  1. oh god its.........Millar......think he is due for a HR??
  2. well that was embarassing.....time for many many hits....against....aw s*** bonderman
  3. its kinda funny....but its hard to believe we would be saying that lol...never thought about that a year ago
  4. no need to worry...Millar will be up next inning...STINK
  5. yea good quality effort on his part...he better get out of this and go the rest of the way not giving up a hit
  6. Considering Petagine played 1st everyday in Japan (won gold gloves) and played everyday at Pawtucket and is the same age as Millar.....I trust him
  7. I absolutly love watching him pitch in NY. I hope he stays there....I can't help but giggle every time I see him. For starters he looks rediculous all clean shaved. He looks even more rediculous when he attempts to pitch. Good thing they have Scott Proctor to bail him out when......oh wait, see what had happened
  8. I had Wade Miller pegged for a big second half but the injury has taken its toll. He looked real good against the White Sox a little while back but since has been slowed again with the arm issue. Having Papelbon up is just a bonus cause it gives Miller more time to heal without having to rush. The nice thing with Papelbon is he doesnt run into trouble until the 5th inning as opposed to Miller who still struggles with the 1st inning. That allows Tito to make the move to Gonzalez....which yesturday proved to be a great move. The other nice thing with Papelbon is we have a flame throwing pitcher now. Considering the rest of the starters can't throw much past 90 if they can hit 90 at all.
  9. If Mueller were to get injured I'm sure the Sox would bring Youkilis back up. I mean if the Sox need him he can be back in a day. Just cause he goes back to Pawtucket doesn't mean we won't see him in a century. Although I wish Youkilis was still there (nice hit yesturday BTW) I think Petagine needs to stay because that means one thing....less playing time for Millar. The addition of Olerud means...less playing time for Millar. As it is, Millar has been batting less and after last nights performance it has to be getting old at this point. I don't mind having Kevin on the team if he isn't playing. He can do that behind the scenes crap and get the team going. Between Petagine and Olerud...1st base is taken care of....Kapler has a hold on the OF until Nixon gets back....and if Mueller were to get injured....Youkilis can get back up to Boston the next day. No big deal
  10. haha yeah I was confused about the Ramon comment too. One thing I notice is that Tito does not have an everyday lineup. Cora, Kapler, Millar, Petagine, Stern, now Olerud....these guys all play. It seems the lineup changes everyday so he has his matchups vs. certain pitchers. If you look week to week its hard to notice who the backups are. The only everyday players on defense are renteria, ramirez, and damon.
  11. Game 5 bloop single cause I was there. I was sitting on the 1st base side and I've never seen that place go so crazy. It was almost like a mosh pit where I was....some guy came flying on top of everyone people being pushed and just complete chaos......incredible experience
  12. The Remlinger experiment has failed. This was against the Detroit Tigers. Its time to try out DiNardo, Alvarez, or Perisho By the way....I'm leaning toward calling up Hansen when rosters expand cause he still has not given up a run. I'm hearing that he looks fantastic and has more strikeouts than innings pitched. Bullpen savior on the way??????????? I'd actually like to throw in that I am quite impressed with Jeremi Gonzalez....he is really starting to put something together and is a strong long relief pitcher. I think Bronson can be the same thing and we would have two extremely good 2-inning pitchers down the stretch.
  13. Petagine has tons of use since Millar STILL can't hit. Looked like crap last game. Seems like every at bat he is off balance. I want Petagine on the team cause it seems he always hits the ball hard. A guy who does that will get hits and some HRs. He is far more devastating at the plate than Millar and can hit for more power than Olerud. Johnny Helmet will work the count better which is nice. Maybe Petagine is still there cause Millar is going to split with Kapler more in the outfield until Nixon gets back.
  14. The Red Sox could always make a trade for a 1st basemen. We have lots of pitching although not stellar and most likely Manny talks will continue. If the Sox went after a 1st basemen I would say go all out and go after Todd Helton. Having a rough year but lets face it...the guy can hit and play defense. Stick him in the Red Sox lineup and he has lots of protection and will see plenty of pitches. My guess would be the Sox don't go after these guys. Probably a steady lesser known player which I'm ok with.
