  1. It's interesting to hear them talking about how Tom Brady is depressed and "down" during practice. It will be interesting to see how he deals with loosing like this. I know after his first Super Bowl they had an not so good season, but Tom is generally used to winning since he started for this team. If he's "down" their done!
  2. Isn't it! This Wednesday night we are having our first full fledge DDR Tournament Night. Hopefully we get a good turn out (keeping more teens off the streets).
  3. Another friggin INT.... GOD DAM it! I would like to say that I believe we can win, but it looks like our 2 game winning streak is going to be snapped. Things are going to have to turn around quickly. We need someone like Evans or another guy to step UP!
  4. http://www.fanhut.com/Images/NFL-Replica/PatriotsM.gif @ http://www.fanhut.com/Images/NFL-Replica/KansasM.gif The injury report does the Pats no justice because so many season begining starters are now OUT for the season. Matt Light is doubtful, but thats nothing new. The Chiefs have a couple of guys OUT FB Ronnie Cruz (Knee), OLB Kris Griffin (Hamstring), and FS Jerome Woods (Hamstring). The Patriots are looking like a team that is struggling to do just about anything. We have a lot of young players filling in which turns our normally solid smart team into a young dumb one. There are a couple of pleasant surprises this season that will help us in years to come. Cobbs has come up big in a couple of games, Colivin is showing he is back from his injuries, Patrick Pass has shown us what he can do, and a couple of other guys are still showing that guys want to come here and play hard for Coach Belicheck. The only problem is that none of those guys are game changing players. Brady is doing all he can do to make it work, but he hasn't been given a lot of time to do much from his O-Line and our lack of a running game. Teams can just guess pass most of the time and feel OK with that. When it comes to play-off talk a lot of people are saying we will make the play-offs yada yada. Well they better show us something more than what their showing us because in the play-offs all teams get better. We currently are showing no signs of getting better. If your on today and see this thread lets get a good game thread going. Every week I sit here with my kids (that could care less about sports at this point) and wish I had some other peeps to talk to about the game.
  5. Thanks SFOC! Actually I sent out the package, I had one of the members take the picture (Dan B. he is part of a group called IMAGE MAKERS a Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Program, it's basiclly a photo club), the thank you card was signed by members of the Teen Center, and tax ID letter was typed by Tammi (she's the Unit Director and my boss). The letter kind of had a basic thank that talked about the importance of your donation yada yada, I would like to say that it all might sound like a cliche, but it's not. Every bit helps and we really need it. Currently our budget is struggling. We will be $150,000 in the red for our budget at the end of the fiscal calendar/year. Your donation won't solve that problem, but like I said every dollar counts! We'll be OK we always find a way to make things work out. On behalf of the staff and membership thank you for your donation!
  6. Just wanted to publicly thank Sox Fan on Cape for the $200 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowet. The money has gone toward a video game system called DDR or Dance Dance Revolution. If you have never seen the game here is a picture of it here. http://www.healthycommunitymhc.org/HCI/content/images/DSC03029.JPG although this is not a picture of how our system is set-up it's a similar example (our set-up is much nicer)! The best part of the game is that there have been many reports of teens losing weight and getting fit playing the game. Trust me it’s a WORK-OUT! We are starting a DDR Fitness Tournament night. On the work-out setting it will tell you how many calories you burn playing the game (estimated from your weight ect). At the end of the night whom ever burns the most calories wins! What the win has not yet been figured out yet. We are trying to figure out something “healthy” to award the winner each tournament night. Again THANK YOU SFOC you rock! In a couple of days you should receive a picture of the members using the game system, a thank you card, and a tax receipt for the donation with our tax ID# so you can claim the donation on your taxes. If it was not for people like you the programs that the Boys & Girls Clubs run would not be possible and many children would be without the club’s services. Over 50% of club alumni nation wide said in a recent survey that the club “saved their lives”. So you can feel as you “saved a life (or 2)”. ~Brent DeBraga Teen Center Director Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowest 169 Pleasant St. Marlborough, MA 01752
