  1. Hello everyone from Dentention....
  2. Sabres defeat Thrashers 5-2, more help for the Bruins who are tied with Atlanta for 10th place, with 1 game in hand..
  3. http://cache.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//Headline_Archives/BDD_alex_gonzalez2.jpg lookin' good A-Gonz
  4. I'd also like to see how Wang responds after that shoulder injury he suffered late last season, will his shoulder hold up? We'll see.
  5. obv. both pitching staffs have ? marks, but IMO I think the yankees pitching staff relies on pavano and if he has another year like last year, don't expect small to come in and do the job he did last year. the sox are very deep in pitching, and I think they will do just fine. the GG defense in the infield will help greatly, and take a little bit of pressure off the pitchers. Also, they know they wont have to go 7 or 8 innings with a MUCH stronger bullpen coming out to close the game. example: Innings 1-5: Beckett (on a bad day) 6th: riske 7th: seanez/tavarez 8th: timlin 9th: foulke that looks damn good.
  6. End of 2nd: 3-2 Sabres
  7. haha Yankshater
  8. I'm uncertain about Youk at defense. But other then him, our infield defense should be leagues above what it has been in recent years. Our outfield defense might have slightly improved, but not greatly. But I think the pitching staff should feel pretty comfortable with this infield.
  9. is Torii Hunter a FA next year? if so sign him, move coco to RF.
  10. Sabres lead Thrashers 1-0, game has playoff implications for the Bruins, I assume.
  11. how many dukies have succeeded in the NBA, and yes I am comparing him to every other duke basketball player in the NBA.
  12. No, he's gonna skip the Caribbean Series, which matches the winners of the winter leagues in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Mexico in a round-robin tournament. But he will still compete in the WBC. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060131&content_id=1304144&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  13. I've got this game on, and it's got me shaking my head. Yeah, Tim Thomas has given the Bruins good goaltending, but it's more than that. The Sens are playing sloppy hockey and giving the Bruins alot of odd-man rushes up the ice. It's almost like they expected the Bruins to roll over and all they had to do was show up. Wrong.
  14. Kobe gets props for 81, but Redick also shot 85% from the field, going 8 for 10 from 3 point land. Thats pretty impressive, though he will never be able to do anything close in the Pros. They actual still play this thing called "defense" in college On the other hand, The college 3 point line is a chip shot and the Duke offense is designed to set endless screens for Redick on a much longer shot clock.
  15. Actually, according to the standings, Carolina is.
  16. maybe this would make for a better discussion, What's more impressive? Kobe Bryant getting 81 points on 46 shots, or JJ Redick getting 40 points, on only 13 shots?
  17. Best of luck to the future Hall of Famer as he gives it one last shot. However, nothing like moving to the ultimate pitcher's park.
  18. i'm sure you wouldnt care if the bruins continued to be on a skid
  19. no not kay, please no kay
  20. Just for fun since we are basically 2 months from Opening day Red Sox Projected Batting Order 1. C. Crisp 2. M. Loretta 3. D. Ortiz 4. M. Ramirez 5. M. Lowell 6. J. Varitek 7. T. Nixon 8. K. Youkilis 9. A. Gonzalez (Most Likely) Starting Rotation 1.Schilling 2.Beckett 3.Wakefield 4.Clement 5.Papelbon/Arroyo (whoever wins it in ST, and I think Paps will) Bullen Long Reliever Dinardo/Arroyo 6th- Riske 7th- Taveras/ Seanez 8th- Timlin 9th- Foulke My thoughts: - What can i say about this lineup? works pitches well and will be atop the majors yet again. -As far as defense is concerned, we will be better than we were last year, the left side of our inifield is GG caliber if we sign gonzalez. -I think our rotation will be very good. obviously, there are question marks but look for it to be a strength of this team. -I really like the BP this year, if Foulke returns to form, it could be one of the best in the majors. Taveras is proven, seanez had a great year, and you always know what you are gonna get from timlin. look for lester to come up the same way that papelbon did. Yankees Projected Batting Order 1.J. Damon 2.D. Jeter 3.A-Rod 4.Sheffield 5.Matsui 6.Giambi 7.Posada 8.B.Williams 9.R.Cano Starting Rotation 1.R.Johnson 2.Mussina 3.Pavano 4.Wang 5.Chacon Bullen Long Reliever Small/Wright 7th-Myers/Villone(until Dotel is healthy) 8th-Farnsworth 9th-Rivera My thoughts: -I think the batting order up there is going to be the opening day line up. You have bassically 2 lead off men at the top of the lineup. It will lead to alot of RBI oppertunities for the middle of the lineup. -As far as defense is concerned, they will be no better than they were last year - IMO their rotation really hinges on Pavano. If he doesnt produce more than he did last year and around what he did 2 years ago, then this team is going to be in big trouble. -I dont like the BP outside of Rivera. Farnsworth is a gas thrower who is probably going to get lit in the AL east. Myers and Villone are avg. at best. Who knows about Dotel? If he can get back to where he was 2 years ago he and Mo can be a good 1 2 punch but I dont expect that to happen
  21. matsui didn't get beaned, he got brushed back.
  22. Yes you are, MJ .. 100 times out of 100
  23. He hasn't been traded yet, so I don't think he will now, unless its for Miguel Cabrera or Pujols
  24. They signed Mohr for a 4th OF, and Willie Harris could also fill that void.
