  1. redsox rooter, easy. i think hes right with a lot of his post. every year that we are contenders we get knocked out. youd think a team as good as us should be able to at least win it all at least one of the chances we get for the past 86 years. im not worried, but i do think its possible to sweep the yankees at fenawy, and go back to NY with a 3-2 lead. they got the wall puncher against a great young pitcher. i think the yankees have really stepped up their pitching, pitching COMPLETE GEMS may i add against the best lineup in the AL, arguably. the yankees are just a great team in the postseason who dont lose too much. yankeesrule was right, we do somehow get eliminated every year. hopefully not this year, but if we dont win tonight its over, the yanks wont lose 4 straight. period.
  2. im goin to the game tonight.
  3. all i can say is i was at that fight game 3 alcs last year, and im going again tomorrow...i hope theres a good one for me to see!!
  4. if we remember back into last playoffs, in the oakland series we were hitting JACK SQUAT, but later in the series we came through and killed the ball. i think its going to be similar this year. starting tomorrow night, hopefully without a rainout because i cant go another day without a game, our offense will pack a punch. NY, your going to be down 2-3 when u leave fenway. and i think its damn possible.
  5. in a sense i would like there to be a rainout for pedro, but yet again, i have tickets for the game tomorrow night...but i believe lowe has the capability of pitching well. after all, previously in the playoffs hes proved he can be money in the playoffs.
  6. well, heres the link. schilling WILL be scratched from game 5 (if necessary), and i like the move. the only thing that bothers me is that its official that derek lowe will start in his place. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bo...s_bos&fext=.jsp
  7. well hopefully we can get back on track in game 3, we win there, we are back where we were last year. go sox!
  8. if we win tomorrow night we are right back to where we were last year. come on guys, its not over yet. if we lose tomorrow night, yea it is, but dont get so down already. we still have a possible 5 more games to play, needing to win 4 of them and the yankees 2. come on.
  9. it also seems like that when they do score runs, they tihnk its just enough and pedro can hold the lead no matter what. ESPECIALLY against the yankees, no lead is ever secure until the 27th out.
  10. yeah thats true. i hate it when u can dream of a perfect team but in reality its not possible...unless your the MFY.
  11. hes right you know, but it is annoying, but pedro gave them something to chant so i dont blame them. that first walk to jeter the first batter of the game pissed me off, not to make excuses, but the first 2 pitches were f***ing strikes. if not, a centimeter off the damn plate.
  12. i have to agree with ahhchon on so many things here, i might actually not-knowingly quote him. rivera is an OUTSTANDING closer, and i agree that id take him over foulke anyday. not to mention i have A TON of respect for him. although i think saying hes an mvp is stretching it, i dont believe MVP awards are for closers. its time for bandwagoning yankee fans like paulus who dont post anything of interest or benefit other than red sox suck to SHUT THE f*** UP. guys, its not looking good, in all honesty, the yankees are looking better so far. they gunned down schilling, ankle or not, the man is still schilling, and they shelled him. their pitching which never looked too good in the season have pitched gems. their closer has saved them everytime. we simply cant get anything started against these guys. ill be the second (after ahhchon) to admit that im willing to accept a yankees win in this series. if this type of play continues, the yankees are going to sweep us. theres no excuse for whats been happening, no curse talk, nothing. so far, we just dont have what it takes to beat the yankees. i believe we can win 3 at home, and thats what im hoping for, but i wont be surprised to soon be looking at a 3-0 hole needing to win 4 straight to simply stay alive. sadly, once again, the yankees look like theyre going to be the AL representative in the world series... but im NOT giving up hope.
  13. buddy...read the thread, it was in response to pokey leaving.
  14. weve ruined rivera before and we can still do it. i still have positive thoughts unlike u
  15. i dont know what youre saying. to me, winning a world series is full of pride and joy. the next season, we go at it again, and the yankees will still be the yankees, with an even heated topic to it. now that we have won a world series, where do we go next? remember people, this is the red sox, theyre not normal, and i dont expect them to be. the yankees will come up with something else, and we will deal with it. winning a world series with the red sox, to me at least, is something that is great. the truth is though, it sucks to be a sox fan.
  16. i dont see him staying...id much rather have bellhorn. hes proven himself, and he could be a very useful bench player.
  17. LETS GO SCHILLDAWG, LETS GO RED SOX!!!
  18. its the post-season people, the yankees are not the worst team left. they have so much post-season experience its not even funny.
  19. agreed with element... your not a sox fan if ur a bandwagoner dumbass.
  20. then u got 435987425345 idiots in this thread...and saying we have to wear an arm band thats red to stop the curse isnt pumping us up...its annoying the living hell out of us. theres no curse and people have to realize that.
  21. when i finally meet a yankee fan thats not a bandwagoner and has some sense and knowledge of baseball who can tell the difference between don zimmer and babe ruth, i will show u a blue dog.
  22. larkins getting old, and so is vizquel. he has a great glove and a solid bat, but im happy with cabrera and we can hopefully sign renteria in the off-season, while moving cabrera to 2B...think of that mid IF...renteria and cabrera...wow.
  23. the MVP should be on a winning playoff-potential team. i couldnt believe arod got it down in texas.
