  1. I'm relieved for all of us, him included, that we won't need to watch him come in and struggle and blow games or put Sox further behind. HOWEVER, I am eternally grateful for Alan's incredible contributions last year and in 2003. Let's not lose sight of what a remarkable season last year was. It probably couldn't have happened without Embree and for that I'll always be in his debt and all RS Nation should as well. Necessary move I think but I stand up and tip my hat to the man who meant so much to us last year I can picture Embree on the mound in yankee stadium, game 7, alcs championship, ninth inning and oh by the way the sox won!
  2. I don't think the deal has anything to do with Mueller going to the twins. I still don't think we want Lowell....but I could be way wrong.* We'll see... It is interesting though that we haven't heard that it's a done deal yet with Baltimore. Makes you think it's not so close after all and we might still be in it..
  3. reading about what you guys said it might be the right thing to do but Billy Mueller plays his heart out every game and Youk, as good as he is, isn't a full timer just yet. Adding a decent pitcher is great, but sending Millar to the Astros is a better idea than dumping Mueller.
  4. Hold The Phone: This trade may fall through
  5. we only need a 2nd basemen for this year (or til bellhorn comes back) to make room for pedroia hopefully next year...though i wouldn't mind having soriano or hudson
  6. sox most likely out of running for mr. burnett...
  7. how about orlando hudson?
  8. welcome, i dont like you and never think i really will soo yeah thats all i have to say.... PS. It definetely wasn't ketchup
  9. yeah whatever.... how many 1 run leads has he kept? dum dum dum....0!!!!!
  10. hahah 828, not as good as 41 but theres like a 467836366493396349643896349683 schools so its not terrible.
  11. hahhah thats just dandy, next year he will prly be their pitching coach since mel said this is his last year and next year even WE can run on the yankees, he will be teaching every last one of his pitchers to pitch out of the stretch each and every time
  12. i dont think 17-1 is bringing out anything good....
  13. Yes or No...Playing the Yankees brings out the best in us?
  14. sportsmanship...ha, its overrated just playin with you guys, although im not a huge fan of the yanks and sox "shaking hands"....gives me the chills just thinking about it
  15. this guy can't be any worse than BK Kim........can he? *knock on wood*
  16. yup I know, but new yorkers will always be who they are, arrogant biatchesssss i know what you're thinking..."yeah that guys a new yorker", 1.) i dont live in nyc 2.) im in thailand for the next 3 1/2 weeks
  17. OK, we have ortiz you don't, why are you posting on a red sox board anyways, we actually like to have intelligent conversations/debates, you are just wasting space....basically heres what you said "the red sox didnt win the alcs, the yankees lost it", heres an idea if i can quote stiffler "I'll get you a spoon so you can eat my ass", later asswipe p.s. face it you are now the definition of Choke, look C-H-O-K-E up in the dictionary and you will see the yankees having a gangbang! (just take a look at my sig)
  18. you have really been disappointing me latelys elsrbueno with all of your negative posts...what kind of sox fan are you?
  19. ellsbury has just signed!!!! so we've signed 15 of our first 16 picks from the draft....c'mon hansen http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20050713&content_id=1130340&vkey=pr_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050713&content_id=1130386&vkey=news_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos
  20. we have a 14 time boys (4 in a row) and 3 times girls new york state lacrosse champions at west genesee, and #1 boys team in the nation.
  21. i saw it on boston.com, and I have come to see that they are pretty credible
  22. ill try not to be bias: arroyo vs mussina- edge: sox (mussina has been everything but spectacular, and arroyo is inconsistent, both are rested, so this could be the better offense and bullpen (like schillingisthenatural said schilling and bradford will be in the pen for this) wins. wells vs wang- edge: sox (only if wells pitches to his capabilities, wang is a control pitcher) clement vs johnson- edge: yanks (beat us twice this season, clement will have to give up two runs or less, but again rj has been very inconsistent this yea, so this too could be up in the air) wakefield vs pavanoverated edge: sox (yanks always have trouble with wake) i say we win 3/4 or a split, which I'd be very content with the way we played just before the break
  23. not as cool as curling, but cricket is a close #2
  24. has the trade been announced offcially yet?
  25. ok believe me im as much in agreement as youk/olerud platooning at first as mucha s the next red sox fan but we don't know how Youk/Olerud would play if they were in the lineup every day. Many people have expressed concern over Youkilis' ability to hit if he was put in the lineup every day. I like Olerud as much as the next guy, but at his age I'm not sure I want him in the lineup everyday. I certainly would consider trading Millar, but I would certainly not DFA him. If they traded Millar and brought up Petagine, I would certainly be fine with that, but I'm not sure we can count out Millar just because he's had a sub-par 1st half. Even with him in the lineup, they're #1 in the league in runs and OPS!, with that said i would do a millar/qualls trade in a heartbeat but the astros are not willing to.
