Yeah, it's a good bet in real life too. My co-workers know that if they talk about music or cars or whatever else, I tune out. The only discussions I will jump into are baseball and Star Trek, and only one of those actually occurs.
To be fair, I am impressed he knew what Andorra was. I can't expect everyone to have an encyclopedic memory for Star Trek's races. It would certainly be nice to be able to converse about it outside of the Trek boards, but I don't expect it.
