  1. Difference is, missed calls in the middle innings happen ALL THE TIME. This kinda s*** doesn't. And you're using examples of strike calls early in the game just to make it look like its a fair call, its not. Or to overshadow the call. You don't want Buehrle's performance to be overshadowed, lets not have this play overshadowed then either. Fair? And NO, I'm not rooting for a team because they were robbed...they were f***ing mugged in front of millions. But I am rooting for them because I want to, and have since they beat the Yankees. Believe me or not I don't care. Look back in the ALCS thread, I predicted the Angels in 6. Seriously, LOOK. I said that.
  2. Difference was, the calls in our series with the Yankees last year we're reversed and called CORRECTLY. This was not. This was called incorrectly and not reversed.
  3. Actually dude, they didn't lose fair and square. You're just saying that because your team was the victor. If the White Sox lost, you'd be crying conspiracy and all that crap. HORRIBLE CALL. Plain and simple. Angels should be up 2-0 in the series. Oh and Mister Crew Chief, what does 2+1 equal...THREE!!! And in baseball THREE strikes and your out, and don't give me the passed ball ********, HE CAUGHT IT!!! If thats what the crew cheif really said, he needs to get his head examined because thats ********. I'm just glad this wasn't a call made against us.
  4. Well no. Our season isn't GONE in the sense of playoff hopes, we still have guys who can play. I still see the Suns in the playoffs, because of Nash and my boy Matrix but its MOST DEFINATELY not something the fans in Phoenix want to hear.
  5. Not the only thing crashing, the Suns will have problems until hes back. I still see them as a playoff team. But this really hurts our title chances
  6. Wow. This is pretty depressing. http://aol.nba.com/suns/news/without_stat_051011.html
  7. HAHAHAHA, A-Rod for MVP then. LOL
  8. Garrett Anderson has ALWAYS been a great hitter and given NO props. He has like 1,000 career RBI's or something like that. Great hitter and quiet guy, that's why he is just "coming out from no where" in everyones eyes.
  9. Cavs have a good team, but they have not gelled yet. They could be vulnerable early, but I don't consider them East favorites just because of Hughes (who isn't the 3-pt shooter they needed), Damon Jones, and Donyell Marshall. MUCH improved but, I'm not putting them in the finals.
  10. I think this series will be good, not close to the NLCS, which will be the feature series (like last year with the ALCS) and I think Anaheim will win. I heard Byrd for game 1 also. Win one in Chicago, and they most likely have the series with three in Anaheim. Washburn is sick, not hurt. Depending on how much medicine is pumped into him and how fast he recovers from sicknesses, he could pitch this series. Even if Anaheim loses, I don't think the White Sox win it in 5. Hell no. They mauled a out of gas Clement, and besides that they didn't score in oodles. I like Anaheim in this series even with their "tired state." Remember the Sox last year, they won after a marathon ALDS. Anaheim in 6 IMO.
  11. I predict a 7 game thriller. Astros have a title wave of momentum after that 18 inning game. Should be fun to watch.
  12. You have everyones support here, including mine. It IS beatable. Look at Lance Armstrong, he beat it and is living a GREAT life (at least I think...) Stay strong and keep fighting, you're in my prayers and everyones.
  13. The details of this trade are sorta fuzzy for me. Who got who besides the Knicks getting Curry?
  14. Welcome to the board.
  15. Down year maybe, but he did have hamstring troubles for a period of time. I think hes worth it, him and Ortiz are extremely potent.
  16. Why is this even a debate after Konerko's quotes. Go for Huff.
  17. I hope so. He was good this season, and he should have won game 2. But I understand where hes coming from with those quotes of his, so it's hard to say.
  18. Fine and dandy, but signing those guys will make it increase. All this amounts to is people are just so eager to trade one of the best hitters our generation has seen. A HOFer when he retires in my book. And hes my favorite player, so it will SUCK if the Sox lost my favorite pitcher AND player in a span of two years. (Pedro and Manny)
  19. I meant jimmycarter05 he thinks this is MVP baseball or something. Signing every AL All-Star possible.
  20. OK, dude I don't mind having a stacked team, but that lineup would be expensive. Trading Manny would drop $20 million but that lineup would add (I don't know the numbers) but prob at least $35million. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR LINEUP NOW???? 901 runs is not enough for us? Its pitching, plain and simple. Trading Manny should not be the way to get the pitching we need.
