  1. Johnson strikes out Carl Crawford?? huh.....its gonna be one of those games isn't it...where nothing makes sense
  2. Great inning....good start boys....lets go Jason Johnson
  3. Screw that I want 8 innings damnit. I'm sick of our starters sucking....someone just pitch a good game....s***!
  4. Since August has begun....these are the hit totals the Red Sox have allowed: Cleveland: 13 Cleveland: 10 Cleveland: 12 Tampa Bay: 10 Tampa Bay: 12 ....double digit hits every game
  5. If there is one thing I know about baseball...nothing is predictable. Just when you see a game set up for a guaranteed win or loss....it doesn't work out that way. I don't like our chances to win tomorrow but then again Jason Johnson is due for a win. Speaking of chances...I don't like ours for making the playoffs. Our pitching is so bad it will be very difficult to go on a winning streak and gain momentum. The rotation needs to catch fire and our bats need to come to life (outside of Ortiz and Manny). Perhaps by the time Wakefield comes back, David Wells will be back to form and we can move....big question marks surround the fate of 2006 Red Sox.
  6. If he played for the Yankees I bet he hits a home run....can't we just get a break
  7. JAVY LOPEZ.....TIME TO GET YOUR FIRST HIT
  8. I was thinking the same thing. He was killing the ball last year and the beginning of this season.
  9. I don't know who I feel better about on the mound...David Wells or Jason Johnson
  10. Our pitching really is amazing. They can look so good just to fall apart.....I thought Josh Beckett already played this game
  11. Yeah he is really struggling as is the rest of that team. Randy Johnson pitches a gem (kidding) and they win with a Jorge Posada HR in the 9th. They will be hard to catch if they win out the rest of the season.
  12. I like the new Geico commercial with Little Richard...hilarious "Mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce, woooooo" .....is Little Richard gay??
  13. By this time I would think Andruw Jones has either cleared waivers or been claimed based on the fact he was placed on Tuesday. We will probably know shortly if there is any chance.
  14. I agree that the Red Sox did not set themselves up for a final run. We are now the ones limping into August and the pitching is getting worse. The way this moment is going we need to focus on the wild card but that will be tough considering Minnesota and ChiSox are going to be in the mix.
  15. Its strange but lately....everyones ERA is going up. Jonathan Papelbon is keeping his steady but at this point it doesn't move much either way. Josh Beckett said he calls his own game....I'm starting to think thats a bad idea. In fact, considering everyones ERA is going up...perhaps the coaching staff is to blame. Either these guys aren't preparing correctly, they are used at the wrong time, or a combination of things.
  16. My guess would be that the Braves organization has had many conversations with other clubs. I can see two possible scenarios: 1) The Atlanta Braves want to get a reaction from teams to determine what Andruw Jones will be worth next season before he becomes a free agent. 2) Teams could put in a claim but if they don't have a deal in place with Atlanta its quite possible they wouldn't make the attempt considering the money involved if he was released outright at that point. On that note a deal could be in place with a specific team.
  17. It would be nice is Javy Lopez could pitch
  18. Not this year but the end of next year I believe. Still a ways to go for Andruw Jones to be in reach of the Red Sox but its a chance I suppose.
  19. Place going yard for his 2nd homer this season. 2 run shot.
  20. I wonder....if we are tied after tonight with the Yanks for first....could we work out a waiver deal and take the player without the Yanks blocking us??
  21. However, a700hitter I think the front office should have worked harder to find a mid-point with teams. Brian Cashman told the Phillies the deal would happen on his terms and not theres.....how does that happen?? Why can't we do that where we tell a team...lets make a deal but we are going to rip you off
  22. That was for Andruw Jones. Roy Oswalt really wasn't available from everything I have read. The Red Sox thought they could get a deal but the Astros pulled him off the table along with Brad Lidge and Roger Clemens. ....they were unavailable for a trade
