  1. Oh yeah, never take Pedro out of the banner at the top of page. Please?
  2. I can only imagine what Pedro's 2000 .167 BAA would've come out to in historical context (deadball ERA, raised mound in 1968, etc.)
  3. If Pedro pitched for the Mets in 2000 (where lgERA in that stadium was 4.36) his ERA would've come out at 1.53. If he was a 1968 Cardinal with the mound as high as it was in the lgERA in that stadium was 2.90, Pedro's 2000 ERA would've come out at 1.02.
  4. I'm liking this move for a career Pedro standpoint. His career ERA will go down, ERA+ up, and rate stats up.
  5. I made a mistake, you're right. I was thinking 13.41 for Randy at the time, I didn't think it was Pedro. Pedro had 313 K's in 213.3 innings, which comes out at 13.21.
  6. I'd rather give Varitek a 10 year, $252 million contract.
  7. Look at Jeter's and Renteria's defensive numbers. They're both average.
  8. Jeter's better than Renteria
  9. Yeah, for more than twice the price.
  10. My favorite numbers. 285 ERA+ in 2000 (best ever) .167 BAA in 2000 (best ever) 13.41 K/9 in 1999 (MLB record until 2001) .472 OPS against in 2000 (best ever) 8.88 K/BB in 2000 (YES! 9:1 ratio) Only pitcher in AL history with two consecutive unanimous CYA's. Best ERA+ ever 2.52 Red Sox ERA (2.27 ERA into 2004) Third best H/9 ever, W/L% ever, BAA ever, WHIP ever.
  11. Take out this year and Pedro was 101-28 (.783) with a 2.27 ERA in 6 years with us.
  12. Nomar and Pedro, still my two favorite players in the bigs.
  13. Who care's about contact. It's a number two hitter's job to get on-base for the amazing hitters like Ortiz and Manny. I'd rather a guy who walks 88 times and gets on base over 37% of the time. Not somebody who had a PATHETIC .327 OBP.
  14. If him and his .327 OBP hit behind Damon instead of Bellhorn's .373 I'll shoot someone. How can some of you honestly say this is a greats signing?
  15. I don't know I searched and it sayed 9/3/2004 Klecko hits Wallace. Typo, obviously.
  16. I'll guess either David Wells or Dan Klecko again.
  17. Say it. I think I know.
  18. Unless it was you. That it would be unexpected.
  19. Remember though, we didn't sign Pedro. We traded for him.
  20. Pedro wasn't a a future HOFer when we got him either. Hmm.
  21. God no. Clement sucks. He has no consistency, no control, and he would get torched in the AL.
  22. Until I hear this from a more reliable source than empire then well...
