  1. Never said it was on the pitching. Tell me, which part of my post do you disagree with?
  2. They might very well get swept by the O's, and then they'll go into a series against Texas where all three pitching matchups favor the Rangers. With this team's starting pitching, coupled with the difficult schedule down the stretch, I'd be surprised if they won the division.
  3. If they have to lose, I'd rather it be to Buck than any other manager. EDIT: Although I obviously wouldn't be able to take solace in that if this was a more important game. But whenever they aren't playing the Yankees, I'll root for the O's.
  4. Sure, anything is possible. It's possible that Jeter could have a huge postseason, but there's no reason to expect it. At this point, the way AJ is pitching, there's no reason to expect those kind of performances against the best offensive teams in baseball. Most Yankees' fans still want to cling to the Good AJ/Bad AJ meme that rang so true last year. Unfortunately, it just isn't the case this year. His overall numbers are much worse this year than they were last year. A more accurate meme for this year would be Decent AJ/Bad AJ, a meme that would be another way to describe a subpar pitcher. Good AJ was able to get it done in three of his postseason starts last year. Decent AJ, in all likelihood, won't be able to replicate that feat this year.
  5. Jeter is back! Lock that man up.
  6. Well that was going to happen eventually. CC has very little tonight.
  7. And Jeter hits it to the only spot on the right side of the infield where there was a fielder. Lots of bad luck these in this first inning.
  8. Some poor command from CC, some poor defense from Granderson and Posada, and some bad luck.
  9. Posada is just brutal defensively. CC hasn't been hit all that hard this inning, but there's something very off about him tonight.
  10. And the night gets started with a poor read from Granderson. EDIT: And a passed ball by Posada. EDIT 2: It's too bad the Yankees have their best center fielder in left field.
  11. Good point. 7/140. Get it done Cashman.
  12. He would still be given a chance in the postseason every single game. It would just happen at the bottom of the order instead of the top. As for possibly creating tension between Jeter and Girardi, assuming Jeter signs an extension with the Yankees, at some point Girardi is going to have to make some decisions that likely won't sit well with Jeter. If it has to happen at some point, there's no reason to put it off if it should happen now.
  13. Yeah this guy is not a major leaguer.
  14. Wow this pitcher is bad.
  15. Not a good play by Papelbon on the bloop double. He is just standing on the mound staring at the plate while his middle infielders sprint out to the outfield. He's looking at an unoccupied second base and he did nothing about it.
