  1. TBS should be embarassed...this is the Yankees Network 2. Doug Meintkewicz tags out a player (thats a gold glove play) Andy Pettite is un-flapable. The Guardians can't get the ball out of the infield. Pettite doing what he needs and (mentioned 100 times in 15 minutes...) the Yankees are up 1-0
  2. This was the first time I got to see Phil Hughes pitch and I wasn't impressed.
  3. Chone Figgins has been dealing with an injury and its really limited his effectiveness. If this continues its a huge plus for the Red Sox....Figgins can create all sorts of problems on the basepaths when he is at the top of his game. Interesting note: The Angels have not faced Daisuke Matsuzaka. That is a big advantage for the Red Sox...especially if Daisuke can continue his success from his last start.
  4. Is this kid in the mold of a Scott Kazmir for anyone thats scene him? I hear mid-90s fastball and a power slider. If thats te case and he keeps the ball down with consistent control then I really like what we have. Again for anyone that has scene him, how is his delivery?....3-quarter delivery, high kick, comparison maybe?
  5. I'm ******** about this. Clay Buchholz may be one of the top 5 arms on this team....and they shut him down thinking he can't handle say....15-20 more innings this season. All this precautionary crap is pissing me off. He is NOT going to injure himself by pitching in the playoffs. There should be no pitch counts, limitations, nothing....for ANYBODY....its the playoffs....pull out everything you've got and go for the championship. Place the best players on the team and do everything to win every game..... This is a terrible scared shitless move by the front office and they are throwing away some very good innings which could result in the difference in a few games for the post season. Pissed off.
  6. So I'm bored and curious what others think...what is your lineup for the post season... 1. Jacoby Ellsbury 2. Dustin Pedroia 3. David Ortiz 4. Manny Ramirez 5. Mike Lowell 6. JD Drew 7. Jason Varitek 8. Kevin Youkilis 9. Julio Lugo
  7. He sucked and the Devil Rays aren't helping us
  8. Yankees tie there game with a lineup of bench players and we are down 2 runs.....lets put something together....you don't want to make things interesting
  9. Pena put up a great at-bat vs. Lopez.....I place more blame on Dice-K for the walks.....his control sucks and if I had my way in a short series.....game 1 = Beckett, game 2 = Schilling, game 3 = Buchholz
  10. Kevin Youkilis vs. Carlos Pena.....really kickin myself over that one....what could have been
  11. I hate Francona...I hope he gets the axe after this season. He doesn't keep Eric Gagne on a short leash but does for Clay Buchholz....long night for the bullpen and it will probably result in another Red Sox loss
  12. Can these guys talk about the Yankees some more? Especially Joba
  13. The Yanks are going to sweep this series.....mark my words
  14. I'd still rather have outfielders who bring more to the plate than strength. I like guys who make good contact, can draw a walk, bunt, move runners over, sac fly, hit for power, hit for average, have some speed, play well in the field....they don't have to be incredible at all those attributes or even possess all of them....but I would like them to have more than one.
  15. Would the Yanks really put Joba in the rotation when he only has 2 pitches and the days of Rivera are coming to an end?
  16. Gom....you are certainly high on the Yankee prospects but thats fine because we are high on the Red Sox (only natural). If I recall Chamberlain has already had some injury issues. Perhaps more so than Papelbon who (to my knowledge) has had one injury that put him out in his major league career. He is 26 I believe and you think he will only be around 4 more years? Buchholz is a back of the rotation starter...come on....anyone who has seen him pitch knows thats crap. He dominated everywhere in the minors and has dominated in the innings he has pitched at the majors. His curve is ok...not great...yikes watch the clips again. Hey if Buchholz is at the back of our rotation...I'd like to see what the rest of our rotation will look like.
  17. I'll lay down my two cents on this one but I won't compare everyone: Joba Chamberlain vs. Jonathan Papelbon: Now that I've seen the two I can say they are very close in the way they attack hitters. That being said Jonathan Papelbon is going to be the more dominant because of his control. Very few pitchers in the league can spot a high power fastball with movement the way Papelbon does. When his splitter is on...the game is over without question. Once teams start to see Joba they will learn more about him. Teams have had time to adjust to Papelbon and he still strikes out the best of them. Thats not saying Joba won't be extremely effective but if I had my choice I'm taking Papelbon. Hughes vs. Buchholz Personally I think this should be Hughes vs. Bowden since they are the same age but NY has rushed Hughes and in the end that may come back to bite them a bit. I like his composure and his curveball. Clay Buchholz has blown me away though....I knew his curve was spectacular but his change is Santana-like and that is something Hughes does not have. In the end I don't think you can go wrong but from what I've seen...I'll take Buchholz. As far as the rest....Bowden, Masterson, Kennedy, and Lester have a ways to go before I become truly excited about what they bring to the table.
