  1. Big waste there. Heart of the order, Davis falling behind everyone, yet they get nothing.
  2. And it wasn't even a complete salary dump, as the Astros are picking up more than half of the remaining money that Berkman is due this year. Great deal by the Yankees.
  3. Bases loaded, one out, and Frazier up. Lester doesn't throw a single pitch in the strike zone and he strikes the guy out on four pitches. In the spot when the pressure is really on the pitcher, that's terrible.
  4. Davis getting very lucky. EDIT: And now Hughes is starting to get lucky.
  5. This is great news... EDIT: BSN beat me to it.
  6. This is also interesting (I'm just stealing these couple links from MLBTR)... http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/this-just-in/2129597/gammons-sox-wont-add-bat
  7. This would remind me a bit of the Justice trade.
  8. I'm here a decent amount.
  9. Another good inning for Robertson.
  10. Once again, he has a 2.30 ERA since May 8th. Robertson doesn't have to pitch better than he has most of the year, he just has to keep pitching like he has for the majority of the season. I'm forced to believe, at this point, that you're simply not reading my posts. They also don't need Hughes to transition seamlessly to the bullpen, they would just need him to be serviceable. Also, Aceves might be back at some point, which would be a boost. But again, in the playoffs, they can ask Rivera to get six outs. Conceivably, if just one other reliever steps up, they should be OK.
  11. Just missing so many pitches.
  12. CC throwing really hard thus far.
  13. Excellent throw from Gardner, and a great play by Cervelli. Nice to see a Yankees' catcher block the plate for once.
  14. Three good swings on hittable pitches. Just missed them.
  15. If this is indeed the case then I guess I can't blame them. I had just read that they were willing to take on his entire contract. Who knows.
  16. You should avoid the sarcasm unless you're sure your point is a valid one. Robertson got off to a poor start this year, but here are his numbers from May 8th on: 27.1 IP, 2.30 ERA, 29 Ks (and that's all with a .352 BABIP over that stretch) Additionally, he hasn't allowed a run in his last eight appearances. Of course you can't ignore what he did over the first month of the season, but when you're trying to predict what he's going to do moving forward, I'd say his numbers from May 8th on are extremely relevant. Furthermore, the exact quote that you responded to was "if Dave Robertson continues to pitch well". That clearly implies, if nothing else, that he has pitched well recently (not necessarily throughout the duration of the season).
  17. Well, I've give Boone Logan this, if he can throw fastballs like that consistently, he can be successful, especially against lefties.
