortable with it. Nice aggressive pitch in that last at-bat. Beckett has done a very nice job of keeping the ball down. EDIT: you wrote it first TheKilo.
  20. He's falling behind quite a bit, but he's not leaving many hittable pitches over the plate either.
  21. I think the odds would say that Francona isn't going to send many guys in that situation, but why not put some pressure on the Royals D? Beckett is pitching okay, given that he's in the "passive Josh" mode, where he lacks the fire that he has in his truly outstanding outings. Of course, he's also keepin ghis head about him pretty well. Reyes and Beltran with bombs in the 7th. The Mets look pretty good. Sweeping the Cards...
  22. Damnit! 3-1, why not send the runner? If that's Jeter I imagine Torre is sending him.
  23. YOu can see the effect Lugo has on a pitcher's concentration.
  24. I miss Ambiroux Burgous.
  25. Nevermind, forgot Perez is a lefty.
