  1. Thanks for letting me know. It's tough for me to keep up with things, living as I do in this cave on top of a mountain on another planet.
  2. I would not be too surprised if Game 1 was the only game the Guardians win this series. Regardless, I think the Cubs win. All they really needed was a split in Cleveland for the first two to be in really good shape, and they got that. I think there's a better than 50% chance that they never make it back to Cleveland.
  3. Sorry about that DearLife troll, guys. I was at work all day.
  4. I wouldn't count the Jays out for tomorrow. I doubt the Guardians will. If there is any active manager in baseball who won't take a 3-0 series lead for granted, it's Terry Francona.
  5. Oh, and I just checked the score from the ALCS earlier. I would not have guessed that an Guardians/Jays series would start off so low-scoring. So far, it's Toronto 0, Cleveland 0, Francisco Lindor 2.
  6. The ESPN radio guys called that "a roll of the dice". "If it works, it's brilliant." ...it didn't work.
  7. Your team's entire hope for the season comes down to Wilmer Difo, a name that sounds more like someone who just had their wisdom teeth removed was trying to say Willem Dafoe. You guys are f***ed. Seriously, the Dodgers just brought out Clayton f***ing Kershaw, a guy so nasty he could literally change his middle name to "f***ing" without anyone questioning the decision, and you counter with a guy who made the Major Leagues because "why not"? Was this a Make-a-Wish thing? Did some kid in DC with an inoperable brain tumor ask for one last chance to see the Nationals piss away a chance at moving past the first round of the postseason?
  8. I'm rooting for the Nationals because their fans are much better. Unbelievably, they actually show up to the game in the FIRST inning and leave when the game is over! Can you imagine that? Dodgers fans certainly can't.
  9. I'm really loving the lack of recent success among the teams left in the postseason. If the Dodgers win the final DS, the four LCS teams will have a combined 227 years without a World Series win. If the Nationals win, it's 246 years. No matter what happens now, we'll get to see a team that hasn't won since at least when I was a kindergarten student celebrate a World Series championship. That's pretty cool. And that's only the Jays. The Dodgers haven't won since I was 1, there are only a handful of people left in the world who were alive when the Cubs last won, the Guardians haven't won since the Truman administration, and the Nationals have never won, including a bunch of uninspiring years as the Expos. Even after the crushing disappointment of a Sox loss, I can't wait to see who goes all the way this year.
  10. I would much rather it be Encarnacion. Beltran is about 100 years old, he can't possibly have as much good baseball left in him as EE.
  11. I guess he's this year's Daniel Murphy or David Freese or whatever. He'll fade into obscurity soon enough after this postseason is over. The Cubs will win this DS anyways.
  12. That picture shows up perfectly fine in every post you deleted.
  13. Yeah, I have far less of an issue with this series loss than some others I might have. They didn't get swept by a made-it-by-inches-83-and-79 WC team or lose 10 games in a row during the regular season to bottom-feeders like Atlanta or the Phillies. They got swept by one of the best teams in baseball, and after the first game and the first half of the second, I already saw it coming. It sucks, but it's not the end of the world. This hurts a lot less than the 2005 ALDS, being swept after coming off the high of being the defending WS champs all year, and it hurts a hell of a lot less than sucking for two straight years.
  14. Fire everyone, trade everyone. Burn it down and start over. Seriously though, that sucked, but the fact is the Sox lost to a very good team. I'm obviously disappointed that they seemed to hit a rough stretch offensively at just the wrong time. It happens sometimes over the course of a season, but this was just a really bad time for it. Oh well. Time to sit back and root for the Cubs.
  15. Your way of looking on the bright side for us never fails to make me like you. Wait...no, my mistake. What I meant to say was, it never fails to make me hate you with a passion that burns brighter and hotter than the combined cores of a trillion suns.
  16. There was a thread entirely about John Farrell and our various opinions of him at the TOP of the page when you started yours. You did not start a baseball thread meant to spark impassioned discussion about an interesting topic. You started a new thread to bash John Farrell. If you wanted to do that, you could have done it in the John Farrell thread. If we had a new thread each time someone wanted to complain about whatever the manager of the Sox at the time does or says, we'd need an entirely separate site to hold all of the data.
  17. I have to go to work for 6, and the goddamn owner of the restaurant I work in refuses to put any sports on the TVs in the dining room. The only way I can get score updates is from my customers who are following the game on their phones.
  18. Hooray! You didn't have to change it just for me, though I'm happy you did. I really didn't like the other one. I tried watching that Trailer Park show. About fifteen minutes into it I had to give up.
  19. Some avatars should never change. I remember how sad I was when Spud got rid of Roger Moore from "The Saint".
  20. But it's been Q for so long now!
  21. Exactly. It's pretty obvious that he will never pitch well again, and as we all know, once a guy does poorly in one postseason game, you never, ever let him play in another one again.
  22. Of course it will. The Cy Young should never go to someone who pitched one or two bad games. That's why all of the previous Cy Young awards have only been given to guys with 0.00 ERAs and no losses.
