    Title changed to retain the civility of the GBT Board. I think that maybe, just maybe 1 year, 15 million isnt a good idea...but then you have to consider the state of the Yankees starting rotation. Wang and Mussina are the only two solid performers right now. Johnson and Pavano are iffy at best and Karstens may or may not be ready. 1 year and 15 million for an established LHP is better than trying to turn Scott Proctor into a starter.

    Because he wants to be traded and no matter how good a guy is, if he doesnt want to be on the team and quits on them halfway through the season, hes not worth it anymore. Manny gave us some great years, now its time for him to go.

    The article talks about how he was a standout guy, always team oriented, never a prima donna, et cetera. Doesnt this strike anyone else as generic? That the selfless and nearly perfect sports stars are the only ones that apparently die? Just once I want a pro athelete to die and his teammates and coaches to give statements saying... "Well, he was a real jerk..." Its like when serial killers neighbors say "He was such a nice boy". What, you never noticed he was creepy and solitary? Just say it! "Honestly, no one is really surprised. He used to set our cats on fire".
