    That whole pitching and defense wins championships stuff is overused and pretty irrelevant nowadays. 2004's team basically won on out-slugging everyone else, and their pitching and defense weren't all that great. I wouldn't say Philly would have the upper hand in a series against the sox. The Red Sox pitching staff is also pretty good at full health, and their stats are dragged down by a bad start. The Sox offense can beat any pitcher thrown at them. I don't remember the stats exactly but over the last year or so they've beaten tons of Cy Young winners and top of the line starters like it was nothing.

    I've had that feeling before when I swung a bat real hard during gym class in high school. That pain is intense. It ended up happening to both shoulders since I switch hit, and my shoulders have never been the same sense. For years there was constant pain and sometimes I couldn't lift my arms above my head. I still get occasional pain and a clicking feeling. I hope that doesn't happen to Jed.

    This thread makes me think, we should coordinate a large talksox meetup at a game at fenway next year. We'll somehow work out a way to pool our money together and buy a large group of tickets, meet up before the game and have some beers/hang, go watch the game together and have a good time.

    Really? Calling Crawford useless is downright stupid. Great, Drew has an .OPS that is higher by .035, padded by walking a bunch. Regardless of that Crawford has scored more runs, driven more in, gotten more hits and xtra base hits, and has a higher SLG% than Drew alone, AND ALSO THE ENTIRE RIGHT FIELD POSITION COMBINED. Woo hoo, Drew has a higher .OPS! What good does that do when you can't drive people in or score even less than someone with a lower OBP than you, or have to be out of the lineup a bunch of times for ******** little nagging injuries?

    Yeah, really. RF is a black hole pretty much right now. Drew Stinks, Cameron stinks. And Drew can't use the platooning as an excuse, he doesn't miss much because of it. I can understand it with Cameron since he's always been a starter and now he plays once a week or less. Wily Mo for starter.

    Still wouldn't call him a douchebag. The fact he said "I wouldn't play for the Yankees" doesn't mean anything. What else is he going to say being interviewed in Boston? "Yeah, I'd totally play for the Yankees, I don't care."? He'd be hated while still playing here. Hating him is petty. I don't even care about that s*** he said after the Yankees won the WS either. It's all PR talk. He's not going to say "Yeah winning the world series with the red sox was the greatest thing ever" while still playing in NY. That would be stupid. Don't seriously believe what these people have to say about things like that. It's stupid to do so.