  21. I was at practice when I found out, my coach told me. I said "Damn" under my breath and kinda was bummed.
  22. OK, so now were going to sign every damn free-agent out there huh? What's our salary going to be then...$250-$300 million??? Guys lets be realistic, we cant get Soriano, Huff, resign Damon, get Farnsworth, Tavarez, and Al Reyes JUST because we got rid of Manny. Dude he makes $20 million, not $100 million. And the Mets will NEVER trade Wright, hes too good at such a young age.
  23. I ALMOST positive that you're right about this, veto power...thats it. Anyway, I am COMPLETELY OPPOSED to trading Manny, even the thought is dumb. And here's why... 1) Say we do trade Manny, and for example we use 26 to 6's trade. Cameron, Heilman, Milledge, and Trachsel. OK, so we lose HELLA power and get money...doesn't sound good to me. (But I don't know a damn thing about Milledge) So now Manny is gone. And with the money we saved we sign (obviously not Konerko with the way hes talking and the way his team is playing) Huff. Well, that just sucks because now pitchers are going to MAKE Huff beat them because they are thinking when they see Ortiz come up "f*** this s***. I'm not letting Ortiz beat us, hes the best clutch hitter in baseball...Oh, good 4 fingers." Manny and Ortiz are putting up Ruth/Gehrig numbers! Why on God's green earth would ANYONE trade part of that kind of production. Ortiz's numbers go down significantly if Manny leaves town, theres no doubt about that. And what about Damon? He's not a lock to stay, and trading one of the INTEGRAL parts of the BEST OFFENSE IN BASEBALL will NOT help in our push to keep him here. So with Manny gone, and our Power looking like Ortiz and Huff (he plays in Tampa...I'm not sold on him regardless of his numbers). Thats not very appealing. So now, Manny is gone (one of the Top 3 hitters in baseball in my book...along with Pujols and A-Rod) and Damon is gone. Now Ortiz has got to be thinking "f***...my protection in the lineup has just been shipped out of town and now I got an ex-D'Ray protecting me? Our team doesn't look good at all. What the hell is going on?" And Ortiz gets angry and has a down year. And our offense suffers mightly. And well, this year as you ALL know, our offense carried us into the playoffs. NOT our pitching, which is what we really need to improve in the off-season. Another scenario... We trade Manny to the Mets...but it looks more like this: Red Sox get: OF Carlos Beltran SP Steve Trachsel RP Aaron Heilman Mets get: OF Manny Ramirez OK. We get an old pitcher with a bad back, an outfielder who has had a terrible season in New York (who is not even close to Manny in offensive prowess), and a nice arm out of the pen (which we ACTUALLY NEED). Again, our power is SIGNIFICANTLY drained, and Ortiz realizes that he has ZERO protection and will have a down year, because of no protection. (remember Beltran makes $17.7 million per year, doesn't give us the salary room to go sign anyone else). With basically no money left after the trade (which everyone seems to want to trade Manny for, to release his salary) signing Damon is COMPLETELY out of the picture, unless Henry and the boys want to catch George in the Total salary category. This scenario gives us a good arm in the pen in Heilman, but we lose an offensive powerhouse and Ortiz's protection. And we also lose our leadoff man, which fuels our offensive attack. Without Manny AND Damon, we are a VERY different team offensively and don't put up the kind of runs that we have the past few years. To me, these two scenarios are possible if either trade I mentioned goes through. I'm not sold on anyone besides Manny protecting Ortiz, if you couldn't tell. And I know everyone will say Konerko or Huff are sufficient, but honestly you'd rather have to depend on either one of them over Manny in the 9th tying runs on and Rivera on the hill? Maybe you would but I sure AS HELL do not.
  24. Ortiz hit .300 get it right before you explode. Also, he had ONE less homerun, and close to 20 more RBI's than A-Rod. Also Ortiz had 20 homeruns that either tied the game or gave Boston the lead, so your wrong there. Yankee Stadium has a VERY short left field (in height and distance) fence. Just because Ortiz has The Monster doesn't mean that all of his stats come AT FENWAY.
  25. Welcome. And yes, that was Mr. Smart who's on the Panthers
