  1. It's just gross that Bartolo Colon is still pitching.
  2. Alright Mookie! Loving this.
  3. We're already 2.4691358024691357 percent into the season, there's no time to dawdle, man!
  4. So did I when I joined TalkSox. It goes fast.
  5. I will forever treasure Robertson's reaction about 0.5 seconds after Smoak made contact.
  6. That's pretty bad even by MLB manager standards.
  7. "A few years ago" means something different with each year you age. The year you began elementary school was "a few years ago" for me. The year you were born was "just recently" for someone in their 70s or 80s. For you, "a few years ago" was the Red Sox's last World Series win. For me, the 2004 one was. For someone older than me, the ball going through Buckner's legs was "a few years ago". Please don't make fun of us old guys. It hurts.
  8. See this is why you guys should do what I do, and not give a crap about the NBA or college sports. That way you can watch your Red Sox without worrying about what else is going on in the world!
  9. One of the angles I saw seemed to show that he got the tag on the sleeve/elbow area before the runner touched the plate. He might have beat the tag if his legs were extended, but they were bent inward and he slid over the plate shins-first. I think they got him.
  10. Um, they're playing in Tampa Bay.
  11. I honestly had no idea Gardenhire was managing the Tigers this year. What part of his managing career with the Twins made the Tigers' ownership say "Yeah, that's the guy we want!"? The multiple last-place finishes? Repeatedly getting swept out of the first round of the postseason?
  12. Hell, I felt old when Dave Roberts and Craig Counsell got managing jobs. I can't even imagine how some of the other guys on this site feel. The guys we grew up watching are managing. Some of the guys they grew up watching are pushing daisies. If 30 feels this old, I'm not sure I wanna know how old 60 feels.
  13. Randal Grichuk wins the coveted "MLB Player With the Most NHL Player Name" award for the fourth or fifth season in a row.
  14. Stanton has one because he got hit in the face. If I recall correctly, it was pretty bad. I would guess most of the guys wearing those are probably guys who have been hit in the jaw or mouth with pitches. I could be wrong, but then again we all know how rare that is.
  15. Today was the most poorly managed game of the season by Alex Cora.
  16. I was just wondering about that when they scored, it seemed like a long time last year.
  17. I heard on the radio earlier that there was a grease fire in Tropicana before the game, but they cleared it up in time to start. Too bad they didn't clean up the dumpster fire.
  18. Wow, inside the park. Didn't see that coming.
  19. First pitch of the season is a HR, love it!
  20. Every day MLB.com has one game free to watch. Opening Day, the first Opening Day in decades where every team is playing, everyone has been waiting on the edge of their seats after an offseason full of big moves, and what do they choose as the free game of the day for Opening Day? San Diego and Milwaukee. That'll certainly be the one to entice people into buying MLB TV
  21. I really think 2018 Aaron Boone has a lot of potential to be to the Yankees what 2012 Bobby Valentine was to the Red Sox. And I can't wait to see if I'm correct. (I mean, I probably am, I almost always am).
  22. I was just curious if anyone would pick more than 110 or less than 50 wins. Public voting, so we'll all know who you are!
  23. Only one more week until baseball, I'm so excited! This offseason has just dragged ooooon and oooon. I've already taken next Thursday off from work. I'm working a double shift for someone else in exchange for their covering the 29th, all so I can follow all 15 games played that day.
  24. There you go.
  25. 94-68, Yankees go 93-69, division is decided on the last day of the season.