  7. So Sox Fan On Cape, What would you like?
  8. http://www.fanhut.com/Images/NFL-Replica/PatriotsM.gif @ http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/80/94/18/26/0080941826034_215X215.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I thought about taking a break on the Pats Game threads, but after this week I thought we could talk about this past game and the season's upcoming games. This game was scarey because we allowed 365 passing yards from a well below avg. QB. This tells me something. What ever teams want to do to us they'll do on the offensive side of the ball. If they want to run they'll run, if they want to pass they'll pass. There was some light at the end of the tunnel for the defense, but it was dim at best. Bruschi has brought back a jump in their step, but they'll need more than that to get it done. Rankings aside we are basiclly the worst defense in the league. Our offense looked good dispite a ton of injuries. Ben Watson finally got some real playing time and caught 2 TD's. I still believe Ben can be a big weapon for us if used correctly... Screen passes that he catches behind the line of scrimmage then running for 15 yards after smashing over 3 would be tacklers. Our running back crew is sorry. Corey Dillon is out of shape and it's showing. Heath Evans had a gutsy effort, but I can't amagine he'll be that effective next week. Teams got a look at him and they won't allow what the Dolphins allowed. Our play calling sucks. We need to open up the field more. If we are having trouble with our running game we need to set-up the running game with some long passes. Plus we've had good luck with the long passing game. The GOOD part out of all of this is that the regular season is going to be much like a pre-season effort for us. We will make the play-offs and hopefully by then we'll have everything put together ready for another Super Bowl run.
  9. ya sure all black people look the same........ JK come on man the only thing I can see is that they are both black and have some what unique hair features that are similar. Other than that their faces are not alike.
  10. The gift I would like is for someone to make a donation to their local Boys & Girls Club in their own name, but commenting me (Brent DeBraga - Teen Center Director - Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowest/Pleasant St. Clubhouse) as the reason why you gave the donation. If you don't have a local club please donate toward my club. Send donations to... Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowest Pleasant St. Clubhouse 169 Pleasant St. Marlborough, MA 01752 If you have a specific reason or program you wish the money to go toward be sure to make note of that. For instance I run the Teen Center (hint).
  11. WOW 3.5 million to walk away! If my job came to me and said OK over the next 10 years you will make approx. $400,000 we will give you half of that right now, but you can't work here anymore I would have to say OK let's see please cut a check NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  12. OK what's going on here? When Ben is thrown the ball and he catches it he goes for 10 yards with 7 of those yards after the catch and after 3 broken tackles. Why isn't he a bigger part of our offense? The only thing I can think of is his pass catching abbilities are somewhat below avg. It's not his blocking because for a young guy he does a good job of that, so what is it?
  13. Ugly game, good win, Brushchi plays football, ect. Can Coach Belicheck show any kind of emotion? I mean get mad man the game was ugly, we won, but it was ugly. Get excited about Bruschi coming back. Players use what ever they can to get up for the game. I'm a big believer of emotion having a big part in sports. Corey looked good in the 2nd half. Brady had an OK 2nd half. Our defense looked more confident (maybe because of Bruschi) Branch is a pro bowl WR! What happened to D. Graham, B. Watson, Givens, ect. They speak of all the injuries, but it seems as if a lot of guys that are healthy are not steppin' up! Hopefully next week can be one of those jumping boards, a big emotional rival game, a team that is way better than us, can we beat them? Sure! Should we no. Will we, I don't know. I call next week a shoot out 41-39 - who wins I don't know hopefully with the history against this team us, but this year is a different story! They are not the same team and obvisouly we aren't either.
  14. God damb we are cursed. I guess Babe said oh really the sox don't need me then I'll just go curse the Pats. (I really don't think this) Even with all the injuries we have the emotional advantage with Bruschi coming back, but I really am starting to think we are in trouble. We just lost too much from last year.
  15. rudy, Rudy, RUdy, RUDy, RUDY.... bruschi, Bruschi, BRuschi, BRUSCHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. http://www.dylanscards.com/_Images/Football%20Helmets/Patriots.gif @ http://www.fanhut.com/Images/NFL-Replica/BillM.gif Sunday October 30th 8:30 prime time Game Notes The Patriots will return to action following the bye week by opening their AFC East division schedule against the Buffalo Bills with a Sunday night prime time game in Foxborough. New England is playing its first divisional game of the season in Week Eight, marking the latest division-opener in franchise history. Before this season, the latest the Patriots had played their first divisional game was in 1980, when they began AFC East play against the New York Jets in Week Five. This week’s game begins a 10-week stretch in which six games will fall against divisional opponents. The Patriots also enter a portion of their schedule that will see them play three home games in the four-week span between now and Thanksgiving. LOCAL BROADCAST TELEVISION: This week’s game will be televised to a national cable audience by ESPN and can also be seen over the airwaves in Boston on WCVB Channel 5. Mike Patrick will handle play-by-play duties and will be joined by analysts Joe Theismann and Paul Maguire. Suzy Kolber will provide sideline reports throughout the game. RADIO: WBCN 104.1 FM is the flagship station for the Patriots Rock Radio Network. A complete listing of the network’s 36 stations can be found in this press release. Play-by-play broadcaster Gil Santos is in his 29th season as the voice of the Patriots and will call the action along with Patriots Hall of Famer Gino Cappelletti. Santos and Cappelletti are celebrating their 22nd season as a broadcast tandem. HOME SWEET HOME Since Gillette Stadium opened in 2002, the Patriots have compiled a 25-4 record. New England’s .862 home winning percentage is the highest of any NFL team over that span. The Patriots achieved perfect 8-0 regular season home records in 2003 and 2004 and have also notched a 3-0 home playoff record at Gillette Stadium. New England won a franchise-record 21 consecutive home games between 2002 and 2005. Below is a list of the NFL’s top home records (including regular-season and playoff games) since the Patriots moved into Gillette Stadium in time for the 2002 season. 17. I once played soccer (to get in shape) before basketball season. We where sent to the school's kitchen to fill up the water jugs. When we got there the lunk ladies asked us for some help getting the freezers open. So we helped. Once we got them open we walked in too look around. Most of the boxes said "GRADE F, BUT CONSUMABLE". This was my freshman year so after that I refused to eat school lunch ever again. It's funny I'm 27 and the things I remember about high school is s*** like that, not what the teachers taught me.
