    Edgar Renteria, and Jason Varitek are the only free agent players (non pitchers) the new Red Sox management spent big money on. I have a hard time seeing this front office make that kind of move.

    Agreed. He is one of the best hitting center fielders in the game. If you had him with Willy Mo Pena and Manny Ramirez then you have the most powerful outfield in the game. The only downfall is they all are right handed (small downfall). The Red Sox would certainly go after him but I can guarantee some team would offer him a better contact.

    Out of the pitchers the Red Sox drafted the last couple seasons....do any of them have that "one" nasty pitch. Brandon Webb developed his sinker into something nasty and built around that pitch. Johan Santana refined his changeup and became dominant. Mariano Rivera found his career when he got a cutter. Jonathan Papelbon developed a practically unhittable splitter. Does Bowden, Buchholz, Bryce Cox, Masterson, Kris Johnson, or Daniel Bard have that??

    So if we lose this game and the Yankees lose there game....that actually works against us because both Minnesota and Chicago gain ground in the wildcard while we don't gain anything in the division.....

    I doubt it would do him much better in the minors. You still pitch a game like you would up here. Let him get used to the seen in Boston and get him the experience. Its not like he is having a terrible time up in the majors. s*** he's 5-1 with an ERA under 4.00 ....he's hanging in there but its the fact he is on the Red Sox and not throwing shut outs that people are getting on him. Who gives a damn the rest of this team blows. I don't necessarily fault the young guys....Timlin, Foulke, Clement, Wells, Wakefield, Beckett, Varitek, Nixon......injuries and players underperforming is the problem.

    Just so you guys know.....Curt Schilling was nothing special until his 5th season in major league ball. Its rediculous to say a 22 year old can't have better control in his career.
