  1. Good choice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_yTb7u-uiQ Two of my favorite shots of all time.
  2. Interesting. Not the biggest A-Rod fan I guess lol.
  3. Using a pick on a guy who didn't play a single snap this year? Bad decision in my opinion, and just when I thought you were putting together a competitive team...
  4. Yeah, over their entire careers I'd probably take Ruth, but no one had a better stretch than Bonds did from 2001-2004.
  5. I think Jeter would have been a good fit for my team, but he would have pushed my payroll up to around 80 million dollars. There are still 11 rounds to go, and I also still hope to acquire a big bat. The other hand, because of your payroll flexibility, I think he was an excellent pick.
  6. I hope you're right. I think it would be a real shame if Barry Bonds wasn't included. He's arguably the greatest offensive player of all time.
  7. You likely won't find a great deal of support for this view, but when it comes to inclusion in the HOF, I'm right there with you. Barry Bonds is one of my all time favorite players, simply because I loved watching him hit. It's simply an opinion, but steroid use is meaningless to me.
  8. I don't think allowing salary transfer in deals would be a justification for uneven deals, simply because that's what happens in MLB. There's a very clear reason that uneven trades aren't allowed - because someone can't be allowed to draft more than 25 players in a 25 round draft. On the other hand, I agree with the second point. It's important to remain consistent, and implementing new rules over the course of the draft disrupts the all important continuity of things.
  9. Anyway, I'm still looking for help offensively, via the addition of a middle of the order bat. If anyone is looking to acquire pitching help for offense, let me know.
  10. That's a fair point, but I think that's a legitimate part of the game. If a team can get more value than their cap through shrewd trades, I think they've earned it. But, regardless, it's not that big of a deal to me, and I don't see this rule change based on Ital's and Dipre's unwavering stance.
  11. Haha yeah, Ital's right, I'd be all for it. But if Ital and Dipre feel it's too difficult to keep track of, then I respect that stance as well.
  12. Ethier doesn't make all that much sense for me. I can't play him in the outfielder, and Swisher has posted just as good, if not better numbers the past two years.
  13. I'm interested in a middle of the order bat. I know how vague and general that is, but if anyone is willing to deal someone that fits that description (and is interested in pieces that I have), let me know.
  14. Thanks for making my picks today Ital. Nice to see how many we got in.
  15. Thanks Keeper. I like the Beckham pick as well. I was at the 2009 Yankees/White Sox series in Chicago and came away from that thinking that he was a star in the making. He disappointed last year, but I think he's a very good bet to rebound.
