  1. Thanks for Stickying it stocker.
  2. Definately. No surprise here.
  3. Thank you very much, not I can change his status from pending to official.
  4. yea thanks anyway. Only reason being that I dont want there to be something added on here that I missed that isnt on my master list. I appreciate the offer though. If you want to help, maybe you could consider stickying this so that I dont have to go looking through the general baseball forum when I need to update and so that other readers know exactly where to look to see what moves have been made so far. Just a suggestion.
  5. I have a feeling Gordon stays here or goes to you guys. Just a feeling. But Philly is definately a possibility.
  6. Always that possibility. They could either flop or the Braves can pull another one out. Either way, it's nice to see that since Omar came here, he has been very serious on making this a great team again.
  7. Thats what I thought too about Theo. Rent the movie though and you will see. http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=70018477&trkid=189530
  8. OK, I got word that the Loaiza thing is legit. Thanks.
  9. I heard about the Redman trade, I will wait until I hear more about the Loaiza and Mabry signings. MLBTradeRumors.com isnt always right on. Thanks for the heads up though.
  10. Nah, against the Yankees. I was at Tino Martinez's first game back at Yankee Stadium when he was with the Cardinals (also happen to be Clemens' 300th win, how lucky was I? I bought those tix in January to see Tino) and was rooting for him to homer off Clemens that night (but I wanted it to be the only STL run, so that Clemens could get the win). Of coarse he got his homer the next day. Next year, when Bernie comes back, i'll be pulling for him too to hit a homer. One homer isnt going to kill us.
  11. Is he, I thought he was a Free Agent next year. My mistake. And if you have ever read my posts here, im not usually like that. Personally I wouldnt want Andrew Jones, I would prefer Melky. I was using him as an example of us going out to get a CFer because I didnt know who else was on the market next year. How about you guys? You guys think you're entitled to anyone you want. Sox fans were talking about Konerko in August. C'mon now. I remember in the "Still We Believe" movie about the 2003 Sox season, there was a clip of Theo adressing a group of fans and saying something like "well come the trade deadline we should be able to get Randy Johnson, Bartolo Colon, or Javier Vasquez, etc..". Even your GM acted like that. Dont throw stones if you live in a glass house pal.
  12. He could replace Sheffield next year. This is his last year of the contract. At which point we can bring up Melky or sign Andrew Jones or something.
  13. How about Lo Duca as a catcher possibility? He will definately cost more than Hammock, but he, like Hammock, is versatile. He can play 1st, and the outfield. You know how i love versatile players. How bout both? Robby can be exclusive to Randy Johnson and be a backup utility guy the rest of the time. And then let Lo Duca and Posada platoon at C. I always think it is a good idea to carry 3 catchers, or 3 players who have catching experience. But not 3 players who can only catch, waste of a roster spot.
  14. I loved watching him on ESPN. Wonder where he goes from here.
  15. I think it would be cooler if Nomar knocked it out over the Monster. I always root for the former Yankees to hit homers when they come back.
  16. Thats giving u a lot, dont you think? Its not like he's a 21 year old phenom.
  17. Millar lol, j/p
  18. I believe his contract was 3 or 4 years (which he signed prior to '04). I could be wrong though.
  19. He wouldnt play 2nd to give Cano a day off. We have backup Infielders for that. He did play 2B as a kid and got drafted as a 2B. He converted in the minors. He is more likely to play 1st than 2nd. I do remember though that Michael Kay mentioned that Torre would be willing to play him at 2nd in an emergency situation (multiple injuries in a game, extre extra innings, etc..)
  20. I dont see how thats weird, they both play different positions. They could play Mora in the outfield, Nomar at third, Hernandez behind the plate, and Lopez at DH. OR alternate and whatnot.
  21. Good Thing. I do NOT want Melky traded. I wouldnt mind having Pierre though. I dont think the trade is official yet, it's the weekend. A holiday weekend at that. I doubt Bud is going to go into the office on a Sunday to sign off on a trade like this. He's never done it before. And besides, that site isn't the most reliable in the world. They said that the Mets and Wagner agreed on a deal like last week.
  22. what does Sheffield have to do with who gets brought in to play CF? Its not like money is an issue.
  23. Yea, I know now. At first I thought you meant the article I wrote and sent to Dan Shaughnessy, but then I realized that I didnt post that on the board, only made mention of it, so I didnt know what you were reffering to. I completely forgot about this. Thanks for the compliment though.
  24. I used to like MOta very much and hoped that we would pick him up. If healthy he will be a very huge part of that pen. Good job by Sox brass to get him in the deal as well.
  25. I think you guys are just setting yourselves up for disappointment. Just because they wear Red Socks doesnt mean they will automatically return to their prime form. To make it seem as if it is a foregone conclusion that you guys are going to have the best rotation in baseball and win the world series is ridiculous. Take it from me, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Last yeat the Yankees were touted as having one of the best rotations of all time and the best offense of all time. We were supposed to go 161-1 and then win 11 in the Postseason. Didnt happen, and you guys are hyping youselves up for 2006 just as we did for 2005. The team that does that never wins. The White Sox, the Angels, the Diamondbacks, the Marlins, the Yankee teams of the 90's, etc. Whatever, I know im begining to sound like an old broken record, so ill just stop.