  15. And thats what I'm saying. In those 7-10 days if Petagine shows he can hit and does well....then this shouldn't be much of a decision. If Petagine outperforms Millar it all batting categories and Tito sticks with Millar....I'm going to be pissed.
  16. As long as Petagine shows he can hit and does so with power...Millar may actually see a bump. Bellhorn would be back already if it weren't for Graffanino playing so well. Now Bellhorn can forget it cause he can't get back in the lineup. If Petagine keeps hitting well with some HR authority...Millar may be stuck backing up the outfield and 1st base. I say let Petagine hit regularly and see how he does with Olerud being the defensive replacement and Millar being a backup utility type player and club house guy.
  17. lefty / righty....i dont care as long as the guy can hit. If Petagine can hit the ball consistently...I see no reason to have a righty opposite him. Youk could fill in if need be. I really like this batting lineup: Damon Renteria Ortiz Ramirez Nixon Varitek Petagine Mueller Graffanino
  18. After this weekend what does everyone think about him??? I think it was just another showing he should be in the everyday lineup.
  19. East: Patriots (I'm done picking against them) Jets (Better offensive coordinator will help Chad) Dolphins (Still an excellent defense and will be able to run better) Bills (Losman will have to play against the best division 6 times) North: Ravens (Possibly the best defense in the league, JL is back) Bengals (Palmer will have a great year) Steelers (overrated team will come back to earth, 2nd year struggle for Ben) Browns (Dilfer at quarterback, enough said) South: Titans (McNair, Bennett, Calico, Henry, and Brown...not bad) Colts (Great offense but still, lack of defense will ruin SB hopes) Texans (Defining year for David Carr, this may be too high) Jaguars (If Fred Taylor can stay healthy they would be higher) West: Raiders (Randy Moss will be the difference for this team) Chargers (LT will need to do it again cause Breese may come back to earth) Chiefs (They can score, but can they stop anyone) Broncos (Jake Plummer is worthless and he has nobody to throw to) East: Eagles (Frustrating camp, everything will be fine when Westbrook shows) Giants (Manning will show some true colors this year) Cowboys (I hate Drew Bledsoe) Redskins (Moss and Jacobs at WR?) North: Packers (Explosive offense and a team who plays great at home) Bears (Should run the ball and play solid defense) Lions (Too many weapons to not win some games. Give the ball to KJ a lot) Vikings (No more Moss = No more hope for Daunte and his poor desicion making) South: Panthers (Delhomme is better than people think, great D and OL) Falcons (Vick will win somes games....and lose some games) Buccaneers (decent all around team..nothing amazing) Saints (This may be the year Aaron Brooks falls apart) West: Cardinals (Time for some Kurt Warner magic, great team at home) Seahawks (Still not good enough to get over the hump) Rams (No defense, now an average offense) 49ers (At least they got the smartest player in the draft)
  20. Everyone so far that has been linked to steroids has said they didn't mean to or didn't know which means......this whole thing is a conspiracy. Someone is giving steroids to athletes without them knowing and slipping it into there food or jabbing them in the ass without them being aware. Its all a conspiracy, these players are innocent and didn't mean to do it. ......horse s***
  21. lol tell us how you really feel. I love how Sheffield comes out and says players caught on steroids should be suspended for the year....wouldn't it be great if he was caught...then he was the only one suspended for a year
  22. lol I have to agree. I think Theo is just hoping someone pans out. We do need a lefty in a big way...hopefully Remlinger can take care of it but if not we need someone else. Perisho may be the answer but I don't know. We can't leave all the lefty duties to Mike Myers.
  23. This is true and the Sox don't reallllly need him at this point. We have enough RHPs in the bullpen. What we need is a lefty unless Remlinger can get back to form. I would like to see Hansen get called up to Portland quickly and take on the closer role. The talks about him being a starter are interesting. Many of us (including me) don't like the idea but the Red Sox know the system better than we do. Maybe they see Delcarmen being the closer and a rotation of Hansen, Papelbon, Sanchez, and Lester....who knows....I'm not a farm system guru but I do know the big addition of September won't necessarily be a callup but a certain Keith Foulke who needs to regain form.
