They wouldn't hate him. But the guys on the team that put their all into the game and for this team, I'm sure they don't appreciate Manny's lack of effort, whether it be in jogging to first base or deciding to take a day off even though the team needs him.

Well I love Manny too but he asked to be traded himself. And I'm so sick of his attitude. Especially with what happened with Trot / Clement, he couldn't miss his day off and go play? That's s***.

But as stated, the Mets aren't as interested in building around younger players as they are in guys like Manny / Pedro etc. Wright is definitely a step up from Youk and Youk should definitely be traded then and not kept as backup and most likely would be.

I'd rather us get Wright over Reyes and I think the organization would probably push for a trade of Wright / anybody else, I think. Although both of them are pretty damn amazing. And us getting Reyes would leave Pedroia outta the loop entirely. Reyes is the same age, has tons more experience and success and would be killer at 2nd base. That would probably allow the Sox to move Pedroia. I honestly think IF a trade happens, it'll only involve the Mets. They really like Manny. And they can afford Manny, more importantly. If this trade goes through, it might be bigger than the Nomar trade ultimately.

That's true. I'd rather Reyes and Wright than Beltran and Wright, though because of who would play what position in the outfield if we got Beltran I think.

Beltran really isn't performing as well as he should this season though.

I enjoy the Mets trade. Wright / Reyes are amazing. Both batting near .300 with 54 & 44 RBI, considering they're both 22. They're the superstars of the future.

I would take David Wright and Jose Reyes in a split second. Wright is an amazing player and he's definitely a future star.

Good thing you're not in charge them. They're not just gonna discard him. They'll give him a shot to earn his spot back for the remainder of the season.

I watched the game last night, too. How the hell did that guy beat us? That must've been some kind of miracle for them. He's a terrible pitcher.

This whole thing has been way overblown. I hate to use the overused phrase, but this is just Manny being Manny. Who really takes him seriously? This is just needless gossip and controversey sparked by the media to give them something to talk about.
