  1. TOR, down 5-2 in the 8th, have the bases loaded and one out. EDIT: CJ Wilson gets out of it.
  2. TOR, down 5-2 in the 8th, have the bases loaded and one out. EDIT: Should be in the TEX GT.
  3. Cole Hamels pitched a complete game, two hit shutout tonight for the Phillies. In his last two starts he's pitched 17 shutout innings. Great news for the Phillies.
  4. Girardi continues not to treat these games with as much seriousness as he should.
  5. Wow, Girardi is pretty awful. Letting Torre go was the biggest mistake this franchise ever made. EDIT: Got lucky leaving Burnett in there for two extra batters, in my opinion. I think it's also pretty clear that Marte has surpassed Coke on the depth chart, which I like.
  6. Had potential for a big inning there. Big hit from A-Rod though.
  7. Please don't bunt Joe. EDIT: No bunt, but Damon has looked awful tonight. Up 3-0, takes a strike, and tops out to left. EDIT: Two pitches (first and last) that haven't been called strikes all night were called strikes against Teixeira.
  8. Playing with fire all night. Eventually it was going to cost him. I don't care what you say Jacko, having to start AJ Burnett in the playoffs is a huge concern, probably the biggest on this team. EDIT: And Girardi continues to manage as if the Yankees have nothing to play for. Anyone in their right mind could see this coming.
  9. It's one thing to pitch poorly, it's another thing to make mental mistakes. Terrible job by AJ.
  10. His August ERA was 6.03. This is not just a problem every so often.
  11. Unreal. I can't believe this guy is going to have to start a playoff game. EDIT: Pitching for the New York Yankees is a huge concern.
  12. Questionable call might wind up really hurting the Yankees here.
  13. Amazing. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_09/day_01/gid_2009_09_01_bosmlb_tbamlb_1//pbp/pitchers/458567.xml&batterX=090901_195401&innings=yyyyyyyyy&s_type=3&sp_type=1&h_size=700&v_size=500
  14. Hahaha, nice, quick edit. 2-1 Yanks. Both pitchers look pretty bad.
  15. The only two batters that Burnett has done a good job against have both gotten on.
  16. Damon has looked terrible in his plate appearances. Taking the best pitches to hit, and swinging at pretty bad pitches (for the most part).
  17. Slowly the Burnett regression might be beginning. EDIT: He really looks terrible so far.
  18. I said it in another thread, but it's probably more relevant here. This series very much reminds me of Yankees-Red Sox 8/26/08-8/28/08. 1/3 is enough, 2/3 is more than enough, and a sweep probably puts the 2009 Tampa Bay Rays to rest.
  19. I don't really agree with Crunchy's point, but you have to remember that that Astros have always played in either a dome or a retractable dome.
  20. The Red Sox will benefit greatly in the first round if they don't have something to play for the final few games, and are able to align their rotation. They will be very tough to beat in the first round if Beckett and Lester are pitching four of the potential five games.