  18. Well this game hurt. I think Bill made the correct decision to rest Dillon and some of the other guys. With the bye next we should come back the week after stronger than we are now. The question is how strong?
  19. I saw his interview on 20/20. What a little bitch. He obviously is in a deep depression since he's been off the juice. He cried over every little question. I have to ask this question to you all. Who here really thinks steriods was really all that bad for those guys (pro-atheletes that took them)? They made millions of dollars from the advantages the drug gave them. Yes the suffer the side affects of their use, but lots of people do drugs just for fun, at least these guys did them for a real reason. I do still believe they are cheaters, but in pro-sports cheating is encouraged. If you don't get caught that is....
  20. Corey Dillon is in pads although he has not got into the game yet. They said "coaches decision".
  21. WOW you guys really think we can stop the run? I don't know. We have problems with this all season and now we have even more guys down with injury. I think our defense is going to have their hands full today and if we are to get a win our offense will have to come up big again this week. Brady has the tools, the confidence, and the skill if anyone can do it he can.
  22. The game was won on the 4th & 9 pass play down field. I can't figure out how any DB could allow a WR to past him on a play like that. On a 4th & 9 play your taught to keep the player in front of you. Even if the DB allowed the WR to catch the ball in front of him he would have been able to make the tackle. Maybe USC would have still got a 1st down, but that long pass play set up what happened at the end of the game. As far as the fumble play it was sad because ND played well all day and a mistake by a DB and a lucky call/spot by the ref won the game for USC. I think they need to review this rule. In that situation the only possible thing that could have saved USC's ass when he couldn't get in to the zone was a fumble out of bounds. I'm not saying he did it on purpose, but it sucks when something that is usually bad for your team to do becomes a free time out for your team allowing them a second chance to win the game. Give a team like USC that much and they'll get into the zone.
  23. I hate to say it, but I always thought Grady was a very good mananger and game stragedy guy. Yes he made some giant blunders that I can never forgive him for, but he was a much better mananger than our Tito. If Pedro struck out everyone the rest of that game Grady little would one of our favorite people. It's just sad he coudn't take his head out of his ass long enough to figure out what everyone else from home was yelling at the TV about (take him out!... why is he still in the game Jeff, why?... who has the number to the dug out?...). Thats what it's all about though. Your only as good as your last ____________.
  24. Alright to discuss the game. Big game (like all games). This one however is a very important game for the rest of the season. The Pats must make a chose to play some players this week that may be 80% or sit them knowing they'll have 2 weeks with the bye week coming up to rest them. Now doing that may cost them the game, then again maybe not. It's a tuff call. I believe if we can manage to sit these guys and still win it will carry us through the seaosn on a big streak! We'll be back to our old form as the leagues dominant team. Now just the opposit can happen. If the Pats decide to play these guys, they suffer further injuries, then the possibilty of loosing the game and we could find ourselves in a mini hole that won't be too deep, but it's a lot different than the other way this game could go.
  25. From what I've researched the NFL requires teams to fully disclose the status of all players leading up until a game. There is some gray area here. The injury report is from Wednesday - Friday. If an injury accures on Saturday the team is to call the league about it, but it might not be added to the offical report (although both teams will/should know). Other than fines there really is no real punishment for not fully disclosing this info. I know most people think "of it's because of gambling...". I don't see it that way. I see it as the league agreeing to all follow the same rules. If one team says well all teams must follow this rule, but we refuse. There should be a real penalty of some sort. Weather they suspend players, coaching staff, or something more substantial than fines is needed. The league should assign 32 league officals that have free rainge to sit in on team meetings, discuss injuries, contract deals with players, ect to insure that behind closed doors teams are following the rules. If they do anything less than that the league will start to loose credibility. After baseball and steriods I think a lot of people just assume that cheating including steriod use if rampat amoungst all pro-leagues/teams.
