  1. Walk-off home run for Johnny Damon today, who is off to a nice start.
  2. Only watching on gameday, but a nice recovery from Dice-K, although it seemed like he got a couple gift strikes (something he could certainly use).
  3. Your 'FEARLESS' prediction isn't looking good lol.
  4. Well, rough day for the Yankees. Vazquez continues to struggle, Granderson probably headed to the DL (per Girardi), and the Yankees lose a game that they led with seven outs to go. They really need Park back to sure up that bullpen, and Boone Logan is going to be making a push to move ahead of Marte on the depth chart. EDIT: Granderson to the DL. Melancon up.
  5. Very frustrating to see Posada chase two so-so change-ups.
  6. Very risky move by Joe, because there is a definite possibility that Ozzie pinch hits. EDIT: Well he didn't pinch hit, but that was just a great piece of hitting by Pierzynski.
  7. Well I guess I spoke too soon about Swisher. That was a bomb.
  8. Sergio looks good, and he seems like a different pitcher as he's further removed from surgery. Besides the money factor, I think the Yankees really did feel that he was a better bet moving forward than Gaudin. If it comes to it, I wouldn't be upset if he had to be slotted into the rotation.
  9. They got a run, but A-Rod had a chance to make it much more. Couple great pitches to hit in that AB, including the last one. EDIT: Offense just doesn't look good today, when you consider all the pitches they've missed.
  10. Very close to getting Danks out of this game. Need something from the middle of the order. EDIT: The ABs from Tex continue to improve.
  11. When it comes to Yankees' fans, I'm one of the biggest Javy Vazquez supporters there is. Unfortunately, this isn't working out so far, and he's showing no signs of improvement. The obvious move would be to pull him from the rotation, and while I'm close to that point, I'm not quite there yet. His next scheduled start is 5/7 at Boston. That would be an enormous mistake. Fortunately, the previous day is an off day, giving the Yankees the option to skip him. Move everyone up a slot in the rotation (Hughes - 5/7, Sabathia - 5/8, Burnett - 5/9, and Pettitte - 5/10). Skipping Javy the next turn through the rotation would prevent him from facing Boston, and the extra rest might allow him to figure things out. Then, start him on 5/7 at Detroit. If he still struggles, then the Yankees might have to consider other alternatives.
  12. You can only expect so many two out hits in a row, against a pitcher as good as Danks. For the second night in a row, Swisher absolutely kills them in a big spot. I miss the guy who would just strikeout in those spots, instead of hitting into double plays.
  13. There has to be a point where the Yankees start to take Swisher's struggles at NYS seriously, especially when Swisher readily admits that it's something he's thinking about. He just killed the Yankees right there, mainly because he's hitting second. With Johnson in the lineup, at home, he should be dropped down in the order.
  14. Hahaha, unfortunately you're stuck with him. Enjoy.
  15. Unfortunately it might be time to think about replacing Vazquez with Mitre, and this is coming from a big Vazquez supporter.
  16. You have absolutely no idea what Joba is or isn't doing under his own accord. That's total speculation. Anyway, Guthrie has a history of hitting Yankee players, but Joe made it very clear that he didn't feel there was intent. He was just pointing it out - hardly whining.
  17. You expect Joe to call out one of his pitchers through the media?
  18. Yup, not sure what his complaint could have been.
  19. Bad job by the runner at first there. It was clear from the start that it was going to be an out, albeit a long one, and it would have been an easy tag up for Izturis.
  20. Another nice game so far from Cano. A solo home run, and a terrific play going to his right.
  21. Their opening day payroll was $138,178,379 (per Cots), and it has steadily increased since 2007 (including a pretty big leap this year).
  22. Obviously this is a joke/baiting thread (which I don't have a problem with, for the record), but on a serious note, as I mentioned in the Yankees' GT, I do believe he might be on the cusp of breaking out. He has had significantly better ABs the last two games than he had through the first three weeks of the season, and I wouldn't be surprised if he got hot when the Yankees got back home.
