  1. Yep the second he took the mound tonight I says to myself, "well, there goes another game". Yep. They should have given him a short leash to begin with. This is the major leagues, not little league where every kid gets his turn. Send him down to Pawtucket or something. SOMETHING. Just find a place for him and bring him back IF and WHEN he is READY. If he never is, then that is what was meant to be. You can tell by the look in his eyes that he is afraid to even throw the frigging ball.
  2. Credit where credit is due. There Yankees were a great team. Back in the 20th century
  3. "Is this what it feels like to be a Yankees fan everyday?" Not at all. It was just a bad night; it happens once in a while. There is another game tomorrow, and there is not only hope, but expectation of winning more often than not. For Yankees fans, it's getting to be a daily routine. For tomorrow's game, there is nothing but a sense of dread that it may be worse than today.
  4. "I can see you taking the Wild Card. That's about it." Wild Card. Wet Dream. The only thing that will save the Yankees from finishing last in the division is that Tampa has 3 more series to go against the Red Sox. Right now Alex Rodriguez is curled up in a fetal position with tears in his eyes.
  5. "if you guys can do it in a month and a half then we can do it in 3+ months" Not if you can't beat Tampa 6.5 times.
  6. Look at 'em go!
  7. "wow we are 5 games from first, yea I guess our team is done with not even half the season gone yet" If they can't beat the bottom-of-the-barrel team in the same division five times, they haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of catching up with the division leaders.
  8. "Baseball is a crazy game and anyone can beat anyone." Once in a while. hahahahahahaha
  9. Beating Tampa Bay once is a turning point? Turning to what?
  10. Good thing they didn't do it with the Yankees. I would have gotten very confused.
  11. If the Yankees want to play in October, they can to go to Vegas and play all kinds of stuff.
  12. "While the yankees have sucked bad most of the season they are only two games behind the redsox at this point." They haven't had their share of games against other teams in in the Eastern Division yet. If Red Sox simply play at .500 pace while the Yankees are facing the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay, they will maintain the margin. Sorry Yanks. MAYBE NEXT YEAR.
  13. http://nittygrittyshop.com/maybenextyear.jpg MAYBE NEXT YEAR
  14. I'll say it again because it feels good. The DEVIL RAYS are too much of a threat to the Yankees right now for them to even think about whether they will catch up with anybody else. Maybe next year.
  15. "i think yanks and redsox will both pass o's in 2nd half and will gun it out for divsion." The Yankees are done. They're set to face a few competitive teams over the next week (yes, I do mean Tampa Bay), so they're going to slide further into their pit of quicksand. Maybe next year.
  16. I'd rather see the Red Sox lose 100 games a season than be stuck with a bunch of mama's boy douchebags like Pedro, Roger, Wade, and Mo.
  17. Just crop a pic of Alex Rodriguez in the dugout at the end of game 7 last October. The expression on his face was priceless.
  18. "What happens when the Yanks start winning again and Boston starts losing again." They can take turns with winning and losing streaks all season. The end result would be Yanks behind Sox. Yanks should be content to finish ahead of Tampa this year. I wouldn't even bet more than a dollar or two on that.
  19. "This year the sox dont have as good pitching as last year!" Anybody got any better? Not by much.
  20. Sorry, I couldn't help it. This was my homage to the Yankee fans here.
  21. Why all the panic when there's no reason for panic. Last year, even as the Sox pitching staff led (or nearly led) the league in most statistical categories, everybody was freaking out like the sky was falling. Deja Vu all over again. The Sox are just fine. Though I do wish they'd have a shorter leash on pitchers who are struggling (on a per-game basis), and less attention to "what's the pitch count" with those who have things under control (again, on a per-game basis).
  22. Will the Sox be able to catch up with the Yankees this year?
  23. It's a popularity contest, always has been, always will be. It's meant to be that way in the first place. Sort of a "fan's choice" parade. I'd be more concerned about why players are inducted into the Hall of Fame based on statistical achievements alone, without any consideration for "FAME" as a factor.
  24. I don't think the Yankees are going to make much of a showing over the full course of the season. All the other teams in the A.L. East have got their number. My bet is that Orioles and Sox go neck-and-neck down the stretch for the 1 and 2 spots, with Yankees and Blue Jays in a battle for third.
  25. Since the subject of "A Games" comes up, where's is Randy Johnson's? He knows he got a free lunch yesterday.
