  1. Haha yeah, at this point, there weren't many pitchers who you could have been referring to. Being a Yankee and having a huge salary, I do wonder if CC would have made it all the way back to me, but 22 picks is a lot and I didn't want to take any chances.
  2. He might come off the board right now. CC Sabathia, P (23 M) It's a very expensive contract, but up until this point, my team salary is relatively low. The thought of having the top three pitchers in my starting rotation produce anywhere between a 15-18 WAR is just too tempting, and CC is the last remaining pitcher who you can have confidence in to produce a 5+ WAR on the season. And at least I get to enjoy Lee and Sabathia in one rotation...
  3. Yeah, the thing is, there aren't going to be many 'fly under the radar' picks. The participants in this draft know their baseball, and they're not going to let a player be selected numerous rounds after that player should have been picked. I'm not accusing you of this, but the biggest mistake you can make is thinking you're smarter than everyone else, and assuming that you can wait to get players that you really want.
  4. No need, Tommy Hanson is available. Good pick too, I was hoping to get him at some point.
  5. No worries RSFFL. Thanks for helping out.
  6. Hopefully Ital gave you a backup pick, otherwise we're stuck. Cain was already selected.
  7. Stick around JBay, because I think it's about to get right back to you.
  8. Excellent. Once JBay comes on to make his pick, we should be able to get this thing moving.
  9. I like Buchholz a lot, but there are a couple reasons I didn't include him in that post. 1. Liriano and Weaver were picked more recently, and I mentioned them primarily because I was planning on using my most recent pick to select one of them. 2. While Buchholz was great last year, some of his peripherals suggest a regression might be in order for this year, and that same evidence doesn't exist for Weaver and Liriano (in fact, Liriano was extremely unlucky in 2010, and his numbers will likely improve in 2011). Some of these peripherals are... 3.61 FIP 4.20 xFIP .265 BABIP 79% LOB Posters in other threads have outlined areas in which Buchholz can be expected to improve in 2011 to help offset the expected normalization of these peripherals, and those ideas certainly have some merit. But for 2011, I don't put him in the same class as Liriano and Weaver.
  10. I like the Wright pick. He was one of the guys I was considering with my most recent pick, but I wanted to go with a very low salary in hopes of adding a very expensive player at some point.
  11. The three players I wanted for my next pick were all taken in the last three picks. The Weaver and Liriano picks were excellent, and now most (if not all) of the elite starting pitchers are off the board. And if you have the money, the Holliday pick is really good as well.
  12. Haha, well in that case, I'll have to make sure I'm online the next time my pick rolls around.
  13. Ital just wants to make sure that another Yankees' fan doesn't win a redraft lol... ...obviously kidding
  14. Haha, I was going to ask you which player you were hoping would get back to you, and my guess was Josh Johnson.
  15. Very nice pick. Considered taking him instead of Lee. He's so good, and I almost feel like he's often overlooked when people talk about the best pitchers in baseball.
  16. Very nice pick Keeper. It was between him, Lee, and someone else for my most recent pick.
  17. Sorry about that guys. Cliff Lee, P (8 M)
