  1. I was kidding. I picked those two teams because they have little money compared to others and a very thin history of signing expensive, flashy free agents. Obviously it will be the Sox, Yanks, Dodgers, or someone along those lines. The Marlins or the A's or the Rays probably aren't getting in on this kind of thing. I'm pretty sure the Twins park only stays open because they're using solar panels to sell electricity back to the power company and the Padres are paying Wil Myers by returning all of the beer cans left on the ground to the grocery store after each game.
  2. Hidden ball trick pulled on the Yankees. Kudos, Ryan Goins.
  3. My heart wants to say the Sox win the World Series, but my brain says they lose the ALCS to either Houston or Cleveland.
  4. This guy knows what he's talking about. Seriously though, if anyone thinks that resting Sale would hurt the chances of the Sox winning the division, just remember that Sale has 17 wins, which means the Sox have won 72 games while Chris Sale was sitting on the bench picking his nose or whatever pitchers do when they aren't pitching. Playing Candy Crush?
  5. Toronto and the Rays always play us and the Yankees tough. I'm not saying the Yankees schedule is not easier than ours for the rest of the month, but I doubt they win out.
  6. This team? They scored 10 runs the day before yesterday, and the pitching gave up 0 runs in 11 innings yesterday. It's also only the second inning. Maybe we should give this game a little more time.
  7. Just watched the recap when I got home from work a few minutes ago. Excellent. Could have asked for better pitching in the beginning, but a win is a win, and the defensive highlights made this a great one. Two guys cut down at second in a tie game, by Bradley (of course) and Leon (!?). Betts certainly didn't look like his injury was bothering him, and holy s*** does he like hitting at Camden Yards.
  8. Actually it was 12-0, which makes it an even dumber decision.
  9. The Sox never make anything easy. That's part of being a fan!
  10. It's not often I say this, but I really empathize with the Rays over that call. I mean, that was pretty bad even by modern umpire standards. If I were the Rays fan, I would be pretty upset.
  11. Probably a guy getting a handy in the cheap seats.
  12. Pedroia just tossed a ball into the stands and I watched some 16-year old (or so) kid snatch it out of the air by shoving his arm in front of a bunch of little kids. Teenagers are the worst.
  13. StubHub. I should be more clear. I am not a spontaneous person. For me, "spur of the moment" means I decided last night to go today and bought the ticket this morning when I got out of work. There were still a great deal of tickets left at 7AM.
  14. YOTN at the game mojo. Made a spur of the moment decision to head up to Boston. Four rows back from the field, just beyond first base. They have TVs set into the wall in front of the very first row of seats. Why the f***!? Does someone with seats that good need the TV? They need more of them in the areas where you can barely see what's going on on the field.
  15. I bet the Padres or the Twins swoop in and get him at the last moment, just to really throw everyone for a loop.
  16. In order to be welcoming and polite, I will refrain from saying all of the things about Bridgeport that I would normally want to say as a resident of literally any other town in Connecticut. You know what I mean! Seriously though, welcome!
  17. Dodgers losing again, 4-3 in the fourth. They've lost 8 in a row and 9 of 10 and they're still 10 games up in the division and 42 games over .500. Insane.
  18. Aww, Andriese is leaving. I really liked him. Maybe they can bring Archer in.
  19. Much like the fetish community, we would be lost without Fister.
  20. Freebie runner? No way, that's little league ********. That's as bad as instituting a mercy rule.
  21. That, and maybe a little bit of "oh, f*** this s*** already" on the part of the Jays center fielder. He didn't exactly go all out diving to make a play on that.
